I like the Arabian, but it’s just kind of small. I think Arthur looks a little goofy riding on it. And it’s too scared of everything for me to keep it around for more than a couple hours.

I usually go get the white arabian just so I can beat that chick that challenges you in Lemoyne (2X). Afterwards, the speed boost is awarded and I switch horses to something braver, durable and has more stamina. The Arabians are good for speed and selling for money. That's about it.

For those you want to no you can get it from the Braithwates when you go to steal there horses, all you gotta is make it your temporary horse before handing it over to the weird twins and then just pick it up after the cut scene (look on CZcams for a tutorial)

Who didn't know you both were going to give the Arabians high marks? The Thoroughbreds are caught throughout the game as are the Arabians. Put em next to one another in game. The Thoroughbreds are better than the small Arabians for mine and most other gamers. (I saw much larger Arabians in real life) Imo, Rockstar added the thoroubred horse so anyone with a little game time could have the best all-around horse. Btw i do not pay for any horse in this game. Theres always a way to either catch or steal them for Arthur. Online would be much better if they were not so tightly wound imo.
Dutch was given the Arabian because he does not use it the way Arthur uses horses imo. The Arabians are good for 3 things, though. (imo anyway) they are fun leveling to 4, and they are good to sell for $ ( can be done over and over). 3rd if you like a sorta a very small horse and dont hunt much theyll get ya from a to b in a good time with good handling. So I use them in chapter 2 for some treasure hunts.
Very easy to catch them. I agree with your Andalusian roundoff, but I catch the Pearlina at will fairly easily. So, dudes, they are not hard to find. That horse also spooks easier than a thouroghbred even though they are war horses. For a no-nonsense large war horse, I think the Turkoman, but you gotta stick with them for a while like one of you said he did with Big Shire. Btw that's a great horse. Not my long term choice but yaeh, good one. Turkoman...Stats are as good as the best but they are programmed to learn slower imo. Very nice large slender horse. They will let you know when any enemy animal or NPC is near. The differences in the horses are also sensitivity. The Turkoman is almost overstrung but used long term becomes a great horse in this game. Just not a speedster, but fast enough.
After using these horses in this game and riding them well past full leveling I always come back to the thouroughbreds and Turkomans. The brindle is the hardest of the Tbeds to find free but well worth price if you decide to buy at Strawberry stable for 450 bucs? She is awesome. I just don't like buying horses even when im on allot of cash. . I did ride the spotted appaloosa for 3 chapters once though. Lol. I enjoyed the horse. I catch them from time to time to haul extra larger pelts for me. i do not bond just break keep close. Toss a rope on if I am headed back to Trapper or Pierson. I do this with others too. If you let them bond, they become your temporary horse which is fine if you dont have a temporary but if you do, you'll lose the temp you have in camp. I keep stables full, then one temp in camp and ride one. Either my favorite or one I'm leveling to sell. Btw you two left a very important horse out of your video. (The American Standardbred.) ( Also mentioning GTA in you RDR vid is sort of a tell why one of you picks the horses that he believes are prettier and faster.) Dudes, I love cool cars but horses are so different than cars.. ima older guy in time on Esrt fir a human lol. Rode horses when I was young. Loved them. It's a bit more than game to say the least. Horses have more minds of there own in general, and, in reality. With that, they can be very similar also. Rockstar really did well with the horses IMHO. I Love cars too. And I don't drive a truck. Lol no I've had American built hot rods since the 70s. cars built from 37 chev to a modern SRT challenger.
So many in between. Not a brag dudes. A tell. Back on topic..
American Standardbreds are Pretty close to Thoroughbreds. Maybe, not quite as good. But they are race handling and will bond very well. In (online game) I ride a thoroughbred and a Standardbred. Colors of Standardbreds are cool. The only all black horse in the game i know of is an Americans Standardbred, tall race horse. They have size speed and bond well.
(Off topic a bit) If your having a bit of trouble with a horse, you like? Put it in camp as your temp after leveling and past top.. idk but seems to me horses are a little better when left in camp while Arthur rides out on another horse continually. I know, very unlikely in programming... right? Try it..thanks for vid. Overall very cool.. but breaking these horse down like this? Idk dudes, its personal for certain and you take good note of that fact.

I don‘t get why everyone loves the arabians. First of all the coats are pretty boring. They will buck you off as soon as they see any possible danger. They are small as hell which makes them look really goofy. They only have good speed and stats and I think stats only tell half the story. There are so many horses I prefer to an arabian. I only had one in my first playthrough and after that never again.

I really can't rank them all because I have little experience with most of them.
In my first playthrough I ran with a Black Tennessee Walker, and when playing with John, I bought the Gold Turkoman and fell on love with this breed. Been using it ever since.
You can actually get a Dark Bay Turkoman from the mission where you stole the Braithwait horses in Chapter 3, all you have to do is feed the horse before finishing the mission, until you get level 1 bonding and the temporary horse icon shows up on the map. It is pretty arduous, you must have a lot of horse food on your inventory because takes a little time, but it is totally worth to get a horse you're only supposed to get in the Epilogue, all the way back in Chapter 3.

  • @AlikStansberry
    @AlikStansberry Před rokem +7

It’s pretty difficult for me to rank my favorite horses, because a good number of them I didn’t bother using. I’m a bigger horses type of guy: so like the Dutch Warmblood, Ardennes, and Turkoman come to mind.
Horses like the Belgian Draft and Shire however, I’ve never really liked the idea of using so they won’t be included.
As another note, everyone’s perfect horses is different as some prefer faster horses while others like the bigger bulkier ones better.
Oh, and please search up how to pronounce some of the horse names better because that was kind of embarrassing.(just saying)
I’ll only rank the horses I’ve used extensively, but again a great deal of others I never used for one reason or another.
2 honorable mentions: The Mustang and Hungarian HalfBred I consider to be underrated. Both Great War/Work horses that served me well, I just haven’t used them that much.
    5. Andalusian: When it came time to unlock the stables, I’d often go to brandywine Drop to pick up the Perlino Andalusian. Andalusians in general are great horses for hunting, gun fights and are very brave around predators making it easier to hunt big game. They’re also pretty attractive in their coats. It’s a great early option for a strong war horse and I just have wonderful memories of having it as my main mount.
    4. Turkoman: Another fantastic strong war horse. I give it the edge over the Andalusian because of its better speed stats, and I’ll mention they’re both equally great for what their worth. Sometimes however, the Turkoman feels more race than war because there were times were it could easily stand up to a bunch of wolfs until til the next time it couldn’t stand down before bucking me.
I guess I’ll say I’m kinda tied with the Andalusian and Turkoman actually, but I like them both.
    3. Dutch Warmblood: A solid earlier game option as a giant, tall, versatile work horse. Apparently they can chase off small herds of wolfs because of their sheer size and resilience! These horses have good bravery and all around stats, my favorite coat/variant is the Cremello Gold Dutch Warmblood named Buell from Hamish, then the Chocolate Roan.
But yeah, very solid horse with great versatility that never disappoints me.
    2. Ardennes: What can I say about it?? It’s so muscular, has a monstrously sounding voice and is a literal tank of a horse!! The hulk of all horses if you ask me. I don’t mind it’s low speed stats because of it’s high stamina and huge health pool, plus they’re perfect in gun fights because they don’t agitate and just about nothing can scare them off.(although the Andalusian and Hungarian Halfbred rival it in bravery) but overall, the Ardennes is my favorite big horse.
    1. Missouri Fox Trotter: Quite possibly the greatest horse in the game! Has the highest speed stat, they preform greatly in races, have excellent health and stamina etc. this is the horse I’ve been spending the most time with as of late, as thanks to the Albert Mason MFT glitch I can get the Silver Dapple Pinto as Arthur as early as Chapter 2!
It has reasonable bravery even if some horses are better in that category, and that SDP coat is gorgeous!
Love this horse, it might be my all time favorite at this point.

By chapter 4 you’ve done the valentine heist and maybe explored and gotten some gold bars to sell so you definitely could afford 1000 on a horse especially because horses are such a big part of the experience. And I just really like the thing. I remember buying and loving the gold one when I got to Saint Denis it was awesome

super late comment but I pretty much agree with you both on your list based on stats and handling and stuff like that and its a difficult list to do because some horse coats are great even if its a breed that at first seems pretty meh or bad. For example the Adalusian is a solid horse but the Perlino coat is an absolute monster when its at max level I think it has 10 health and 8 stamina while being very stout and not easy to spook also it looks absolutely beautiful. It would be really cool if you both do a ranking of horses breeds in terms of looks and coats excluding stats and temperment etc. If thats the case Ethan's choice of the Shire at 3 is a very very good one.

As someone who hunts more than does bounties or gunfights with gangs, the war horses are amazing. I used the Hungarian Half Bred before switching to the Ardennes and it's an underrated horse (Hungarian). Both HHB and the Ardennes are absolute units and great around big game/predators; was not bucked off once. Other than them, I'm using a Turkoman currently and looking forward to trying Buell towards the end of the game.

Learning just how little the difference between the bottom speed of an unsaddled Morgan and a 10 speed Thoroughbred...speed doesn't matter. Acceleration and courage are the most important things. • @cranma0125
    @cranma0125 Před rokem +2

Honestly, no, the Arabian is just not the best. It kinda sucks. I mean yeah, it's pretty and fast but that's kinda all it's got going for it. In my game experence, the Arabian is incredibly skittish where the opposite is very essential; you're gonna come across many predators, gunfights and ambushes where you need a horse that can handle that. Taking this horse hunting is not ideal either mainly because of the wild animals but also because it freaks out just after a few gunshots.
Stats wise, the Arabian is fantastic, and the sell price is great too, if you snatch the black one from Saint Denis. I have tried to like it and ride it, but I just can't... I absolutely hate how small it is, it feels so unrealistic for Arthur and John to ride.
For me, the perfect horse is something like the Missouri Fox Trotter or the Thoroughbred. I value speed and stamina statwise, but I also want a horse that doesn't freak out easily. A huge factor for me is also what I'm gonna be looking at psysically while playing, aka the size of the horse. As mentioned, the Arabian being so small is just an eyesore for me😅
Ironically enough I spent a lot of time with the Appaloosa while playing as Arthur! It's not super fast, but the stamina is great and it was surprisingly brave. The Arabian had a harder time aproaching crocodiles than the Appaloosa.

Dutch Warmblood for me every time. If we're comparing horses to cars, then the DW is an F250 or F350. Not super fast (the one from Valentine Stables tops at 7) but they're meant for work and won't throw you off when next to a snake. A cougar or bear is a different story though.

The Raven Black Shire that you get for free - doesn't even buck you off when around Alligators or Grizzly Bears! It is totally fearless
So when you are doing hunting for all Trapper outfits / LOE Satchel etc. It is very helpful - just very slow.
Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfbred is the same - another absolute beast , even better than the above as it has better stamina and speed starts. It is just hard to get a hold of (you get a free one on the way back from Guarma or get it from Bounty Hunters)
Probably my third favourite overall in the game.
You can steal Wrobel's horse however if you want a similar horse early (it is the Dapple Dark Grey and a very good looking coat)
Chocolate Roan / Sooty Buckskin and Seal Brown Dutch Warmblood is a great all round horse in all stats - plus you can get it early on in the game.
Buell is even better - but obviously super late in the game. (2nd best horse overall IMO)
Dark Bay Turkoman if you glitch the mission ins Chapter 3 is a brilliant horse (best looking in the entire game apart from maybe the Blood Bay Thoroughbred) but legit - you can only get in the Epilogue. Unless you decide to get the Gold one in Saint Denis for a lot of cash.
Brindle Thoroughbred is a great horse, and you can get it early in Chapter 2 from a race / O'Driscoll ambushes.
    Super fast and unique coat.
But if you have the PC version - the Reverse Dapple Thoroughbred is the only horse you will ever need! Plus it's free.
Even if it wants to buck you off near any predator most of the time.
Overall, the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter IMO... is the all round best in the entire game.
When you consider looks, speed, getting around the map, stamina , gunfight combat and being around predators for hunting.
It will still buck you off if you don't calm it - but mine never bucked me off for Cougar's which was better than basically all the other rivals to it (Turkoman, Arabian, Nokota etc)
To me it is just better than the Arabian in every way.
Plus you can get it in Chapter 2 from the Arcadia for Amateurs mission and TWO random events.

I usually go for Mustangs in the game as Arthur, but as John, I usually go for buell.

Arabians are way over rated compared to some of the larger, more health and stamina horses.

its funny, how in real life Morgans are considered the breed of horse that built this country if there is such thing, but the Morgan is dead last in terms of the game lol.

The white Arabian is easily my fav horse in the game. After it died in red dead redemption (the mission where Arthur dies) I was really sad, I told myself my new horse would carry her soul with every beat with their heart but it wasn’t making me feel much better. Then after trying to steal some other Arabians after thinking all three wild ones were dead (I had the warped and raspberry in stables) I searched up if the Arabians could respawn if they die, and they can. I was super happy and rode straight to lake Isabella and started looking. On about day three i was looking around in the mist and couldn’t find anything, I used eagle eye and looked into the mist when right near me was a bull moose (one of the rarest animals in the game). As I was looking at it I noticed the white Arabian was right in front of it! It was a beautiful sight indeed
Whoever read all the way down here gets a cookie!!!!
