- Charlie Jones was the first original actor for Ben from 2006-2010.
I actually really liked Charlie's portrayal of Ben throughout 2006 and 2007, it was around 2008 when he started to become really cringeworthy and really needed a new actor. Charlie was better suited for a younger Ben, not a teenage/adult Ben. But overall, I'd say he was alright for Ben for a certain amount of time.

Ben was so feeble during his early years, and all the horrors he went through while being abused by evil Stella. I remember that storyline, it was really troubling
Charlie Jones is a impressive child actor & he protayed a troubled youngster well. Ben's early years of turmoil made me feel very sad & scared for him. I hope Charlie is doing fine these days.

Great courageous child actor. It hurt my feeling as Charlie acted as Ben in distress. Angels hate seeing kids in distress. I wish Charlie further success in his young life.

@@george_fg to be fair, Steffi’s not lying. Not to speak-ill of the-dead by any means but for what I know (people I know who worked at EastEnders in some capacity during her tenure have told me as much as well) she wasn’t that far-removed from the 2006-rendering of her character or easy to work with. That doesn’t mean she was a horrible person (at-all) but it’s not hard to understand why most of the cast felt a little intimated by her.

@@s0d100 No idea, but the character came across that way (the writers planned that part of his story arc for years before Ben came out), but some stupid homophobes "blamed" the kid because they can't separate the actor from the fictional character he played.

@@xc_03 his sister Lucy and Louise Mitchell (back when Mark Fowler thought he was her father) are both also named after Grandma Lou. Also, realistically Louie is probably more likely named after Lucy than Peter's dead great-grandma who was dead half a decade before he was ever born.

Was wandering the same 🤔 in real life it could never be theres only 5 years age difference between the actors think I remember in a documentary years ago the directors wandered the same the did some figures and worked out kathy could be Ian's mum if she had him at 16 . Hope this helps a bit

@@originaldw There's a much larger age gap than that. Gillian was either 30 or 31 when she got the job playing Kathy (who was 35 when the show started and is 70 now) while Adam was 16 playing Ian at the same age. So there's a 14 year age gap, not five.

Holly Fullick Lucy and Peter Beale- Ian’s children! They were twins. The 30th anniversary centred around “Who Killed Lucy?” If I remember correctly.

He was definitely the worst Ben Mitchell in my opinion
He played his part well enough (for his age) but part of his part was to be an annoying twerp. The guy executed that flawlessly but that doesn’t do much for his ‘non-infamous’ popularity as a character.
