Im sure its reprinted "models" from Fantasy Battle that were sold in red cardboard with WARHAMMER logo in front and plastic enclosure. Dont know if there were other trays produced.
If you get corners and edge pieces left over, you can buy Polystyrene Sheets in A4 format for almost nothing, of course you won't get the grid pattern on them, but you can easily do that yourself if you want it, either by carving it with a sharp object or by painting it.
That’s a good idea that!
I ended up using 4 corners on the first one I built didn’t read the instructions or realise the back is normally open, makes sense now
Tbh I would have done exactly the same had I not looked into it a bit more. - although I do feel like having the lip all the way around it looks smarter
Considering GW started out making D&D toys, it fits. ;)
I never knew that! That’s today’s digging sorted!
well a dafaly look at me i ues wood back when old cigare boxes thay ok and ues to put stuff in but this looks goood and yes some paint will be good see as you do new
As a concept they’re cool, however once they’ve been cut it’s one and done, I did think of alternatives and wondered if a sheet of card stock would be a cheaper alternative
I am surprised GW did not provide rules for multi basing. Multi basing is so easy and allows for some truly beautiful looking units. I just did a test base of a Tomb King archers standing over a topped obelisk. It looked amazing but It looks like GW just wants boring old looking units.
I’d like to see more sculpted bases however thy would have to make quite a few for different sizes (then for different size bases) - it’s a shame they don’t do a themed basing kit for you to add some character
The problem with scenic multi-basing is that Old World still has the "remove models as casualties" concept. Unlike Kings of War, where you remove whole units when they break. Makes it hard to do .
Though it makes it easier to fit in ranks, I think the increase of human sized bases from 20 to 25mm is a cynical ploy to force owners of old armies to either buy new models or at least buy new bases for their old models.
@@durzod2052 it's not hard to set a counter beside a unit but GW doesn't think that way.
It's too bad they didn't move to base size/frontage like most every other rank+flank game. But it makes sense, if they had that they couldn't sell you as many models.
There is a playerbase, like me, that do not like the look of multibases, it looks kinda chaotic and want it straight rank and file and uniform.
These are the same as the old ones and the price jump is extortionate
Any idea what they used to cost?
@@cat_or_rabbit around £10 I believe
@@virusofnurgle6896 I’ll grab 2 at that price!
@@virusofnurgle6896 10 was the price for a single sheet though
It was £10 but only for 1 sheet, it's now £25 for 2 sheets. £2.50 increase per sheet isn't particularly extortionate
