Susan West Without your skates, find a mark somewhere, look at it, keep looking at it while turning as much as you can, then turn your head back around look for that same mark. Or you can research the ballet and jazz dance technique websites and look for the subject on spotting. After practice, just apply it when you got on your sk8s.
@@debstanbra369 just how I do in dance, you can spot if you want when turning so you won't get dizzy. Spotting is just focusing on that one spot while turning so you won't get dizzy.

You pointed out that you need to keep your chin up and have straight posture. I immediately realized that is my problem. I cant wait to try it again this Saturday.

I love spinning! When I was a girl, I set up a roller rink in my basement, cause the cement was super smooth! My favourite was doing figure eights! Being left handed, I would also wipe out a bit when, I was going from left to right. So I would use the basement poles as support, to swing around! Then I got so use to the rhythm, and comfortable with the transferring, after about 10-20mins I didn't need the poles for support. The rhythm just helped me to keep my balance, as my muscles just remembered how to turn. Where I lived, it would be super cold for half the year, so my basement, kept me happy. I once got these super awesome PAC-MAN đ roller skates for my 7th birthday. They where a size too small. But I still put them on, and did a lap around the neighbourhood! So painful, but worth it. They where dark navy blue, with yellow see threw wheels! I ended up giving them away, to my neighbour. I still think about them sometimes,đ„. I want to roller skate now! Thanks for the awesome video! Thank you for this lesson; Years ago I locked wheels and fell flat face forward because I was skating too fast to go into a spin. Knocked my upper teeth loose and I stopped spinning or half spin. I just skate straight due to my fear.

I live in a town with roughish roads and good weather. But I'm afraid of the cops coz they turned the sirens on for me and stopped right next to me when I had no helmet on my bike. So I'm scared what they'll say when I'm practicing on skates đ we have such huge road space tho coz our town small, barely anyone lives here.

I found a pair at good will the wheels light up I cleaned them and drew on them I put water color on the shoelaces and let them sit for a day and washed them out they look so good 0w0

I get SO dizzy so quickly. I keep my head up (which helps), and stop and bounce or close my eyes to reset but its hard for me to do much of spin without having to reorintate afterwards. After a spin or two I feel sick. Any comments, experiences, or suggestions much appreciated!

This just gave me a lightbulb moment. I remember from skate training, they taught us the heal-to-toe technique. Didn't realise it lead to spinning.

Wear a helmet while skating and they probably wouldnât say anything. Also then you have some protection on your head if you fall.
