  • Best protective gear for Enduro | KNOX
    In this video, we give a run down of the best gear for Enduro riding from KNOX.
    Enduro riding is one of the most challenging types of motorcycle riding, with constant crashes, changing conditions, and is very physically involving.
    Therefore, the protective gear we choose needs to match!
    The right set up would offer great protection, be super lightweight, flexible, have great moisture management properties and would dry rapidly once wet or washed.
    The set up we present in this video offers exactly that and is a honed outfit from the Knox collection that is perfectly suited to riding Enduro in all conditions. When the weather turns bad, simply add a shell from the Knox Seasonless Collection.

    I use the same gear under MX for trail riding and regularly on the street with my Supermoto. Game changing in all kinds of weather with the ability to layer.
    Echoing others, boots are important. Need to be stiffer. Sidi and A* make great stuff, I prefer the Tech 7.

    I love the shirt - when doing more woods riding I tend to put a fox rooster guard over to help with tree branch deflection. For more dual sport - just the jacket. Love it - thousands of miles on mine already. Boots - listen to everyone that does enduro - definitely not a place to skimp - and the feel does develop after a few hours. And waterproof socks work best if doing creek crossings - as waterproof only works when it doesn’t go over the boot. 😅.

    I like full on motocross boots for all my riding (Sidi fits me well). No floppy ankle boots around here. I'm old and gimpy, I want all the best gear to keep riding as long as I can without doing myself in or chalking up more injuries.

    Hey Aaron, whatever you do, I recommend a real MX boot. I've been seeing a lot of sales on the Sidi Crossfire 3s, which can be a forever boot if you take care of it. If you have wider feet, check out the Gaerne SG12s. Alpinestars Tech 7s are actually not bad to walk around in and can be well vented if you can find a pair that isn't drystar... or if you want the drystar lining, perfect.

    • @KnoxArmour
      @KnoxArmour  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Thanks, I did buy the Tech 7's waterproof, but they were about as waterproof as a sieve, so I sent them back. In the end, I bought the Forma Terra Evo boots www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/374710. More waterproof, excellent feel (like a trials boots), but yes, less protection than the Astars ones... Always a compromise, but Im fairly happy so far. Thanks, Aaron KNOX

    Now that Aaron is riding enduro I hope we finally get the bright coloured Urbane/Utility shirts some of us are waiting for. 😃
    Honestly, all this black is murder in the scorching summer on the continent. Anything bright and hi-viz just works better for safety and comfort on multiple levels: visibility on and off-road + less heat absorption.

    Hi Aaron, nice video, thx. I myself am just an adv rider, not enduro one. I have been using mk3 pro and Knox gloves an I am very happy w it, did more than 10k km in it either as top layer in heat or underlayer under my warmer and/or waterproof layers in colder and rainy Scandinavian weather.
    I am actually writing this in hospital, stupid as it sounds but I slid on a muddy track and fell down in such way that I hit the ground straight with the ONLY unprotected part, eg side if my chest and broke a few ribs as result. So i started my research on chest protection, coz i wanna keep riding but also want to avoid another icu visit 😊 What would u recommend in this department? MK3 to my knowledge does not have pockets for chest protectors. Any other way? Thx and hv great riding!

    This is great timing…..I’m in the market for this stuff (a full kit) right now….. but I’m based in the South of France, and it’s proper hot, dry, dusty weather. I guess that means online ordering, so sizing is an issue - I’m 6ft 4” with large shoulders and long arms, so what sizes should I go for (how to the sizes come up)? Do you sell the oNiell pants too? Also, best non leather gloves for large hands?

    • @KnoxArmour
      @KnoxArmour  Před rokem +1

      Hi Alan, the sizing is quite true to size. I was wearing Medium in this video. I am 5'9" with a 42" chest, which would generally put me as a Large, but having lost a bit of weight, the Medium actually fits me better. The sizing for the action pro shirt is here and is based on chest size - www.planet-knox.com/product/mens-action-pro-shirt/.
      No, we dont sell the Oneil pants.
      The Orsa OR3 gloves in the video are non leather and one of our most popular in the collection. www.planet-knox.com/product/orsa-textile-mk3-gloves-or3-black/

    great video, but I got to disagree on a lot of fronts here. black, no way for enduro. based on your vids, your enduro is way diff than what we have in utah. You want the stiffest most uncomfortable boots. I would NEVER wear black in utah enduro. and I ran a 450 for many years, so glad to be on a 2 stroke for the past few years. my strategy is every water crossing or if there is any nice running water around, I dunk my head and neck gator as much as possible. and soak as much of my clothes as I can to deal with the heat. I run very hot and snowbiking in 0 degrees, usually only have a shell to block the wind/wet...if we are working hard on the bike.
