Having Greta and Emma in the same room is amazing. Their sense of humor is incredible.
Margot was the most humorous in this roundtable, i think she is way funnier. Her and Greta.
would love to see them together in a comedy someday!
Need emma and greta in a comedy no
Margot and Emma are rivals, they compete for roles. You won't see them together on screen ever. Maybe only if they will be in their 60s, they will be casted to play lesbian couple or something like that.
@@reylotsofrancis5404 I'm sorry, but no lol. Margot's humour is not on the same level as Emma's. Emma is dry and naturally funny. She and Greta are a great combo.
I LOVE how the moderator knows exactly when to asks and when to let the conversation spread between them. It's very natural. Love this roundtable!!
It's called:
L I S T E N I N G
She’s much better than that old dude who used to moderate these.
Well done Hollywood reporter great interview lovely flow
As Roy Keane would say: is your job
Took them a while to realize that if it’s a round table of just women, maybe they should let a woman host… and vice versa
I like how Margot always asks questions about the technicality of how they did certain things in their films. She’s there for the conversation AND to learn! Very refreshing.
I agree! It probably has a lot to do with her being a producer as well.
Is really "very refreshing"? Thanks for letting us know that.
@@clock6413 It is refreshing because sometimes these talks don’t really feel genuine or people are just waiting for their chance to speak but I didn’t feel that here.
@@ellidione9385 Most definitely 🙂
From a few interviews I’ve noticed Margot Robbie definitely is interested in the craft behind it all.
Lily Gladstone has to be one of the most well-spoken and eloquent people. You can see how engrossed everyone is when she speaks
was noticing the same. everyone is mesmerized by her presence
I noticed that too. Lily has such a magnetic aura that makes you really pay attention to whatever she says. Seems very wise and kindhearted.
She combines gravitas and empathy in a lovely way. Looking forward to seeing more from her in the years to come.
Agree! Wish the moderator had allowed her to finish her sentences and expound on her ideas and process. She certainly encouraged Annette and Margot to blab their heads off.
Lily is just charismatic & gorgeous
Lily Gladstone is such a great soulful impactful storyteller and I love that she admits she's a goofball and how she jokes around and talks crap about Leo in a funny way. The girl's a boss!
@@Sirunfan Thanks, she's such a sweet genuine soul. Hope she wins this season, I think she'll say something inspiring on stage.
@@deerheart87some ppl are intimidated by native women
I agree 100,000,000,000%. She's like a lightbulb amongst fireflies. She out shines everyone around her and she barely opens her mouth in the process. Stunning in so many ways ✨
She's a star!!!@@KikiCandy_
@@redbluebae4397 Nope...no we're not. Men are not intimated by women...period. And most women are not either...
Greta Lee was beyond mesmerizing in Past Lives
I hope she gets recognized at SAG, this is her first breakout role in 20 years of career
They are all awesome. Annette Bening grooving like Katherine Hepburn loving the younger gals.
her and Margot are the best actresses of this year.
Actually The Morning Show is her breakout, she's amazing in it. Then this film came out.
@@reylotsofrancis5404 no Carey Mulligan in Maestro is off the charts.
I feel that despite some of the buzz for the others here, this is going to be Emma's year at the Oscars, again.
I would love to see Greta and Emma in a comedy together! Such a talented group of women, love them all but hoping Lily wins the big grand prize!
I think it's between Lily and Emma but I think Lily is gonna win
@@regina914 We don't know yet Emma might win her role was wild
I would love to have a movie with Emma and Margot and Greta directing it 💖💖💖
I'm hoping Sandra Huller will pull through as the underdog haha
Emma deserves it
I CANT BELIEVE Emma didn’t use a movement coach. The development of Bella’s movement was so brilliant, and so funny. Just perfect. What a knockout performance.
She's a natural talent.
I adore her outside the box approach to her craft.
Her logic, along with her director's, she said and I paraphrase, was to imagine and feel, and explore. We assume most if not all the character movements were Emma's. She said she often thinks of being Bella for the qualities of character she showed. Emma's daughter is the beneficiary of her mom's screen work, most assuredly. Playtime has to be a blast for a 2 year old.
This was an unbelievable roundtable. The only one missing is Sandra Hüller, but so glad to see Annette Bening here! I can see at least four of these women getting nominated for The Oscar this year!
Emily Blunt could have been there too but yeah, Sandra definitely deserved to be. I wonder who will be left out of the Oscar nominations - it's a really tough category this year!
I wish Sandra was there too!
Completely agree! It would have been so interesting to hear her talk about Anatomy of a Fall in the roundtable.
It´s a pity Sandra Hüller wasn´t included in this talk. She is unbelievably talented. Both her performances in Anatomy of Fall or Zone of Interest deserve recognition for an artist who has strived her very best.
@@oliviamtranShe’s in Los Angeles Times roundtable.
I'll never get tired of hearing Margot's passion in the making of Barbie. She knew the risk of the material, she took that risk, hired the right filmmaker to worked on it, and ended up produced the biggest movie of the year with critical acclaim by a lot of people and i'm so proud of that. As a man myself who's definitely not the target audience for Barbie, i've watched Barbie 3 times in theaters and i can definitely see the potential being a classic in the future. It could've been a piece of junk that nobody asked for but turned out to be extremely entertaining and highly satisfying. Congrats to the Barbie filmmaking team, you are so Kenough 🙌
I'll never get tired of watching Margot doing anything
Arriesgar??
I SOO AGREE😭😭😭
I'll Never Get tired of her Being Barbier than Barbie
I love that she still wears pink for barbie ❤
@@recetasfaciles2816ya cállate y aprecia lo que te dan.
Hearing Annette say that she didn’t start doing movies until til her 30’s, with only doing theater up until then, was so refreshing to hear. I think a lot of women are restarting their lives at that age or older with businesses or career changes. It reminds us that you don’t have to start being a film actor really early in to be successful.
This round table was so wonderful! I’m watching as many of these movies as I can ❤ all are amazing actors!
I think Morgan Freeman was in his 40s when he started too
I'm stunned by Lily every time she speaks, her approach to acting, her dedication to the craft, her family history.. I'm just in awe and so glad to see more of her. Also loved Greta's story about her mother, representation is so important and to give a story back to your parents is uniquely amazing. Loved the whole table and can't wait to see what they all do next.
This is probably one of the best actress roundtables so far.. perfect actresses combination
One German actress belongs at this table too, if this is a group involved in the current Oscars race.
@@ktom5262Obvious, these group are for the ones whose movies are currently in award contender. LA Times recently did this too with other actresses who didn't participate in this
Ditto! 🤍🤎💚🩶🩷
@@ktom5262 Sandra Hüller was at the LA Times roundtable but they could've had her here because they've had seven people at the THR roundtable in years past.
Greta Lee deserves an award for her incredible sense of humor. Everytime I see her in these interviews, she's the funniest person in the room cracking us up at every turn. Love her!! 😂❤
The XO part hahaha
I enjoyed this roundtable immensely! Idk about the rest of y’all, but “I am Nora” had me in tears. Greta Lee is so humble that I don’t think she realizes the gift she gave to her mother, through her performance.
It makes me want to watch this movie 🍿 so badly.
That whole segment made me cry for a minute. The children of immigrants understand Greta all too well...
Same
made me wanna cry too
Absolutely love Lily Gladstone's performance in Killers of the Flower Moon. For me she is the highlight of the movie. Her sweetness, softness, loving-kindness, stillness, subtlety along with her silent anger, long suffering pain agony and grief, fragility, strength, resilience, the hope she chooses to carry in her heart, just a sight to behold. In the midst of great performances by De Niro and Dicaprio, she undoubtedly is the best of them all. Now that she has won the Golden Globe i really hope she wins the Oscar, she is well deserving of them.
Yes!!
I thought she was okay.
Absolutely! I hope she wins!
@@hinhwood1629 Want a cookie?
She was average honestly so was the movie.
I love how Margot was so interested in everyone and asked questions, she seems like a really nice person.
Her beauty helps her career more, her acting is overrated!
@@AzaniaNowwhere has her acting been overrated? I’d like to see the proof!!
That's a lovely reflection, because I was feeling a bit the opposite. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint why but I get a kind of vibe from her that she is used to being in the spotlight, and that she's playing a likeable character, but is actually rather competitive and ambitious, which she tries to hide (?!). I guess what I'm saying is: she doesn't come off as very authentic (?!). But I don't know, I'm happy to read that's just me.
@@inMuro they are actors if they were not competitive or ambitious they wouldn’t be in this video also those traits are not negative which you are clearly trying to frame them as
@@danielobrien7695 yeah I guess so, and that's true, I guess it's only natural. Perhaps, I just should not be watching this video if I'd rather not watch it.
damn lily gladstone is so gracious and ethereal looking, she's like a swan in the middle of the room.
When Lily Gladstone speaks, it just elevates the conversation in the room. What a wonderfully erudite and elegant actress.
Lily’s voice is so specific. Wow, what a pitch. She’s so beautiful in & out. So happy for every lady on this table. All did such a fabulous job. All deserve all the praise. Rooting for Emma, her performance in Poor Things was sublime.
Lily and Greta were incredible. The wisdom (and humour!) of the women at this table was incredible. Please make more!
The way that Emma Stone & Greta Lee and sooo in tune comedically even just talking - I'd love to see them play off each other in film or TV.
I LOVE these roundtables because it feels like being part of a group of friends. And to see these unbelievably talented women talk about their work is so enriching.
None of them care about you.
Such a negative comment gives bad vibe just reading ur reply.... Usshhhh chill man@@clock6413
Lily, Carey, and Emma have such unique, mesmerizing voices, I could listen to them speak all day
I know what you mean. They all have alto voices that I find really cool to listen to. It's very charming.
I don’t know if I’ve ever watched a Carey interview because I didn’t know that was her natural speaking voice. She speaks with an accent in every movie I’ve seen her in so hearing her in this interview threw me off. She has such a classically elegant voice!
So happy to hear Greta Lee mentioned Maggie Cheung and Charlotte Rampling. They really are the masters of acting and they should be appreciated more.
You can definitely see how Cheung's "In the Mood for Love" performance influenced Lee in "Past Lives"
I love Charlotte Rampling!
I have never heard Carey Mulligan British voice, her ability to change accents for movies is absolutely amazing. From Drive to The Great Gatsby. Wow.
true, she is usually underrated. usually people see her beauty first before her talent.
In Mudbound, she was a Southerner in the Mississippi Delta.
Carey gets more & more beautiful as she ages
You can understand how these actors are as dedicated as they are by how focused they are to the one speaking. They are absorbing every word and emotion. Love these roundtables.
When Greta told the story about her mom saying “I’m Nora”, it destroyed me. That is incredible. What a beautiful and poetic moment for their relationship.
Lily Gladstone is one of the most elegant women I have ever seen, like wow the way she speaks and composes herself is a sight to behold.💙💙
Carey Mulligan is sooooooo underrated

Carey is underrated because she's been in so many things and hasn't gotten her due. She's also a beautiful singer in both Maestro and Inside Llewyn Davis.
I love Carey Mulligan. She was in one of my favourite movies Drive. She speaks much different than I thought she would, much deeper, more confident. And also kudos to the interviewer, her and the interviewer of the female musicians round were great. 👏🏼
She's grown into it, I think. Watch her 10 years ago and she's much more shy and uncertain.
@@TheDemonicPenguinThat could be possible. I realised i never saw any interviews with her but i also only saw films with her from 10+ years ago where she always played such shy deer-like roles. She seems much more badass/confident here. Maybe you’re right, she grew into it. I will check out an older interview
@@TheDemonicPenguinomg you’re right. It’s like her whole personality changed. She seems like she doesn’t take any BS anymore. I love it
Its really crazy to see how her personality has changed over the years. Carey Mulligan is my favourite actress, shes as beautiful and amazing in acting as ever! Love Margot Robbie too!
Carrie NOT Confident?
When & Where?😊
Lily Gladstone has such a spiritual presence. She is humble and it's really beautiful to see her in this mix.
Nyad was an incredible film and Annette Bening deserves her flowers. Always lovely to see ‘aging’ (I mean she’s still very young) actors that play forceful roles and not grandmas or stereotypical parts dependant on their age. Loved it!
Great to see Greta and Lily there at the roundtable! Such amazing heartfelt performances.
Annette Bening become the most senior in that room but still being the humble one. She deserved praised and get Oscar for her long journey in cinema as actress.
I absolutely loved when greta asked about comedy and drama and you could literally see the wheels turning in their heads and they all had these realizations in real time!! ❤❤❤
What an amazing group of Women! Looking forward to seeing Past Lives and Nyad as those are the two films I’ve yet to see. Poor Things and Killers of the Flower Moon were 10/10 films with 10/10 performance from Emma and Lilly. And I really enjoyed Barbie a lot more than I thought I would, Margot Robbie is always great. While I didn’t love Maestro as a whole Carry Mulligan gave a phenomenal performance and was the best part of that film. Well deserved recognition for all of these incredible actresses.
I feel like you're gonna love Past Lives. It's a very memorable movie. The ending nearly had me in tears.

I wish these talented women nothing but the best and hopefully have a lot of fun at the award shows. Rooting for everyone to win big 🤗
Emma is like a "wicked" version of Margo. Love them both
When Margot Robbie says, can I make people laugh? All I know is that whenever I see her in a movie and she starts crying, she makes me cry. She is the most beautiful, gorgeous crier and if she’s ever cried in a movie scene, I feel her pain and I feel her sadness and I cry along with her. She’s a truly talented actress ❤ I just love her.❤

@@bob-zi1ebThe utter deIusion and misogyny of your comment 😂 It's the opposite, his "celebrity" is from being married to Emily Blunt, a respected, successful and beloved actress with multiple iconic roles across various genres, who's worked with respected giants in the industry and been praised by icons like Meryl Streep and Judi Dench since the early years of her career. He was a nobody outside of his old stare-at-the-camera comedy role on the American version of the show The Office, which is the "highlight" of his career since the 2000s, "Jim from The Office". He's not a respected actor, and even he himself admitted that he was a big fan of hers when they met, and he not only married someone above his league but that he also got more opportunity in his career behind the scenes after he married her. In years since, the only thing he's got some respect for was his directing A Quiet Place, a film the original writers of it had already wanted Emily Blunt for and he only became attached to because she suggested it. Her status and connections with her many peers over her two-decades career helped him. He's even often appeared like a nepo husband, latching on to the events she attends and is nominated for that he wouldn't otherwise be at, and even trying to get attention photobombing cast events like the Oppenheimer one. He thinks he's being "funny", but that just comes off as obnoxiously try hard because he hasn't earned that behavior with his career. Someone who has, for example, is Robert Downey Jr, so he can do his funny schtick with casts and events because at the end of the day he's a beloved, respected, successful actor who made it on his own merits, not someone who tried to force his way in the doors by virtue of being married to someone above their league.

Past Lives and Suzume were my favorites of 2023.
I hope they win best picture and animated feature respectively on the OSCARS
I'd love that but I don't see that happening. I don't even know if Suzume would make into Animated Feature at the Oscars but I predicted it would get nominated at the Globes and I was right because they love their GKIDS movies. Would love to see Suzume there rather than dumb films like Elemental or Wish. 🙏
I'm really hoping The Boy and the Heron wins animated feature. It's great, it and Hayao Miyazaki deserves it and I'm tired of sequels like Spider-Verse winning.
@@davidlovesfilm I also can’t stand when weak movies like Elemental and Wish win. I’ll never forgive them for giving the OSCAR to Frozen instead of the Miyazaki movie. Or that year when Your Name wasn’t even nominated. Now, that was an absurd.
I’m guessing Suzume has a chance exactly because of the weak year that Disney and Pixar had. But I totally forgot about Spiderverse, that’s how memorable it was to me 😅. They seem to love movies like that, so I guess Suzume is not gonna win, unfortunately. But I still believe it will get a nomination.

I always say to people that when it comes to the animated feature award, I have the impression that the voters ask their grandchildren “hey, sweetheart, what movie should I vote for here? What was the name of that one your mother took you to see? Wish, is it?” You know what I mean 😂

Great questions, great answers. Also, it’s funny that Margot said she watched a lot of Goldie Hawn movies bc there were moments in Barbie where I thought, “that’s reminiscent of Goldie, I wonder if she inspired her as a kid.”
Please don’t move to a subscription-based service. This is promo for movies that we already have to pay to see. If anything, studios should be paying you to put one of their front runners on a roundtable. But charging a small handful of customers to watch it early, when the majority of your customers will just wait an extra week? Desperate and sad. Please stop this before it even begins.

I loved this roundtable. Amazing questions and great chemistry between all the guests. But I gotta say. I REALLY missed Lacet Rose as the moderator. She really was the best😢❤❤
In so many movies, women in the cast are outnumbered by men, so it's nice to see so many prominent actresses all sitting around a table together and getting the opportunity to talk to each other about their processes, as it's likely rare that they get to be in the room with this many actresses all at the same time on any regular basis, especially this many exceptionally talented actresses.
