    This board needs to be hung up in the iPad Rehab Hall of Fame with the Wires and broken piece. Great Work!

    I bet if you find the USB data connections on the board you could extract the data using wires too!

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  Před rokem +6

      That would be reallllllly hard. Those traces just go directly to the cpu or kraken chip-so it would mean digging in the seven layer board to find them. I don’t think there’s enough clearance around other required chips to get to anything. But if the fate of the world depended on it, then you’re right. It’s a plausible idea.

    Nice job! I wonder if you could get the data by using another iPhone and going through the setup process on the other iPhone. I forget what it's called, but you know the one where it says "bring the new iPhone close".

    My favorite kind of video to watch. You're relentless at trying to make it work. Love your detective work. In the early video where you flipped off the PMU, I can't help but keep thinking there must be a way to get that chip off the board without destroying it. Or is the chip already dead before you removed it? I imagine some chip may short internally but wondering if that happens often?

    The chip that is barely hanging on, U6100, the one with 6 pads has something to do with image, I cracked one by mistake while wicking the pads and there was no image anymore, phone was booting fine

    Nice video Jessa :) wanna ask one question please which software or app it is to show your dc reading in video or any plug in ?

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  Před rokem +1

      I have to use an expensive dc power supply that exports data by usb to computer directly and comes with an app. It some Siglent model I forget which one. I only use this dc ps for streaming otherwise I definitely prefer the simple ones we sell in the supply store

      You can get a Rockseed RS305P or 310D which will allow readouts on the PC and it's a cheap reliable PSU too

    Data recovery via USB, is doable with a bit of rerouting of the circuit back to the working part of the PCB. Guess you need some training on that.

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  Před rokem +1

      Ha. Step one, take off CPU, run a jumper …. Get real. I don’t think you have a working understanding of iPhone usb data and what is required here.

  • @tsol438
    @tsol438 Před 7 dny

    I have a dumb question. You talked about 3 important components. I'm confused why those components can't be moved to a new board. Is it because it wouldn't decrypt the data that way? Sorry for the stupid question. I'm a noob at this but I do have a background IT and very basic electronics.

    Wasn't it possible to solder a wire directly from the 1.2V output from the good board, directly onto pin 4 of broken board?

    • @MichaelVermylen
      @MichaelVermylen Před rokem

      Nevermind, stupid question from me.

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  Před rokem

      Not stupid at all-if this had been a clock signal then it would have made absolute sense to hook up a battery or dcps to the good board, power on and feed that signal to the bad board.
