This movie was a very fascinating watch cuz the tone can shift from satire to utter tragedy which come to think of it is actually a nice balance when you think about the actual trauma that the movie focuses on. The cast is nothing short of brilliant. Each give a masterclass in acting. But Natalie in particular has a scene that I think is the best of her career. And Charles Melton, whom I'm never watched before, gives a heartbreaking and nuanced and extraordinary performance. He's the soul of the movie and he brought me to tears. I truly think he deserves an Oscar nod. And the writing has this nice mix of melodrama and satire and a very palpable sadness. Overall, one of the best films I've seen this year.

I believe that all three leads gave strong performances. Charles Melton probably has the most likely chance to win the Oscar just because Moore's and Portman's category are so competitive this year, but I hope they get a nomination at least.

this movie is incredibly well made when it comes to looking at the aftermaths of being a victim of gr00ming. the way Charles Melton portrayed being mentally stuck and still till this day, bowing down to his gr00mer /partner - the way he held his body, you could just SEE trauma sitting within being stored in his body. his posture as well. even his gut. i mean he is usually a very lean guy, but here they let him have a soft belly and a TINY gut and to me, that just was an added layer of how a lot of times trauma is stored in the gut and we have guy issues and stress goes directly to the belly, and that plus bad posture - it was just really well made. the way he cry talked as she turned it all on him saying HE seduced her.... ugh 😭
the way natalie's character used him! she knew he was mentally stuck and therefore all his s3xuel experience was tied to the memory of sneaking around in a dark room, and so natalie tries to do that. in a dark room. AND she says to the casting director that the young talent they cast, wasn't s3xy enough!! he is a KID he is not supposed to be. ... but that was GREAT in showing how the industry pushes this narrative gladly.
i truly hope charles wins all the awards!!! he blew me away.

@@davidlaman722 well you just put Emma on the debate and she is just in a pretentious movie that the story is beyond weird, and Carey Mulligan could’ve delivered a strong an amazing performance if she was given a single line of interesting dialogue.
