For urgent Budgie care or health questions, please consult your veterinarian. It is important that you do not rely solely on following online advice. I am not a professional veterinarian and can not diagnose your budgies ailment or provide medical care for them. Thank you for understanding! :)
Hey guys! I've read most of your comments! This video was long time ago and I was still learning! Font's are now a lot shorter and more visible to the eye. I'm also more mindful of my grammar/spelling mistakes! I'm learning more as time goes please be patient with me! :)
Thank you for this video! It was very helpful and useful!!
Btw i cant live now that you said they have a third eye...
👁👁👁
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!
That’s fine lol
By the way your budgies are so cute 🙂☺️
I'm glad my most recent Budgie had lived around 14 - 15 years, I loved listening to him sing through the day and watching him puff up like a ball of cotton.
thats amazing but also, I would say, rare. 🙃
Mine puff up all day
Mine puffs many times during day it is healthy but when it puffs like a fluffy cotton ball ,I wanna cuddle it play with it touch it but it is adult *female* not tamed so how can I , I will only get bites 😭 , but to see it doing it is half satisfying 🤩🤩😍😍😍🥰🥰🥳
Its really rare dude.....i lost my one budgie that was male one n we spent alomst 3 months together wr all found ourselces attached with that even his cage partner femalr onr too that shr is alone now!! 💔
Cool video. Budgies are very sweet and friendly birds.
For example: When i was a young teen, we had a budgie who was best buddies with our dorky cavies and with our pair of cockatiels. He shared his herbs, salad and even his beloved millet with the other animals. And he loved it to have "jam sessions" with the male cockatiel, like play the drums or sing together. ^_^
He was even so fond of mom and me, that we could go together with him to the near stores to buy fresh veggies. He was wasn't afraid of all the traffic noises at all and just sit on the shoulder and sing a song or sit in the hood and take a nap. He was the most unique budgie i have ever met.
Budgies are small animals but have so much character! I'm glad you had a fantastic experience with your budgie! 😊🙂
Will a budgie fly away from you if you take it outside?
@@redrex1272 I know you didn't ask me but yes they would fly away if you take them outside. The only way to prevent that is to train them really well. I guess another option could be to clip their wings but not a lot of people like that.
@@enmused Thanks, I think clipping the wings of a bird is quite inhumane as one of they're main attributes is flight. I will try and train my budgie as well as I can in controlled environments
Lol, mine hates humans, in their mind, we r useful only for snaccs and foods/water
My Budgie is turning *15* tomorrow!! I'm so excited. I've had him ever since I was eight and I love him so much. He's still pretty healthy and strong too.
Erin Wallace. That’s a nice age for a budgie.👍
Can you please give me tips ? I have 4 budies and would like advice on how to keep them for that long. Thanks!
He would now be 16 ig
Wow hope it be always woth u happy....i lost my budgie while oy spending 3 months with it!! 😔😔
"Budgies poop as often as every 15 minutes"
Seems more often than that lol
When i clean my budgies cage and i distract the cage that just look like the jurassic park scene when ian malcon says: thats a lot of s***
Yo same!!!!💩
I had a budgie that lived for 15 human years. He was lovely, friendly and swore like an irish man in a drunken brawl lol. Miss that bird, hes burried in a thermos flask in my garden with a toy, millet and shrouded with a piece of red velvet. OTT I know but I loved him so much. People have similar burials so why not loved pets?
Nice budgies.. The yellow one is very cute..
thank you
+Mybudgies03 pleasure
Feather Beautiful ur budgies are sooooo CUTE
Her budgies are very cute I mean.
Her budgies are very cute I mean.
My little girl (keet) makes me feel more loved than any human ever has. She is so sweet and affectionate, I'm blessed to have her as a pet
One of my past budgies was very lucky if the blood one is true.
While playing with some of my dad's empty beer cans he pulled one over at the wrong angle and got his head partly caught in the opening, taking a chunk of his scalp off. One very quick trip to the vet later we came home with one very lucky budgie and some ointment. He went on to make a full recovery.
Reading this scared me! Glad he made a full recoverY!!!!
GeoRyukaiser that was god so thank him and congrats.Im happy for the little budgi
Um, why are you letting your budgies play with beer cans? I don't think that's safe...
I am planning of buying two budgies, a male and a female, I want to tame them, so that they sit on my fingers and be comfortable with me. Its ok if it doesn't learn to speak (the male)....Will it be difficult to hand tame both of them?
@@abhishekvgowda5419 better to get one budgie and train it then get second one and keep in a separate cage and train. Sometimes female budgies will attack males or other females. 2 males in same cage is ok.
I had one for almost ten years. He was so friendly and never bit anyone.
Thats amazing 😊
I saw the fact about budgies having a third "eye "and my initial reaction was WHAAA I'VE HAD BUDGIES FOR YEARS AND NEVER NOTICED?? IS IT IN THEIR FEATHERS SOMEWHERE??
aria same lol
Same!!
same
Me too... but it disappointingly was a third eyeLID
When I saw that fact I just looked at my budgie like a third eye was suddenly going to pop out of her forehead and she would start muttering prophecies and visions of the future in English.
I know somebody whose budgie died at 19 and a half years. BTW, they can see UV light.
Budgies average life span is 5-8 but they can easily live over 10. My friends budgie also died at 17 years of age. Its really depends on their genes and genetics :)
Feather Beautiful the average life span of a budgie is 10-20 years 5-8 years is mostly for finches the larger the bird the longer it's life span this is why macaws can live for over a century
Can canaries see UV light?
indeed, they can see UV light,
from what i heard the weird nylon/fiberglass looking feathers males have on top of their heads (and can control with muscles) actually reflect that UV light and it attracts females and stuff
as for canaries, i don't know.
Ours also lived to 19
I love this video! The quality and the fact that budgies grind their beaks when they're happy😀
Thank you :)
Lol and I Thot my budgie cursing me😁😅
Very good facts! You have beautiful Budgies!
Aww! thanks :)
Love of Pets i agreed ✌✌✌👍👍
Love of Pets I love ur channel
Love of Pets omg ik your channel. Remember me?? You helped me like a few weeks ago!!! 💖💖
BIRD POWER. It's sad how these magnificent, cute birds die.and I really hate people who kill birds for entertainment.
I love my " keet son " Chipper and he loves for me to rub his back he also plays peek a boo as he knows what time I feed and change his paper.they are so rewarding to have p!us Chipper loves to eat when I do.for those other people whom have bought a keet and couldn't take care of it wasn't ready for the responsibility of owning a lovable pet they are like having children .I've got Chipper a year and I worry about him as if I've had him all my life.hes just now learning to do step up and although he won't stay on my finger long but he'll do step up and I tell him he's a good boy.im contemplating about getting Chipper a companion ( a boy) so he won't be lonely when I'm out I'm still thinking about it though but Chipper brings me joy everyday of my life.thank you for your video and your bird Aqua is beautiful they all are and even though they're the same species they have different personalities just like people
I'm sure Chipper would love to have a friend :)
regina beasley What a cute name!! Chipper aww.
I am thinking of naming his companion brother Skipper as in Gilligan's island as it rhyme with Chipper.i had his name picked out before I got him
I used to have a budgie named Chipper :) He was named after Chipper Jones from the Atlanta Braves.
I don't know if its true about their lifetime (15 years), but mine lived 10.
Great companions for cheering you up. They need lots of attention and care but they are very affective and friendly if you know how to take care of them.
Very informative video, even if I knew 80% of them. I like your parrots, hope they are ok :D
compared to basically any other parrot species budgies actually have a pretty short life span, and yes if well taken care of can live well past the 8 year range, but still can be considered short none the less.
They live up to 20 years
thedanath they live to 20 what the fuck have you done to your birds lmao
with fact #3, it's amazing how they don't instantly explode seeing as how rowdy and unhinged they can be
mine messes up his leg at least 3 times a year because he did something stupid and in panic claws to the closest thing available :')
we have shit tons of ringneck parakeets in the wild here in the Netherlands, i hear them in the trees every morning and my 2 budgies yell back at them, appearantly they came from germany and belgium and moved upward as winters became milder.
netherlands has wide variety of birds, i've seen quite some,
we have big old herons herons and swans everywhere (who'd a thunk in a country made from water)
out in the country got our little falcons, and a huge list of small birds.
but it's still weird to see such an exotic bird fly around in the wild, it wasn't like that 20 years ago lol
when i play guitar my budgies start looking down at me with their heads diagonally, almost like they're like little doggos and it cracks me up everytime they eyeball me like that, also the way their face looks when they're doing pruning the heavily padded zones, those temporary sideburns, does it to me everytime, there's a couple of those cases in this video too :')
OHHH THATS WHY MY BUDGIE POOPS SOOOO MUCH
something ya it slows down to 10-15 minutes as they get older
My budgie sometimes poops every 5min
yeah
Mine poops every 5 mins.
When I was a kid , we had a beautiful blue budgie ,my mother had him totally tamed , he would come in and out of his cage whenever he wanted , he would go back in to eat or drink , (sometimes he would pick off your dinner plate ,)or at about ten at night , which he knew was bedtime , he would often land on my head ( I never checked the time ,) and most of the time he crapped on me . He lived to be 13 or almost 14 , I still miss Charlie
Budgies are just cuties. They get along with everyone! Thank you for commenting! 😊🙂
This is going to make me cry. One of my parakeets died and she was young. ;(
R.I.P :(
Level up:
Love for budgies has increased by 70.
¡! Toaster Cat !¡ play wow?
😩 My bird started chirping when he heard the background
awww 💖
my first birdie was a budgie, and i am certain they will be my last
i love budgies
hi i did many weeks of research on budgies and conures and im not sure which one i want to get yet. which one do you recommend first?!
@@patiencescarbrough3681 I know this comment is 11 months ago but still
Budgies are best for beginners
Very educational, not to mention adorable! Best of both worlds. ♥
Also, brilliant camera quality right here. ♥
Glad you liked it! Thanks :)
You're welcome~ ♥
I had a budgie who lived to 13 years old and he was such a chatterbox. He used to talk and call himself a pretty boy and all sorts. I miss him so much. Got him when I was 4 and he died when I was 17. They are absolutely stunning animals, so friendly. I've had 3 budgies and honestly would absolutely love another
Awe, thats so cute. R.I.P lil guy...
I am so relieved to hear about the grinding their beaks when content, I always thought my budgies were hungry/not feeling well! Also, what does it mean if the budgie opens its beak/breathes out from its beak? Think of it like a dog panting but they also make a chittering sound, whenever they do it I think they’re thirsty but I give them plenty of fresh water everyday
They are yawning
The cutest little birds ever.
Thank you 🙃
I have a budgie named dale and he won't ever in his life shut up!!! Once I had my friend over for a sleepover and he kept waking us up so we could give him attention😂 But I love him he's so fluffy and loves to be talked to😂❤
How typical 😂
It’s really sad that budgies normally live up to 5 years. Honestly, they’re so underrated
I agree...
We had a budgie for 11 yrs ...kinda miss him when i see other birds. He used to say 'Sweetie seeds' and 'Love you'. We used to call seeds from our hands sweetie seeds. He would copy tunes and music too. I remember we found out about the third eye ....we kept looking for it on his head under his feathers (we were kids)
awwwwww!!! The third eye memory is really cute! I'm really sorry that he passed away
The yellow one is so beautiful!
Im trying to convince my parents to let me get 2 budgies!
Awe thanks! Thats Limon... He has since passed away
@@FeatherBeautiful oh no!
I’m convincing my parents on one and they are holding a pretty tight grudge 😞
I had in total 11 budgies, I still have 3 of them. All the 8 have lived for more than 10 years, my older one was 16 when she died. The 3 I have currently have 11, and 2 brother-sister of 8. They are heatly and do not see old at all. The one of 16 was having sing of old age (flying less, more white feathe)r and have a kind of AVC and had some paralysis at the left side.
Monocular vision is not essential for flying but to spot threats like predators more easily. Owls have binocular eyes.
Well... Birds have monocular vision for a reason but yes, binocular eyes are also useful for some birds 😊
I saw massive flocks of wild budgies 50 miles west of Gold Coast. They were as numerous as prairie blackbirds.
WOW amazing that must have been so beautiful
Lucky 🙂
I love them so much
My sweet bird died last night, me and my kids cried like crazy. We miss him very very much. 1:55 is the same bird as ours 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
MY MESSY BIRDS 💜💖❤. That’s so sad!
@@bertvdlast it is sad, my 5 year old still cries
MY MESSY BIRDS 💜💖❤. Are you gonna get them a new one?
@@bertvdlast now we have 5 and one is similar to the 1 that die, but its not the same my boy still misses the other one🙁
R.I.P :(
I loved our Budgies they all had long happy lives thanks for sharing
Thank you too :)
I got parakeets 4 months ago and your video has definitely given me a lot of insight! Thank you so much! 🐦🐤
your welcome :)
yeah!very cute yellow budgies!
Thank you :)
SO FLUFFY. ♥
Add another fact. They are the cutest pets!
agree 😊🐤
A very friendly bird. Fond memories when I was a child and college aged how smart and affectionate they are. My travels/ job kept me from owning any pet. I am retiring now and intend to introduce a Budgie(s) in my life.
Hahaha one use to like to nest in my hair and climb all over my glasses when I was typing college work. Fond memories.
I once took care of a friend's cockatiel who often did the beak grinding. He'd be sitting on your shoulder and you'd start hearing pffftfpfptfptpfpt. It was very cute 💛
awww 😊 😊 😊 😊
Very interesting facts. Thanks for sharing
Your welcome :)
If my sister ever saw this she would scream she is obsessed with birds 😞😞😞🐤
Its nice you included sources... not a lot of videos do that! ❤
Glad you like them! :)
@@FeatherBeautiful : )
I have grown up with bungies and dogs I do argree they are super delicate I wish I can gain the trust of my current bungies tho They were basically all grown up when I got them
I didn't know about the third eye fact that was interesting
Great video The birds looked so happy:)
Glad you enjoyed the video ;)
When I was 4 years old I got my first ever budgie, it lived 5 years and i thought it lived 10 years so i was pretty sad that i couldnt give him the best life but when i saw this information it made me fell comfy!
I'm so sorry to hear that... :(
Feather Beautiful it’s okay! I am sure he is in a better place 🥺 I miss him , but , I know he is up there
I feel better about how well I have cared for my budgies. I had one make it to 14 and he would have gone a lot longer if it weren't for an accident. Another I had just recently passed away at a little over 16. So it shows they have had good long lives. I only have one left now... and he seems to have depression. He doesn't want to come out and play anymore. Poor little guy. He tolerates me trying to love him but he just isn't interested. He's always had other birds to bond with and now all he has is this great big pink monkey thing. "Okay... I'll sit on your finger for a little while. But I'm not in the mood to play."
Ogre302 that's the same with my bird! He's a single male who didn't live with others but isn't playful or chatty...
BellaRay then it’s not the same I’m confused ? This guys budgie misses his companions where as your budgie has always been on it’s own right ? same as mine, but mine is content and happy make sure he has a big enough cage lots of talking and maybe leave the tele or radio on for your bird to comfort them when you are not there good luck get your bird some millet cheer him or her up good luck
Another little known fact: In his childhood, Keith Emerson (of ELP) had a pet budgie named 'Teddy Boy". In KE's autobiography, there's a photo of young Keith playing an upright piano with the budgie atop his head!
Lovely video.
I have budgies and aseel chickens at home.I have installed solar panels for my birds.
Glad you liked the video 😊
Number 6 I think anyone owning a budgie can work out. When you own any pet for a good while you start to pick up on its body language.
An extra fact is: if your budgie/bird is chirping play some calm music if it doesn’t work it worked for my bird soooo yeah
The Bird i would be most interested in would be
1. Love Bird
2. Budgie
3. Cockatiels
4. idk
Hi! I am going to be getting a bird in few months, I’m saving for one! And I’m researching! Thanks for these facts!
Hannah Espinoza i'm glad you liked the video 🙈
Can confirm fact 1. I like to play with my dad’s budgies while watching TV, and it happens multiple times.
I just got a new budgie and this makes me learn a lot of new things!!
Glad you found the video useful :)
I’m showing this to one of my parakeets, Gummy he is an aqua greenish color

My 6 baby budgies hatched and it’s parents attacked them ...5 died but a miracle one happened to survive .
It’s under my care
Wow how is that budgie now?

I just wanna hug dat birb
I have a white, black, and bluish-purple colored female budgie named Winter that looks exactly like your female white, black, and bluish-purple colored budgie. She even has the same markings. I swear there is a glitch in the system.
I have two budgie and I am happy with it
Glad you like the company of your birds 😊
So very interesting. Thank u.
My budgie lived to 16 years old. Only had to be put to sleep because of a cancer growth.
I had to put down Snowy for cancer growth as well but she was only three...
Very Beautiful Birds scenery DR...👌👌👍👍🔔🔔
awe thanks! 🥰
What is nice about budgie poop is that it's like a little seed. Not like a sloppy blob of parrot droppings.
Thats so trueeee! 😇😇
About number 1 my budgie was so adorable he would he a lot and was super fat and slept a lot and he was still active but he passed away recently but he’s in heaven
R.I.P angel..
1:28 Looks exactly like a parakeet I used to have named Queen Esther. That was about 4 years ago. I miss that bird SO much!!!! 🐦💖
Oh now I'm sad. :'(
r.i.p Queen Esther 💖
We have 2 budgies, a male and a female. The female was sold as a male😶...both of them were tamed after 1 year. It's still possible but it takes some more time.
Some budgies just don't like being touched. If Edward is really sleepy, he'll allow me but its been close to 3 years and he still doesn't like it. He's never bitten me for the past 3 years. That surprises me too. He's a gentle giant but he just doesn't like being touched. Some birds are just like that :)
I might be getting a budgie soon so can you give me some tips for beginners
Honestly, here is just so much that needs to be covered that I can't write. Its best if you check my website. It has really good information for beginners
www.featherbeautiful.com/
They are THE easiest pet to have. So enjoy!
The first tip would be: Please never ever have only one budgie at home. They are very social birds that need companions like them to live a happy life.
m1jo Personally, I disagree. We’ve had Bobby for 7 years and he’s never been interested in being around other Budgies. We had another one for about a year and he really wasn’t bothered about having her around. He much prefers having us for company. I leave him the window open so he can chat to the birds outside and he loves that!
@@Thedaisyjaynes, no, of Course not. He doesn´t know the difference and he has a Fixation on you. He simply doesn´t know anymore that he is a bird and how to communicate with other birds. That is a normal behaviour after beeing alone for such a Long time. Budgies are animals that live in swarms. It is indeed very important for them and it saves their lives in nature. Our budgies have still the same instincts. Beeing a human´s best friend is mostly only the try to not beeing alone. They have no other choise but to do so. I can tell you, that I have had a lot of budgies in care, that could not handle this human-bird-relationship anymore, or could no longer stand beeing a lonely bird. Some became very aggressive, some did not want to do anything anymore in their lives and had given up, others hurt themselves and plucked their feathers, at the Moment there is one who would like to communicate with others, but doesn´t know how to do it, because he as well has a Fixation on humans. He is struggling in making Friends, but he wants it Pretty much, or not beeing rude to them, but he simply doesn´t know how to be gentle and to deal with it. The Daisy Jaynes, if you would ever see, what it means to These birds, to be alone around another species instead of having budgie-friends, you would understand, what I am trying to tell you. They really Need at last one other companion to be really happy.
If you don’t have a Budgie then dislike, but don’t just dislike 🤜🏻👊🏻 thanks for the video so helpful
Thanks 😊
I love parakeets :)
One important thing about budgies is that you should never give them avocado, because it’s a poison for them.
There was something else but I don’t know it’s name in English.
Correct, birds shouldn't consume avocado's as its toxic 😊
No wonder mine didn't do anything but "poop" to see how high he could stack it. I thought it was just him . I could never figure out if it was male or female , so I just called it Pat. Like the character from SNL back in the day.
thats a really cute name 😊
My beautiful budgie broke her wings recently it's been really hard for me. She can't fly so she usually just sits in her cage and just sleeps. It breaks my heart 💔
i'm really sorry to hear that. How is she doing now?

You have adorable birds!

Just out of curiousity, can a budgie and a cockatiel be kept together, in the same cage? I'm interested in both. ☺️
If you look at my recent videos, you'll see that I do have my cockatiel and budgies housed together :)
5:11 This is Snowy Right? She is rare budgie!
Budgies are all green in the wild and live in the desert in thousands. Australia.
