I. have A. Shoebox at. Home filled with. ticket. , stubs close. To. One hundred concerts .THE. Moody. Blues was 1 of the top. 5. BEST. SHOWS. ,I. HAVE EVER. SEEN , AND.
RIP Regis and Ray. This is one of the few groups that has pretty much stayed together for almost 50 years now. Still watch them on YT and grew up loving their music...50 years, now I feel old! Love the younger people getting to know our music, some of the best ever!
she was correct when she called them the class act of rock&roll! couldn't agree more! still sound great right off the cuff! pure talent each and every one of them!
DoofsterDan umm... sorry to correct... but they struggled with "over dubbing" songs... which they could not perform live... they very limited it in later albums...
It doesn't matter if they aren't in the R&R HOF. Kathie Lee said it all when she said, "You guys are the class act of rock and roll." That's all that matters.
My twin and I saw The Moody Blues at Starplex in Dallas. She ran up the center isle and took a close look at Justin. She came back, and I said I'm going to go run up the isle and see him. He probably thought some silly girl was running up and down the isle all night.
I have never seen this before! It is great! They can just play right there in the studio without getting all set up and sound so great! Just one more reason, as far as I am concerned, why they are the best ever. And I am sure I will love seeing them in a couple of weeks!
I have seen these guys several times. I love Hayward's voice, they harmonize beautifully, they are just about perfection. I really miss Ray Thomas. I did get to see Ray sing Painted Smile/ Reflective Smile/ Veteran Cosmic Rocker and it was awesome. His flute gave their songs a hauntingly beautiful quality. (Timothy Leary, Nights In White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon etc.) Their music painted pictures. They may not be the hardest rock and rollers, but they don't need to be. Actually they are The Moody Blues and nobody else. A lot of bands sound like someone else, not these guys.
So very sad that Ray will not be able to be at the induction ceremony in person. Godspeed Sir Ray! You and your music and the Moodies in all of their incarnations, brought so much to so many. Dearly missed, already. R.I.P. Maybe the people that organize and run the ROCK and ROLL HALL of FAME will take note and change things. A band that was selected when I was raising a family in the 80's is now getting in, while many acts (talented as they may be, but not ROCK i.e. NWA, Donna Summer etc.) are already there!
That goes double and triple for me. Justin is incredibly talented both as a songwriter and as a singer. Thankfully, they are now in the R&R Hall of Fame where they truly deserve to be.
Sucks these guys will be gone in the next decade. When I loved them, they were in their late 40s. Felt like they'd be around forever. Jeff Beck, most recent rock icon gone.
They're so classy, I just love the MBs! I saw them live almost 4 months ago and they still sound as good as they did when they started. Justin's voice still melts my heart, just like it did when I was 12 and I heard "Nights" for the first time. It put me in a trance then and it still does.
I can't think of any other group that can sound that good, just sitting around on a morning talk show! Really great musicians; one can tell they've been performing together for a long time... Although I do miss Mike on the mellotron.
Why did it take until now for them to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? Note: They never inducted Chicago, ELO , Steve Miller, and Journey until just recently as well!
Proof of ownership--and incredible ability: 4 acoustic instruments and unmodulated voices that absolutely rock! They don't need the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I think Genesis, Rush and especially Yes finally getting in it will start the trend for more of these "out there" bands getting in. I think next will be the Moody Blues and Jethro tull.
Rest in peace Ray & Graham we miss you. We still love The Moody's going to see John Lodge end of the Month will see Justin at some point. We got to see the Moody Blues 25 times plus over the years. Our favorite group...
I have been a fan since I was 18-long time ago. Had all their music. They are timeless and will always be remembered. It was amazing to hear Justin sing that song with no orchestra. His voice is still amazing. Not to mention Ray on his flute!! Thanks for posting !
Easily the greatest "thinking man's rock" band of all time, and easily my favorite. My mom and Graeme died on the same day, and for all intents and purposes, the Moody Blues died that day, too. Anyone who knows me knows how ironic that is...
Just watching this now, in 2023 is just delightful!!!! I love them!!! They got me through a lot of sad times and great times!!! And for that I thank them... 💙💙💙💙.... 🌹🌹🌹🌹......
So WHAT GOES????? They sound and look great!! Another one who has totally outlasted both Elvis and Sinatra is Tom Jones!! You oughta see these guys live in concert, I"m tellin ya, fuckin incredible!!
One of the best bands of all time. Wish I could "preserve them" so they would never age!! Come to think of it, would like to do that with myself as well! ;) This band was incredible, no other words to describe them, and I "discovered" them late, but better late than never, saw them at least 12 times in concert, kept trying to get Justins attention, just KNEW we would be the perfect couple, if I only TRIED A LITTLE HARDER!!!! :D Oh well.
Just great. Can you think of anyone who could perform live, as they did, and replicate music recorded in studio and/or in concert as well and as true as that performance of Tuesday Afternoon? I cannot, specially remembering that Tuesday Afternoon was recorded over TWENTY SEVEN years prior to that performance on Regis and Kathie Lee. Kathie Lee said it all at the very end, INCREDIBLE!!!
Beautiful! To see the Moodies perform up close & personal in intimate setting is incredible. They all can play & sing just as awesome sitting down, as well as standing up as we usually see them in concerts. They don't always need an orchestra, humongous amps, big stage & crowds to perform so incredible & memerizing. I've seen some vids of Justin performing solo on guitar and he's absolutely amazing!
Incredible group of musicians! What took so long to get them in the Rock and Roll HOF? They should have been inducted the first year that they became eligible! Moody Blues we are so glad that you finally made it, and so sorry that politics kept you out.
Rip 🙏 RP & RT & GE. Gone never forgotten. Moody Blues a classy band. Loved this band when I discovered them about the age of 16 or oider.. Justin Hayward I marvel at his talent & musical abilities. Blown away. The orchestra was such an original idea to back up the band. Love their music & lyrics to this day. Brings me to tears. Like the poem Late Lament wishing to be young again. Nostalgic. Justin as handsome as ever. I never tire of listening.
I don't think its so bad that our Moodies aren't in that Hall. The Moody Blues are TOO GOOD for such a sub-realm collection of white noise. That's the only conclusion to reach other than the folks who are responsible for inductions are not true to themselves! That Hall of "Shame" doesn't deserve such a band as this. We know who they are!!
Thank you for uploading this MoodyJill2! These guys are a class act, as Kathie Lee said! (I sure miss seeing this show & Regis every day ;-) But at least we're going to see the Moody Blues this year! ;-)
charles brown They are not into cultural degradation which seems to be the hallmark of the RRHF and Jan Wenner is a weiner to say the least...too good for that crap in my opinion
These guys are famous for making great music - not drugs or political nonsense or anything except being a real contributor to some of the greatest ever recorded.
Your screen does not lie...it IS his hair...it IS thin...and..SO WHAT....it looks a helluva lot better than being bald.......could you imagine how silly he would look with no hair...and by the way...dissin the Don...how many jobs has he created for people...people that are happy and pleased to be working....so WHO cares about his hair....THANK YOU DON AND JUSTIN YOUR HAIR LOOKS GREAT....!!!.
R.I.P. Ray Thomas, you were such a huge part of their success with your flute and incredible voice. We miss you!!!
I. have A. Shoebox at. Home filled with. ticket. , stubs close. To. One hundred concerts .THE. Moody. Blues was 1 of the top. 5. BEST. SHOWS. ,I. HAVE EVER. SEEN , AND.
And Regis is gone too now just recently.
@@michaelacquavella7987 LOVELY....THANK YOU.........🙏😇💖
JAY DEAR BOY.....I HAVE A MESSAGE FROM RAY FOR YOU.......HE'S NOT RESTING....HE IS BUSY ON ETERNITY ROAD ....🙏😇💖
Ray gone and now Graeme is gone too =( . Ray Passed just a few months before my Dad passed. 2018 was a very hard year for us.
RIP to Ray and Graeme. An integral part of a fantastic group who I love so much since the 60’s!!!!!!
Oh I LOVE THE MOODY BLUES! Shes right, a class act , not like today.. rest in peace Ray and Graeme..YOUR FANS LOVE AND MISS YOU
These guys play some beautiful, haunting and mellow music, just fabulous
RIP Regis and Ray. This is one of the few groups that has pretty much stayed together for almost 50 years now. Still watch them on YT and grew up loving their music...50 years, now I feel old! Love the younger people getting to know our music, some of the best ever!
Hey fanatics, The Moody Blues are to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame on April 14, 2018. Finally!
Justin Hayward one of the all time greatest song writers in my opinion. I loved the Moody Blues.
ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED AND OVERLOOKED WRITERS AND EARLY GUITAR HEROES TOO.. AM I LYING??! NO.
she was correct when she called them the class act of rock&roll! couldn't agree more! still sound great right off the cuff! pure talent each and every one of them!
Class ACT, Beautiful music

Missed Mike Pinder , with these four the real Moody Blues .
Mike should've been there.
Can't believe how great these guys sound acoustic--no electronic gadgetry!
DoofsterDan umm... sorry to correct... but they struggled with "over dubbing" songs... which they could not perform live... they very limited it in later albums...
betcha Regis and Kathy Lee have a mixer with operator bHind the shimming curtain.
I seen them in Germany and have been a fan ever since. To me they are the best band EVER.
It doesn't matter if they aren't in the R&R HOF. Kathie Lee said it all when she said, "You guys are the class act of rock and roll." That's all that matters.
So sad Ray Thomas is gone. RIP
Justin is aged, but still handsome, smart, young at heart with a BIG HEART, and gracious.
My twin and I saw The Moody Blues at Starplex in Dallas. She ran up the center isle and took a close look at Justin. She came back, and I said I'm going to go run up the isle and see him. He probably thought some silly girl was running up and down the isle all night.

I got to see Mike Pinder once and Patrick Moraz twice. But Ray Thomas all four times.
NO DOUBT!
One of the greatest. Used to put on headfones and fall asleep to the music. Beautiful
AMEN FELLOW FAN!! SAME HEAR. RAINY DAAYS.. SUNDAY AFTERNOON.. SPENT LISTENING TO STACK OF VINYL.

Justin Hayward has always been my favorite in the MB. He is the heart and soul of the MB.
What a voice Justin!!!!! Perfect!!!!!!
CLASS, TALENTED , BEST GROUP EVER. JUSTIN BEST SINGER & SONGWRITER OF ALL TIME ❤
25 years of the most enjoyable music. It's so so exciting to see.them again. Rest in peace Ray añd.Graeme. 🙏🎸💕
Love the Moody Blues!
when Tuesday afternoon came out, it was huge and I played it over and over again. Eventually my parents knew the lyrics.
I could listen to Justin Hayward sing all day! Love this clip! Thank you for posting!
And talk...he is amazing,
That goes double and triple for me. Justin is incredibly talented both as a songwriter and as a singer. Thankfully, they are now in the R&R Hall of Fame where they truly deserve to be.
Live long favorite. Beautiful band...Justin Hayward...most beautiful voice ever.
Sucks these guys will be gone in the next decade. When I loved them, they were in their late 40s. Felt like they'd be around forever. Jeff Beck, most recent rock icon gone.
Love Justin's voice...he is the best! Love the Moody Blues.

Thank you so very much for posting this! I love it! I have never heard them play without an orchestra. They are just as amazing ... all by themselves!
Wow! an unplug version of Tuesday Afternoon.
They are timeless and wonderful!
Extraordinary! Of course the Moody’s are so much more.
I can't think of any other group that can sound that good, just sitting around on a morning talk show! Really great musicians; one can tell they've been performing together for a long time... Although I do miss Mike on the mellotron.

Mike should've been there.
Love The Moodier Blues. Saw them in 05 at Radio City Music Hall. Fantastic. Love Justin and John.
Proof of ownership--and incredible ability: 4 acoustic instruments and unmodulated voices that absolutely rock! They don't need the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They finally made the Hall of Fame. in 2018.
@@iloveamberist not that they needed it.
Beatiful music ,brings back great memories.love those moody blues👍👍👍
Moody Blues for induction in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! LONG OVERDUE!
Their exclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in and of itself delegitimizes the Hall. It's as simple as that.
I think Genesis, Rush and especially Yes finally getting in it will start the trend for more of these "out there" bands getting in. I think next will be the Moody Blues and Jethro tull.
Not to mention jeff Lynn's ELO
Mike Reiss I hope so
What do you mean? ELO will be inducted this Friday.
Rest in peace Ray & Graham we miss you. We still love The Moody's going to see John Lodge end of the Month will see Justin at some point. We got to see the Moody Blues 25 times plus over the years. Our favorite group...
These guys are too classy for that cheesy Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
I have been a fan since I was 18-long time ago. Had all their music. They are
timeless and will always be remembered. It was amazing to hear Justin sing
that song with no orchestra. His voice is still amazing. Not to mention Ray on

The best group ever
coolest group ever !!!

PUT THEM IN THE HALL OF FAME! 100%
Tusday afternoon my favorite beautiful song, Moody Blues the best in music
Time changes.. we should appreciate the moment.
Thank You CZcams. It's miracle - I can see Ray Thomas alive!
Beyond words.
Pure Class!
Whats the first song in video?
Will always love this band. They have a sound that is uniquely them and it's just beautiful.
Easily the greatest "thinking man's rock" band of all time, and easily my favorite. My mom and Graeme died on the same day, and for all intents and purposes, the Moody Blues died that day, too. Anyone who knows me knows how ironic that is...
Mom liked ray Thomas playing the flute at their concert in Indianapolis. It probably reminded of her music class in school.
Just watching this now, in 2023 is just delightful!!!! I love them!!! They got me through a lot of sad times and great times!!! And for that I thank them... 💙💙💙💙.... 🌹🌹🌹🌹......
So proud to be from Brum (Birmingham UK 🇬🇧).
Wonderful, as usual. I enjoy actually hearing them sit around talking, then the unplugged performance, as you all said, was amazing! LOVED IT!
So WHAT GOES????? They sound and look great!! Another one who has totally outlasted both Elvis and Sinatra is Tom Jones!! You oughta see these guys live in concert, I"m tellin ya, fuckin incredible!!

Their rendition of Tuesday Afternoon is lovely - but man sure miss the great Mike Pinder and his mellotron! Rip Mike
I thank my brother for getting me into them.. r.i.p brother
Wow. 4 extroverts that somehow found enough humility to squeeze out greatest songs of all time-without bloodying up one another lol.
Beautiful! To see the Moodies perform up close & personal in intimate setting is incredible. They should have been inducted the first year that they became eligible! Moody Blues we are so glad that you finally made it, and so sorry that politics kept you out.
Jan Wenner is prejudiced against progressive rock groups. Still no Jethro Tull.
@howie9751 Now who is Jan Wanner?.
......And I agree bout Jethro Tull, and no Billy Idol either!!!.
Regis and Kathie Lee look so young....
Michael Lickteig lol...well... they WERE... years ago... getting old is not kind !

Moody Blues a classy band.

The Moody Blues are not in the Rock Hall of Fame. I just cannot believe that.

The best most original band
PURE CLASS
What a voice and ding!

The best of the best...Moodies!! xx
one of the top 10 rock groups of all time...and probably the classiest. early on they were considered psychedelic rock.
These guys are famous for making great music - not drugs or political nonsense or anything except being a real contributor to some of the greatest ever recorded.
Oh yeah. I've heard them both ways, with or without, and it really doesnt matter!!
great. thanks for posting.
John Lodge I worship thee
