I wanted to voice an opinion that I feel has massively
gone under the radar this season. But Raya on loan
from Brentford has to go down as one of the most
successful loans, when you think about it if at the
start of the season you'd of said a loan GK is going
to come in for a team and win a Golden Glove in his
debut season it's pretty wild. I can fully appreciate
that being the best defensive team has also aided
this massively, but regardless I have always felt the
team and in particular the back four, do feel more
comfortable with him behind them in net.

I am slightly perplexed. My view of our performances is that we are desperate for a world class number 6. Imagine if we had rodri in our team, we would have gained a further 6 ish points. The next priority is a fantastic left back , second keeper and a left winger to give cover for martinelli.Simply a lack of goals has not been the issue.

The thing is we need another attacker. Whether that be a striker and Jesus becomes back up for the wingers or we bring in a winger. Neto fits the bill cause ideally the winger to come in needs to be good enough to replace B when he’s not there but also have the quality and hunger to start with him on the left. Neto would be perfect, even with the injuries
Actually watching replays of Havertz goal, the touches/time Odegaard takes before " air shooting" would of just hit the defender or keeper. So I think he meant it.

Hi Charles , I agree with the comment that we should get PL proven players. I would go for Doucoure and Onana instead of Bruno. I think we should go for Olise , if possible or else someone like Kudus.

Hello Charles, I would like Arsenal to sign Pedro Neto, he would provide great cover and competition to both our wingers! A combative CM to play alongside Declan Rice would be a great addition and quality defensive cover! Pedro Neto, CM, and Defensive quality Covers at minimum!

Sesko is in top form at the moment but needs another season at Leipzig to cook .. can’t have another “Werner” or “Jackson” in the prem especially not with what we’re aiming to achieve. Need a seasoned forward like how Auba was to hit the ground running
Agree with you we should start next season where we left off but don’t forget all other clubs are watching & will adjust how they address our set up, each season is a new book so we have to have flexibility,
Arteta & Edu like PL experience so Neto obviously is a possibility but so is his injury record which rules him out for me, Mbueno is definitely a prospect with a successful PL record & I don’t understand why he’s ignored …. Or is he???
I think Arteta will always eveolve the team in the way pep does each year. City always finish strong. Often because they are embedding new tactics in the first half of the season. I think we have to accept it as part of how Arteta will evolve the team

What I really like see now is Edu too start thinking outside box in this summer transfer Market be Creative, Just like David Deian our former and all time best Wheeler Dealer What like this summer is for Arsenal too offer A Ramsdale, K Terainy or Eddie Niketa and R Nelson plus 70 million too Newcastle in exchange for Bruno G and A Isak. This would a great deal as Newcastle would have ready made homegrown players a straight replacement upfront for Isak, a top international goalkeeper and good competition for Dan Burns at left back, Nelson would complement the midfield with his old mate from Arsenal Academy Wilcox. I think if offer like that was made too Newcastle they improve the FFP status and Arsenal would get the two top targets within our own FFP limits. Send Partey too Saudi for 30million Edu would really make a statement as Arsenal transfer guru, discuss this James on next C.W.

Hi Charles just on the start of season team selection I think that went out the window on the first day due to Timber's injury. In other words Plan A was gone and Arteta had to come up with another plan cos Timber's injury basically threw a spanner in the works.
Thanks for the season of great content Charles! Your mention of Tavares made me think of a question. Both he and Lokonga had mixed seasons - some good performances but also poorer ones and periods of injury. Assuming we sell both how much do you think we could and should get? I *think* we bought Tavares for about £6m and Lokonga for about £15m. Do you think we can get more than £21m combined?
Hi Charles, really great work with the channel. My thought is Arsenal should go to Declan Rice levels (Ito price and quality) on at least one player for the first team, and fill out the squad with (pricey) but younger talent, making room as needed from the guys who didn’t get any important minutes in the in (it’s time to be ruthless again Mikel). That £100 million pound guy for me is Aurelien Tchouameni, he’s literally the 24 y/o version of Partey we wish we had. I can’t make up a reason why Madrid would want to sell him though, although the money would surely tempt them

Here's a question for you that's a little out there...
With Zinchenko clearly going down the pecking order (you even floated the idea that you have a sneaky feeling he might be sold), our left back position with Tomi and Kiwior has been less inverted than before. We almost play with a classic left back/tucking in as third center back when White goes forward. Considering that, I don't think it would be a bad idea to keep Tierney after he comes back from loan. This season, if we had him in the squad, he would have 100% played ahead of Kiwior. He can play center back (he does for Scotland) and he is great at bombing forward the way White does. By having Tierney and White, we could be less predictable as to which side is going to have the full back pushing high, as opposed to now where we know that comes mostly/only from the right. I wouldn't have him as first choice, but he could be a great option to have. Although I know his injury record is poor..

Hello Charles about Pedro Neto 60 million is not bad for him. We should get him he will really improve us as a squad he's really quality, about injury record he might never get injured that much when he comes to us, for his quality let's buy him.

Charles if we were to sign 3/4players this summer who would you like for us to sign, taking into account realistic price and availability etc. I would love Diomande, Hato, Frankie de Jong and Sesko. Could realistically sign them all for around £200m, let go of Ramsdale, Nelson, Lokonga, Eddie, Tavares, Tierney, Partey to bring net spend down closer to £100m. If Partey goes I would add another midfielder to that list ( Onana or Zubamendi)
I'd like to see Arsenal target Olise. He would be a huge asset when we sometimes struggle to unlock defences and he has plenty of potential to improve and become a genuine world class player.
Charles, Now is not the time to experiment considering the juggernaut we’re competing with in city. We should go for Alexander Isak who is proven in the premier league. Just like we did with Rice last season.
If he could score 22 goals in that Newcastle team, he will score 32 at Arsenal, which could clinch us the title.

Instead of Neto, I like Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao or Mbuemo at Brentford a lot more than Neto.
On the striker situation, I like Sesko a lot but when I watch him I cant help but feel like he needs another season or two at Leipzig to really develop certain aspects of his game. He has immense talent and is a lethal finisher already, but he seems a bit rough around the edges with the ball at his feet and with his passing abilities. I think coming to Arsenal this summer may be a little too soon for him and if we were to splash 60-80 odd million for a striker, I would be expecting someone a little more polished who would come in and take us up another level immediately rather than someone who might need another couple of seasons before they become that golden boot contender that we all are hoping for. Of course I could be looking too much into this and he could end up coming in and scoring 20 + goals in year one if we sign him. No matter what though I trust Arteta and Edu and whoever they sign I will get excited about!
Is there any update on Tierney? Is there anyway for him to get back into the team or will it be another loan if we can’t find a buyer for him?

Hi Charles, against teams like everton, forest and sheff utd, teams who sit deep on the edge of their box, we’ve seen arteta turn to ESR in the middle rather than rice and someone else in 6. Do you think we need someone who’s naturally more attacking in midfield to break these types of teams down?
Transfer Up grade's with premiership experience is where we should be next season, given our current quality squad it has to be Olise & Isak the rest being mentioned not good enough currently to boost our squad.
Sesko, Gyorkeres & Brobbey would not be an upgrade & would struggle to get game time?

Great context as always Charles,you are a fantastic journalist.Charles,I have some thoughts about the 115 charges levelled against Manchester City.If some/all of the charges were proven,If points were retrospectively taken from Man City meaning league positions were changed for offending seasons could other clubs seek compensation from City or receive payment from the EPL as some clubs would have got a higher league position?Also and this is just out there,if City were totally exonerated could other PL clubs motion something like a ‘no confidence’ in how the league is operated or governed?

- Bruno guimaraes slots in behind rice as our number 6
- Mohammed kudus can play on either wing and as a false 9.
Would those two be enough to get us over the line next season? What’s your thoughts on both?
If we are talking wingers i personally would look at Madrids two boys Rodrygo and Diaz with Mbappe en route one of em may be surplus to requirement. Neto is a good player but we dont need another injury prone player

A lot of players i would like at Arsenal but a lot are not really available, unless of course the fee was to big to refuse. I think we should stay with our 1st choices, Toney and Neto.
