- I recently completed a custom-made TSA-approved Victorinox Swiss Army knife. I used a SAK Champ as the base and removed all the tools that were not TSA-approved so that I can fly with it everywhere. I am pleased with the results.
I will be trying it out when my wife flies to LAX and back home.
I will be giving it away to a random subscribers if it comes back.

So many people are complaining about Victorinox making Knifeless Swiss Army Knives, but yet people are making them. I truly am excited about Knifeless options. I have been considering doing this but I am scared of destroying something that is more expensive to replace now over the price I paid years ago. Plus I love carrying all mine. A few times I didn't carry 1 because of the event I was going to or the building I was working in that day.
I highly recommend trying it. You can just go on Ebay and get one for cheap to practice on. That's what I did. It opens up a whole new world of things you can do.
this one looks like a fun project, kind of easy but not too much XD
I had a lot of fun doing it. I highly recommend it! I will be making more. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Cool video i have always wanted a bladeless SAK like the concept of the jetsetter but it needs a nail file/screwdriver then it would be a bladeless rambler
Thanks! I wanted the nail file also but it looks like a blade and I don't want to give a TSA agent any excuse.
Nice mod and great video, I've been thinking about doing similar with a scalpel holder in place of the main blade
Thank you! And I highly recommend trying to do it. It's not too complicated and you will have a blast. I will be making some more with the tools that I use the most.
Good job. Did it pass TSA test?
I will find out tomorrow and let you know. My wife is getting on a plane to go to LA so we will all find out together.
If you want to preserve the scales warm them up in hot water or hair dryer before removal.
If you want to save the brass rivets use an old hand drill. The Dremel spins too fast for precise control.
DON'T use those dumb flush cutters to remove them !
Replace the blade with a scalpel holder.
That music loop is HELL ANNOYING.
I wasn't too worried about the scales. But I'm for sure trying the hand drill next time.
