  • A Psy-Ko version 562xp versus a stock 576xp with a new topend - about as close as you can get run time wise on their cylinder assemblies.
The 576s are rare in this neck of the woods and this one was not the auto- tune version, unfortunately.
This chain was set up for Spruce/Alder/Redwood, not nasty, old, bone dry Fir. Had a slight chain glitch in the 562xp run. I mentioned a/the not so good test sawing ~ 6:17 but did not reference the 562xp - sorry.
Appears to me that even with the hiccup during the test run the 562xp experienced, it still made it through the cut a little bit faster.
I am currently available for custom saw modifications. If you are interested, please shoot m an email.

My 562 with muffler mod and 33rsf chain cuts through the smaller northern Idaho trees pretty well. I still may send it to you to massage it a bit and get it running even better. Do they run any cooler once they are pyscho-ized?

Hey Jack, nice vid as always. I just picked up a Stihl 056 Mag II, I am sure I will have some questions about spare parts lol. I hear they are tough to come by, but that they are supposed to be a great saw for the times.

What is the longest bar you recommend for a stock 562xp?!

Olson hi. I guess that depends on many factors. From my experience using those in a production cutting application, it would be a 28" bar. But, I come from a busheling background. Time is money. I will use a larger powerhead to get a faster cutting saw in many instances. Part of it comes form an oiling perspective. Running a 28" bar on a 562xp is about the limit for oiling well.
      Thanks for watching.

@@hotsaws101 Thanks for the reply! Sometimes one don't get a reply on CZcams sometimes. Your 'humbled opinion' matters to some of us! Safety, Grace, and Peace be with you!

To bad the 576 has such a bad rap. They look and feel good but never caught on to well.
