He slid to take him OUT. You don't do that at 2nd base. Possible at home where the catcher has some protection but not with that weight behind it. You slide in like you're going to slide in to 2nd and if you knock over the guy, fine but don't slide to take him out.
He was already at the bag before he started the slide, then went straight for his legs instead of the base. It couldn't look more intentional than that. Smh.
You ppl that think that wasn't intentionally done are stupid. He slide 2 feet to the inside of the bag and didn't try to slide until he was already on top of the bag. That was picture perfect of someone trying to slide into the player no he may not of meant to hurt him but that's what happens when u slide into someone's legs
He slid to take out the Hanley to cause Hanley throw to be off, it been happening for years. Same play every runner will make going to second to try and break up a double play.
you could imagine a lot of shit. But, the Marlins can't keep those expensive guys because their franchise has no money like the bigger teams The Yankees and The Dodgers. The Marlins do have Derek Jeter now as co-owner. Maybe he'll come out of retirement to help the Marlins.
He went straight over the bag to break up the double-play. It doesn't matter if he touched second or not, as long as he was reasonably able to touch it with the slide he took, which he was. This was so unfortunate to see, but I never want baserunners to be hated for playing the game the way it's supposed to be played. It's when baserunners deliberately collide for no reason that there's a problem.
jaycopeland07 I'm a Marlins fan. And you're a dumbass if you think I said he didn't do it intentionally. It's fucking obvious he did it intentionally. I said it wasn't dirty.
The runner intentionally went for the injury there...
That runner intentionally did that. The reply at 1:40 shows how the runner changed direction and headed directly towards the fielder. UNREAL!

Dirty play
That was intentional leg break Big Time !
Yes.
When both the runner and thrower are down you know it's bad.
He did that on purpose. you can tell because he did not even hit 2nd base on the slide.
Tried to stop double play not injure him
Astros v marlins. Now that's an intense matchup!
Why are people calling the base runner a dick? This has been done for decades, Ramirez should have known and moved out of the base path.
El Teatro de Hanley
Did He Broke His Leg
Is that Hanley Ramierz
he slid over the base to hit hanely!! this guy is the tyson of baseball!
the runner missed 2nd base he went right after hanley
I don't get baseball. "Just an aggressive slide"?
Imagine if the Marlins kept Infante and Ramirez. Or just Ramirez and got Dee Gordon!
+Braden Edmondson they would so great.....
Imagine if they never traded Cabrera and still had hanley

the runner should be out he slid past the bag and was no where near it when he made contact
You are supposed to slide a little late to break up the double play. Don't talk about baseball if you don't know anything about it.
a little late? his ass hit the dirt to slide past second base. don't defend a douchebag play like that.
Ummmm you do slide to take out at second Dawn. It's been happening for 100 years
This is just one of many reasons I no longer watch MLB. It is dirty play at best....trying to hurt a player at worst.
Okay, I lol'd way too hard at this.
Anyone who says this is dirty is completely wrong.
The rules now say that's obstruction because he slid well pass the bag and didn't even touch second.

obstruction is when they touch them with there hand or run straight in to them for no reason right?
I don't mean this rude but your a dumb ass if you think he didn't slide into him deliberately I mean you have to be blind to not see that
