In my opinion, "El Paso" is one of the greatest songs ever written. Beautiful lyrics and phrasing by Marty that paint a vivid picture.

2024 here. Young people still love this, I'm 22 at a large public uni. You don't get this kind of storytelling anymore.

This song managed to condense a book that would take me a week to read and a movie that would take me two hours to watch into about five minutes of enjoyment. Absolute legend.

And Rosa's Cantina still stands. I live in this West Texas Town and I love their Mexican food along with a few cold imported Mexican beers to go with it! Y'all need to come and check it out sometime!

I’m a metal fan… But there is something amazing about this whole album. It tells stories in a way none of the progressive metal songs I like could. You see these stories in your head. They play like short films in your mind as you listen. I adore this kind of songwriting. No hidden meanings, no overly complex stuff. Just pure storytelling.

The border between USA and Mexico is where two cultures merge, and this song is an example. With many features shared with the mexican corrido. Telling a complete human story that usually ends tragically. Also the vocalization remembers this style. A great composition and video!

Unbelievable live performance. No tricks, no gimmicks, no "enhanced" vocals, just sheer talent. Love Marty's guitar playing and his singing is exquisite. Super trio harmonies and what else do you want?!!!!

No autotune, nothing but his guitar and voice.

  • @Cheerfultoday

I have seen Marty Robbins in several recorded live videos. He never missed a note, never strained to hit it. What an incredible voice and an amazing singer. I’m a fan for life.
