Who would have thought the tambourine was such a complex instrument
My eldest daughter is a drummer and my youngest is a bassist in church.
But I love tambourine, I play it in our church.
Thank you for this vid. I learned a new technique.
Very awesome 💚
This guy is the Bob Ross of percussive instrument playing : )
pro tip: watch movies at Flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@Jared Bronson yup, I've been watching on flixzone for since december myself =)
“There’s a happy little tambourine.”
Please shut up
Thank you, thank you! I’m and old-ish woman musician - piano, guitar and flute. I have always ALWAYS wanted to be a percussionist and I’ve just never had a chance to learn (ie no teacher.) I’ve lost my entire family so I now live alone and am free to do what I want and I am learning something crazy fun from your videos! I’ll never be pro, but because of you, I can entertain myself and I even get to join in on some gigs with friends. Rhythm is everything and starting with egg shakers to larger cylindrical shakers and now tambourine, I am rocking my house every day. I keep an egg everywhere I go and even play in the car! So thankful for your instructions - so simple, even *I* can get it. I think it’s also really good to tone the saggy bits on my arms! This is my new meditation tool. You’re the best.
Happy to be of service and glad to hear about your new passion.
I appreciate this... super quick lesson but very easy to pick up and go. Also, the instructor has such a comforting tone and pleasant demeanor. Easy ROI on this tutorial. My journey with the tambourine begins today, 7.26.2023❤
I've been practicing tambourine hardcore for years. I can shred on it.
Thanks. I appreciate it. I play it on my right leg in church. Mic is in my left hand. I am just teaching myself. Glad for the tips.
This man is flor gang
Floor gang augh
😊
Is math related to science? 🙌🏼
Two other things I like to do: "pinch" the tambourine in the playing hand and rattle it quickly back and forth, for a shimmy sound; also, play the individual jingles using a thumb stroke for a filler sound. Good solid techniques you practice, and you always have great videos.
Thank you!
❤thank you so much!! I've been searching for hours for a teacher 🎉. You're the best!!
Picked up a tambourine as some hope to get into a jam friendly percussion instrument. Thanks for your lesson.

This man is part of floor gang. I’m proud of him. :)
Thank you so much for your videos. I’m an actor and have been cast in a show where I’ve been asked to play bongos, the tambourine & shakers in a scene..my character is musically inclined but I myself have zero interest experience. Your videos have helped me immensely.
The first tambourine is a sign of tambourine tower getting to moon!
Hi bro
7:25 to 7:52
He is enjoying this video more then we are 😂
I just watch a bunch of pewdiepe playing tambourine, now this is in my reccomendation
Woah! So cool and cute. Didn'y know that the angle changes the sound... can't wait to play mine tomorrow.
I searched tambourine for my VIOLIN exam and now I am watching the legit tambourine :)
Thank you Master to sharing
Tambourine taming
God bless you more.
Fantastic lesson! Many thanks!
As always, very good explanations. Thanks ;)
Super super super lovely playing
Augustine violinist from Malaysia
I was a tamborine player in the Salvation Army for ten years. What he is teaching is incredibly simplistic and not in the least bit advanced compared to what we used to do. We used to thumb roll it, twirl it on our fingers using the thumb hole (which these don't have) and wave them all over the place. It was a bit like aerobics with a timbril (posh name for tamborine).
OK we get it, you're a tambourine God. Although, nowhere in the video title/description does it claim to be an advanced tutorial...
9:55 watch one more time, right and continue to do it fast. Just do it really slow so that someone who hasn't done this before gets the movement
GREAT TUTORIAL! Thank you for sharing!
You have a gift to teach.
Very helpful video. Thank you!
Thank you for this lesson! It’s great!!!
very good job, truly the sky is the limit!!
The best tamborine lesson on YT !!!
Awesome! Thanks!
Great tutorial!!
Thank you for the tambourine tutorial that I can learn. I am a newbie in playing it, and the favorite type of tambourine I wanted is the round one because I can dance with it and customize it.
Thank you for the instructions 😀.
marvelous, thank you so much Sir
I remember playing the tambourine in church. I had so much fun. 😊
This was really amazing
Awesome. Thank you!
I have to say that i find even the basic techniques a bit of a challenge to get. Except for the very basic smacking of the tambourine with the free hand. Any tips/videos on how to master those basics? Thanks for your time and efforts
Do great explanation! My first lesson ever 👍
Love this video ☺️
Great lesson. Thanks a lot. 🤠
Sooooo good!
Thanks 🤙
Excellent tutorial 👏👏👏👌👍👍😊
....Bravo Kalini!
No.1 you are today!
Wish you best!
Thanks so much and Good
I just bought a tambourine at Goodwill for $5 on a whim. Looking forward to playing it proficiently.
Listening to the tambourine in 'The end of the line' by The Traveling Wilburys got me to search the tambourine, and here I am. Now I want to buy a tambourine 🔔 Thanks.
Thanks for this. I just got a crescent-shaped model last week and this is a helpful starting point.
This is GREAT! I've always played it when needed and just picked up a ton of work doing Beatles. When not playing keys I'm on the tambourine. It's almost like kriya yoga keeping it. Super neat O getting the percussion side of the game going more strong
Happy to help!
So much information, thank you so very much.
My pleasure
This is going to help me a lot. Thank you
Good tutorial
Thanks 👍
Thank you bro
Thank you. Playing tambourine by myself is so much better than writing it in Ez Drummer :)
Absolutely
Thank you! Wondering now about mic placement
Thanks
Thank you so excited got my first half moon tambourine for church ⛪️ thanks for quick lesson 😊
I would love to see/hear him play to church music!!! I know he can get dow❤❤❤
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you so much.
Hi.bro
My pleasure. Thank you
Only floor gang knows
FLOOR GANG OUH!
FLOOR GANG OUH! FLOOR GANG OUH!
Ceiling gang cringe
I just got a tambourine
AOOH!
Soooo good🎉
I love it
I added this syncopatic technique to my teaching on the shaker. One can generate polyrhythms just by mechanically (brainless) combing little algorithms to varying pattern-structures, letting them train your rhythm feeling and expand it to complexity, instead of having to grasp the idea of the addition-pattern in advance.
amazing
Good Examples👍🏼
Great channel and content. Hello from Japan ♦️
I picked up this exact tambourine for $10 at Music Go Round. I'm practicing it now; it sounds amazing. Great tutorial.
Hi bro
Thank you
Excellent lesson. Thank you.
I played the tambourine before too so great video/tutorial❤😊
Thank you. Mong bạn cho thêm nhiều video hướng dẫn sử dụng và các tiết tấu cho Tambourine nữa nhé

The Middle-Eastern Tambourine beat is hard toget!
Hi bro
K.C. & The Sunshine Band had a great tambourine player
I never thought I would be interested in something like this 👀
If you put the video at 2x speed he sounds like ben shapiro
Its really late and i wanted to watch the video quicker.
Nice
Kalani, I am interested in a video on playing the tambourine in a dance setting, where you use other parts of your body, like striking the tambourine on the hip, etc. Do you have specific techniques for other body parts? Thanks!
As a percussionist and performer / recording artist, I was not personally exposed to, nor did I require, any “body” techniques, but I don’t see why you couldn’t adapt some of these to other parts. I think the playing on one’s hip, is more of a singer thing, possibly born out of the TV era and doing live shows.
I always hit it on my thigh. It sounds good too. Thanks for this video :)
Thanks so much. Please upload more videos of tambourine and maracas :) God bless you
The tambourine reminds me of times when I have a pocket full of change.
Wow
I sing in my church choir & there's 4 of us no instruments, just our voices. I really wanted to incorporate the tambourine, I myself would be playing it. What do you recommend? I've been watching some of your videos.
And suggestions on a good moon shaped all around tambourine I can play with my rockin’ 80’s band?
I love to teach my church children.
❤💫
I didn’t know I was playing the tambourine incorrectly. What is your tough on the hand clap method where the player raise to tambourine in the air and strike it like the person was basically hand clapping.
I wouldn't call it "incorrect". He just showed some of the basic techniques to start with and didn't say anything else was wrong.
My thought is that your style is very visual, assuming you do this over your head. The challenge is to do it tightly in beat, which is not necessarily a priority. Smaller movements help you keep more in control and save energy. If you move the tambourine down to waist level you're close to what he showed first. Moving only the striking hand saves energy and gives you more control of the rattle. Other than that, there's nothing to say you can't enjoy your variant. Keep musical!
We bring tambourine s to our Kareoke bar ! Lol and we ( the old rowdy women try to sing rolling stone s. Lol life s for living. Enjoy it more. Namaste love and Light and music 💜🌄🎡⛱🏠🥁🎹🎧🍕⛄️🌙🌸🦒✌️🎹🎧
I bet he's on the floor
Ok so my phone added the word “interest” and to clarify-I have zero experience but am definitely interested. I hate autocorrect. Thanks again.

❤❤❤❤
Thank you, mr. Kalani. How should I play to keep shaking and hitting not too far away from each other loudness wise?
Hi bro
Well. That tambourine is a lot less corny than I thought it was.
