You have a really cool collection there. So many of my favorite arcades from when I was a kid, including Aliens Extermination. (Yes, I love the cabinet for this game too).
I've wanted to own one of these since I was 11. 13 years and I still cant afford it. Some day. The Alien franchise is something that I bonded with my grandfather over and it's been my favorite since I could even comprehend movies.
That’s a pretty cool game, reminds me a lot of Alien 3: The Gun, I’d definitely want to play it. I’ve got the JAMMA boards for Konami’s Aliens and Capcom’s AvP which I really enjoy playing every so often.
Awesome looking Aliens game John. I have been a fan of Global VR ever since I got a PGA Golf Tour cabinet (PC based game) by them... it holds it's own against Golden Tee in my opinion.
That game looks cool man, kind of reminds me of a way better terminator 2 like how the guns are attached to the cabinet. Looking forward to the next restore vid, cheers
Got the ALIENS ARMAGEDDON cab by my area, but I haven't been over to play it for a few months. I'd have wished that the Extermination cab had the same big screen setup as this one does. At least Terminator did.
Im from Phillipines and i used to live near Ever mall on qc and id spend hours and hours playing this game it was one of the first games i played and loved. But in 2012we movedin rodriguez and fron then and now idont see the game anymore. And that sucks
Tekken 2 looks like a Playstation One era game because it runs on a Playstation One. Namco System 11 was based on the Playstation One, the reason why many of the games port so well to that system.
Edit: (After doing a quick bit of checking GLOBAL VR licensed a few of EA games francaises for the arcade, my bad.) Global VR I believe are related to EA games. One other game they released is Need for Speed Underground. It's quite fun in an arcade environment.
This is right around the time NVidia started making lead free GPUs (starting with the 7000 series), and those were failure prone for a few generations. I wonder what card this game uses. Hopefully it's either an older 6000 series or an ATI. I wonder why the video cable is hooked up to the DVI connector with an adapter, instead of just plugged into the VGA port. Those rigid, single piece adapters are finicky IMO, they start to lose contact sometimes. I wouldn't trust them long term on any PC that I have to come back to support. There are DVI->VGA cables that eliminate the need for an adapter, but that's assuming this monitor actually has a plug on the back and isn't hardwired.
Why don't you do segments on the hangar and the other Arcade? On the games you get when you pick them up and how much you pay for them and repairs and installing would be interesting. Can you explain the relationship you have with the bar owner as well how does this work out!
I say he should make 2 videos per week and use, donations from us and ADS from to increase his earnings and have a good reason to start uploading more ;)
Good day ! There is a question. We have the same game, but pistols stopped displaying sights. They don't want to calibrate. However, they are recognized on the system at boot. Have you faced such a problem? Thanks for the answer )
Pretty much so. Starting around the Mid 1990's arcades began moving away from PCB Style hardware, some games like Tekken was on a platform based on PlayStation One, and Dance Dance Revolution ran on a modified for Jamma PlayStation 2. Then around the mid-2000's, they all started to include a PC, but the games were made to require exact hardware in order to work. Now a days they mostly run on some form of Linux.
Ammo management: Always a concern, however, the reason that there are REAL assault weapons is that they are large, heavy, belt fed automatic firearms. The M4, with it's burst mode [full auto M-16's were a joke in actual automatic mode and hence replaced], and CERTAINLY the AR-15, are NOT - and require great levels of ammo management. Gun rant over, this game looks pretty good!
How does the cabinet wiring work in a cabinet with a pc? What do the coin doors connect to so that the pc knows you put in money? Just curious how all of that works.
is it a light gun game or a joystick with a gun mounted on it ie hold your hand in front of the gun does it still track? if it tracks with hand in front of gun then a flat panel could work with the game
It's basically an analog controller. There's 2 pots that control the movement of each gun and they're connected to a small PCB in the control panel that converts it to USB. A bit after 2006 Global VR did release an LCD version.
I remember playing this game as a kid in like 2012 or something. Can't forget tje experience
I miss going to the arcades in the 80's but watching your videos John brings me back.
You have a really cool collection there. So many of my favorite arcades from when I was a kid, including Aliens Extermination. (Yes, I love the cabinet for this game too).
Dude i was thinking about this arcade yesterday and it is badass. Congrats! That one is sooo cool.
I've wanted to own one of these since I was 11. 13 years and I still cant afford it. Some day. The Alien franchise is something that I bonded with my grandfather over and it's been my favorite since I could even comprehend movies.
The is an awesome cabinet. Love the green trim on it. Really makes it pop.
I miss your weekly videos
Arcade Jason is awesome !
Not the same as this channel "once was", but Jason shows and explains more of the tech side of it.
he is awesome...not as gregarious as John, but awkwardly awesome in his technical way.
Meow. Hissss
Love the spontaneous videos, John. Your camera work is fine. Just whip it out and go for it!
Thanks, Mark. :)
John's Friendly Fire Arcade! 🤣
Thanks for sharing John, looks like a fun game!
That was a really fun game, I remember spending tons of coins beating it. Well worth it 👍
New video! Just saw a thread on klov about you and how you haven't made a video in a while. Thanks for the update.
Johnny,
i played and saw this game at Sunset Bay Beach Club in Irving, New York when i was small!
Thanks for this new video. Looking forward for the next mortal kombat restore video :-)
That’s a pretty cool game, reminds me a lot of Alien 3: The Gun, I’d definitely want to play it. I’ve got the JAMMA boards for Konami’s Aliens and Capcom’s AvP which I really enjoy playing every so often.
Used to play Aliens arcade a ton in Sweden a couple of years back.
Awesome looking Aliens game John. I have been a fan of Global VR ever since I got a PGA Golf Tour cabinet (PC based game) by them... it holds it's own against Golden Tee in my opinion.
You guys have some nice games in there, nice addition.
That aliens cabinet is amazing 👍
I'm glad I saw this. I heard the newer games just used cheap riced office pcs but I never actually saw the internals. That's awesome!
That game looks cool man, kind of reminds me of a way better terminator 2 like how the guns are attached to the cabinet. Looking forward to the next restore vid, cheers
Neat. Ya ever thought of a sit in star wars trilogy, that thing always drew the crowds at chuck e cheese back in the day.
Got the ALIENS ARMAGEDDON cab by my area, but I haven't been over to play it for a few months. I'd have wished that the Extermination cab had the same big screen setup as this one does. At least Terminator did.
I like it pal and it would be interesting to see how well it performs.
Welcome back
How long we waiting for you.
Im so happy
Cheers

I own one of these and I'm currently dismantling it right now to bring it down to the basement

Im from Phillipines and i used to live near Ever mall on qc and id spend hours and hours playing this game it was one of the first games i played and loved. But in 2012we movedin rodriguez and fron then and now idont see the game anymore. And that sucks
Cool game, John!

Should go to the pinball show in Allentown PA right now
aliens is a great game!

My local Chuck e Cheese got this a couple months ago lol
this machine looks sick 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Awesome video. Not quite as exciting to see a pc than some custom hardware. But that's the way things have gone.
Very cool game!
place looks packed.
4 thumbs down, why? Makes ya wanna smack people around. Cool video John! Can't wait for more of MKII...!!!
“They’re coming outta the goddamn basement!”
looking forward to you completing mortal kombat 2 lol
The final completion will take place in 2030 :P LOL
Awesome game love the colors on it, Question how much does a change machine usually go for?
Love this game.
We hope that mk2 its not short video
reconnect the light strip dude. kids go nuts for that. LOL
Ok. :)
Stay Frosty!
That's me. (*>*)

Didn't I just do one? :)
@John's Arcade How did you own an Aliens Extermination cabinet?
Sweet game!!!!
Hey John. I know you're busy with your other channel/podcasts but us "commoners" on this channel miss you.
I'm right here. :)
I miss the weekly videos as well, but I also understand he’s probably burned out after doing it for so long.
I say he should make 2 videos per week and use, donations from us and ADS from to increase his earnings and have a good reason to start uploading more ;)
If every subscriber would pay a dollar per video, im sure he would have time for more vids :D
SpainTech I would pay more for 1 video per day
I can play shooter games in VR using an Oculus Rift at home or play that game that uses a 2006 pc running windows xp.
Does anyone know if aliens extermination comes apart to be moved?
preferred AvP on the jaguart
Did you remember to close the coin mech door in front after you stopped filming the video??
Good day ! There is a question. We have the same game, but pistols stopped displaying sights. They don't want to calibrate. However, they are recognized on the system at boot. Have you faced such a problem? Thanks for the answer )
Hey John. I have one question. All the new arcade has PC inside instead of PCB?.
Now a days they mostly run on some form of Linux.
cwgraham So that is the why the arcade games has a PC inside instead their traditional pcb. Thanks for information my friend, I did't know that.

The M4, with it's burst mode [full auto M-16's were a joke in actual automatic mode and hence replaced], and CERTAINLY the AR-15, are NOT - and require great levels of ammo management.
Gun rant over, this game looks pretty good!
Wonder of theres anyway to get that alien game on mame
My bad . John said this is a bonus video.
What a game
what watch is that?
How does the cabinet wiring work in a cabinet with a pc? What do the coin doors connect to so that the pc knows you put in money? Just curious how all of that works.
I dunno. Some sort of an interface board like my Silver Strike Bowling
Hey John, how’s it going? Looks like you are the only operator at the Hanger now?
Nick Marrone That Star Wars pin is the other guy’s.
is it a light gun game or a joystick with a gun mounted on it ie hold your hand in front of the gun does it still track? if it tracks with hand in front of gun then a flat panel could work with the game
by flat panel i mean lcd / led
You know. That's a good question. I'll look.
They released this again in 2009 with a LCD so i'd assume its a Joystick game.
It's basically an analog controller. There's 2 pots that control the movement of each gun and they're connected to a small PCB in the control panel that converts it to USB. A bit after 2006 Global VR did release an LCD version.
A flat CRT? That's a very hard to find transitional technology.
I think Raw Thrills makes the “Fast n’ furious” driving games, not global vr.
Could be.
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech Could be, but you know, Google searching doesn't work like it used to, so we may never know. Lol.
Clone that hard drive if you can!
Apparently bonus means. .... Idk like stuff .
Cool game, hope to find here in Europe some day.
Cool just a PC inside. Is this emulated yet?
I've seen someone on YT emulate it, but it doesn't look 100%.
AWEsome machine guns!! the rings. Explain yourself
No
I think I saw a guy in the background buying chicken wings.
Could it really be him..?
Didn't you say during your Raw Thrills visit that you never wanted to own a pc based game?
Well, I already do. My Silver Strike is PC based. :)
Hey John why aren't you working on the mortal Kombat 2
0:47 - tekken is still relevant right? (Crickets chirp). Maybe people who like early fighting games with moon jumps. Do people still play tekken?
Tekken 7 just sold millions so maybe...
It's on consoles still. So... yeah?
I still really enjoy a round of Tekken 3 and Soul Calibur. I’ve not really liked any of the sequels since though.
Pulse Rifles
Ever played sky shark? It's a romstar game.
Yes. :)
Would you say $1000 is fair for this game?
Aqui no Brasil e 4'59 pra jogar
My bad.
I’m building Lego guns in i’m building the pulse rifle
UGH! The Hanger! The Yoko Ono of John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech...where your hobby became work....ugh!
Hope you didn't pay too much, because that isn't the original PC it came with.
How so?
You said in your last vid....you wanna take a long break
SHHHHHHH.... do not say that outloud.... we are all waiting for him to release a video every day :)
no twice a day thank you ! haha
Tekken 3 is better than Tekken 2... on PS1 at least...
Tekken 2 sucks! haha, it really does! Get Tekken tag at lease!
