When lana said the last celeb she texted was the weeknd, i fangirled sooo hard. two of my music influences. i love their friendship, respect , and admiration they have for each other. musical soulmates me thinks. i hope they get to collaborate once again when the weeknd goes by “abel tesfaye”
I can't believe that Lana has written to Abel aka The Weeknd, that's a good sign that they are going to get together very soon for something creative. I remember When I was on Abel's Madrid concert in the east track when he sang Less Than Zero I wrote in my poster something else in which he said: "Please Collab with Lana cause you know is your Stargirl" and he smiled at me, in fact it is a video on a channel that is an X❤O fan called Anything Abel in which it is titled "I flew across the world to see my favourite artist live" when Abel after jumping and sang a fragment of the song "I try to hide it, but I know you know me. I try to fight it, but I'd rather be free" he looked at me along with my sign and he made that gesture of affection while he was smiling again and little by little he was heading to the other side. The girl next to me warned me again that Abel looked at me again and asked me if I could point out the sign to take a photo or make a video. That means that he still has affection and admiration for Lana and that it is also another sign that he may be collab with Lana someday, let's hope so for this AMAZING COLLAB 💕
Did you know that 12 years ago, on September 26th The Weeknd discovered Lana Del Rey through tumblr, and was the first one to ask BBC Radio 1 to put 'Video Games' on their playlist. In fact in an interview Abel admits that when he met Lana, he felt that he had found the girl who was writing in her songs, that is, I found her muse for her songs. She is the girl in my music, and I am the guy in her music. It’s just this ghostly collaboration that feels the most natural on the whole [Beauty Behind the Madness] album.
Even the whole monologue intro on “Lonely Star” from [my 2011 mixtape] Thursday - I just realized now that that’s Lana. That’s Lana’s voice. I mean, it’s my voice pitched up, but it’s her. It’s who she is. She was definitely the first feature that I wanted to bring on this album.”
The Weeknd and Del Rey are more than just collaborators, it seems. The pair’s music - according to The Weeknd - is spiritually linked. Perhaps this revelation puts into context not only the collaborations between these two but their respective catalogs as well. As great collaborations he has Prisoner, Party Monster where Lana makes Background vocals, Stargirl Interlude, Lust for Life and Money Power and Glory an unreleased remix by The weeknd for the album kissland but the original is from Lana's album Ultraviolence, you need to react they are PURE CHEMISTRY. Anyway, long life to this wonderful collaboration.
