The reason we pay higher salaries is because they were free transfers or signed new contracts. Apart from Dessers Lammers and Danilo who we bought. If you don't pay 2 or 3 million for a player you can use that money for the salary for the length of the contract. If player signs for another club they get a signing fee so that can offset the drop in salary.

I tend to blame the agents. They are utter poison & want as much from the deal as possible. They will always tell players who have to drop a wage to stay where they are. Mu brother heard it week in week out when working In the industry.. Disgusting
