That's way out of context. She said that when you play a character for 9 years, that character becomes a part of you. So that part of Jenna that is Pam and that part of John that is Jim are genuinely in love with each other but she never said that John and her were in love. Sadly...

Joyce Gibbs John had to deny information that was given to him by an interviewer. Like the other comment said, it was taken way out of context. Jenna never said she and John were genuinely in love, but she said the Pam part and Jim part were.

I own a media company. It happens with actors all the time. A lot of them tend to be tormented internally and can have a hard time with personal relationships. Primarily because they have to really pour a lot of energy and focus into being in love with someone 8 sometimes 12 hours a day for a shoot, then they have to go home to their spouses and try to exist there like “normal,” even though the person at home is the one they sometimes spend the least amount of their day with.
I have a few actor friends who have lost marriages to the curse, that said; that’s the difference between big professional actors who can completely compartmentalize vs those who can’t. (Which is much easier on a one-time movie shoot than a 9 year long series).
I'm so mad that John and Emily are such a cute couple, because I SHIP HIM AND JENNA SO MUUUUUCH AND I FEEL BAD ABOUT IT 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

They obviously do have strong feelings for each other. There’s only so much acting you can do, I’ve had female friends where we do love each other but we’ve never dated. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a strong connection there.
