How about in Deadpool? You earn a trophy by earning a trophy! You get a trophy called "The First One Is Free" for starting the game, and for getting that trophy, you get a second trophy "The Second One is Also Free."
Heh, I got that game quite recently on the PS4 while it was really REALLY silly cheap. Got a bit of a chuckle from that part. Also, I think they were poking fun at just how stupid achievements can be with those two.
Karekristensson Yeah, same here. Got it for $5 on clearance from Walmart. Almost everything in that game was pretty funny. It's just a shame that the gameplay wasn't as good. And I think you're right about why they made that joke, about how achievements/trophies are kinda dumb. There are a few games in my Library that I really didn't like and don't want to play again, but the trophies that I haven't earned are just sitting there taunting me. Its mildly frustrating.
I immediately thought of that as soon as I saw the title.
If I remember correctly, the platinum is actually called "You Can Sell the Game Now".
I was immediately thinking this and wished it was in the video

As I recall, that one can actually be quite difficult.
I mean there's a trophy in Nier: Automata for looking up 2B's dress ten times. Another one where you keep 9S in his boxer shorts for an hour.
Or that one from The Simpsons Game where you get a trophy for pressing the start button on the start menu. Or for pressing square in Minecraft.
minecraft has a ton of press button trophies *cough cough* taking inventory
If I recall, Sly Racoon 1 gave you a trophy for seeing the loading screen when you turned the game on.
I played all of those when I was younger on the PS2!😂 fun game.

Honorable mention of all the times you get a trophy for simply playing a game for the first time.

Jumping into the helicopter blades in the beginning of Prey is still apparently the rarest trophy I have from that game.
One time I played a game called Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel and I got 7 trophies on my very first battle just for doing things that I would do in any fighting game.
There's a game called Mugen Souls which gives you a Bronze for pressing start and about 10 others in the first 15 minutes, ridiculous haha
Block, kick, dodge, grab, punch, etc?
I must say, that evil laugh at the end was quality mate.

I got the 'Welcome to Dark Souls' for doing nothing but falling to my own death. I was trying to jump across from one ledge to the other. I missed of course, and was greeted with this trophy which actually angered me because I didn't earn it during a battle, but dying stupidly instead.
That intro reminds me that I should earn a trophy every dang morning, for remembering to put on my glasses, even though I'm blind as a bat without them. (I'm just not a morning person. At all.)

As a bat lover, I agree with this. Sayings are stupid. Like, in France, it's "blind as a mole" (direct translation). Moles are not blind, either. They just have reaaaaaally low vision.

+Rob If I'm not mistaken, there is also one for Heavy Rain when you start playing, "Thank You For Playing Heavy Rain". It's like David Cage begging you to play it. :3

i switched to ps4 from xbox this week and my son dropped my controller in the bathtub. i guess hes an xbox person

That's brutal. Controllers are bloody expensive. I got the crystal limited edition Controller from Amazon just because it was a few quid more. Hope the switching from xbox to PS was worth it. I'd never go the other way. Love my PS4. Even if it does have it's issues.

I just got my first plat... Horizon: Zero Dawn!! Now onto the DLC...
Amazing game, the dlc is pretty revealing for the future of the game as well, which i find pretty rare in DLCs

Jumping an explosives covered car off a hill into the side of a building in Red Faction Guerrilla would be on that list.
in battlefield 2 I once jumped a car with c4 off a rock and hit a helicopter that was flying low chasing my teammate
I loved how you could switch seats and pop up out of the sunroof to detonate yourself in a suicide attack
YES! GARY FIST WILL REIGN SUPREME!
Also, the "You can break a Snow Dan" trophy from Ratchet & Clank 2, where you have to use any explosive-based weapon to destroy a snowman on Planet Siberius is one of my favourite trophies that can fit on this list.
You missed the 15 dognation trophies form Undertale. Dave could even go for those ones.
The Gary Fist and Delsin subplot is hands down the most exciting thing about this video

What about Nier Automata? There is a Trophy were you have to run around for an hour in your underwear with 9S. There is also a Trophy for looking under 2Bs skirt 10 times.
In Batman Arkham City I got a trophy for not moving for a couple minutes in the alley where his parents died.

Personal favorite dumb trophies: At the beginning of Deadpool, where you earn "The First One is Free" and "The Second One is Also Free" just by standing up and looking pretty.
Hilarious...Good one Rob and Dave. 🤣🤣🤣 There is a stupid trophy on either Limbo or Inside. Very beginning you walk back instead of continuing forward. Sometimes I do this in games if there is an object to get or find. You never know where you'll find things. Thanks for the laughs. Cheers

Donkey Kong Country had a level if you turned back and got on top of the cave you came from you would find a barrel, jump in barrel and it will fire you from one to the next until you have skipped the entire level

I think the _stupidest_ achievement I ever went out of my way to get was *Can I Get A Valkyrie?* from X-Men Destiny.
You get it by being defeated 100 times and it has 0 gamerscore. I had to let things wail on me in the credit sequence for a good hour before it popped.
I love seeing Robs old picture thumbnail beside his face, shows the maturity. Lols, or something.
I feel like we are entering the PlayStation Extended Universe and eventually there will be several characters whose timelines merge. Should be fun!

"Don't you have anything else to do with your time?" from MGS: Peace Walker. Awarded for rolling 100 times in one mission.
It was also my 500th trophy, so it's marked on my PS profile as exactly that. Trophy Milestone: 500th trophy "Don't you have anything else to do with your time?" :(
For one very easy Platinum trophy, just complete the PS3 version of the first series of The Walking Dead (which is how i got my first one :) ) .
(The game's Platinum is unmissable if you complete the game... :) .)
While for a still pretty easy but not unmissable Platinum just complete 2015's Need for Speed reboot and do a handful of extra things (which is how i got my still only second Platinum trophy) :) .
(While i'm far from a trophy hunter, with my as said "only" two Platinums, i still play enough games to be trophy level 20 with my two platinum, 138 gold, 665 silver and 3257 bronze trophies... :) .)

All telltale games are automatic platinum if you finish the game.
Rob even did a list some time back about platinums you should not brag about or something like that.
The problem with levelling up is once you get into the 20's it starts to take forever to progress.
Currently I am level 26, with 23 platinums, 226 gold, 1123 silver and 5003 bronze. Just for comparison.
Not all of them give you an automatic Platinum upon completing them actually, only some of them do.._
As said, the first series of The Walking Dead and as Benji said Tales from the Borderlands is another one which does and looking them up the third series of TWD and the first series of Telltale's Batman series also do, but while i also completed Telltale's Back th the Future, The Wolf Among Us and Sam and Max: The Devil's Playhouse without getting any Platinums for them (whether they actually had a Platinum trophy or not), but specifically the second series of TWD doesn't even have a Platinum trophy :) .

Oh man that Dark Souls II trophy I remember it well. It was my first experience with the DS series and so I pluckily went in, created my standard joe-sword-and-shield and went off exploring.
It took less than ten seconds for me to plummet to my death off of a chasm osbscured in the darkness and when that trophy popped I laughed so hard I fell off my couch. I absolutely love that kind of humour. Also - Gory... err, Gary Fist! (he really should've been named Gory tbh)
Rob, I do think you managed to hit a new level in funny in this video. Definitely had me laughing multiple times through this. I'm wondering, though, how you didn't include the Taking Inventory Trophy for simply opening the inventory in Minecraft.

Adam's Venture Origins has one where you start the game and don't push any buttons for a minute. It's a gold trophy.

My friend got the platinum for Dark Souls 2 before his PS3 died. He then bought a new one, played through the game again getting every trophy once more, but never got the platinum. He and I spent an entire afternoon pouring over forums looking for a glitch, checking that he'd done every boss and optional activity, and raging as we failed to find anything until he checked the trophy list for the umpteenth time only to realize the trophy he was missing was "Welcome to Dark Souls". He then walked his character off a bridge and platinumed DS2.
I remember a game on ps4 called stories: the path of destinies. In this game there was a trophy named "spin to win" that basically rewarded you for moving the left stick in circle making your character spin aimlessly for an accectable amount of seconds
