Tbh I was always frustrated in the books when they didn’t realize things quicker expecially with Medusa. Annabeth is the child of Athena of wisdom she has been taught to be aware of her surroundings bc being a demigod is dangerous so it was just crazy they didn’t find out things sooner so I’m glad they make them find out things sooner it makes wayyy more sense. Same with Grover they both have spent a long time in the setting. Percy is new to the world but his mom has told him many Greek stories so he should be a little more aware too of course not as aware as Grover and annabeth but still

When I first read the books years ago, I didn’t really think about it, but yeah, Annabeth not knowing in books with Medusa is pretty odd since it was literally her mom who cursed her. If you think about it, they're still racing against time. Zeus and Poseidon are going to war. Like now. So they need to hurry and stop it. It's clearly a way to increase tension, which has been a big complaint that I've seen from people - no tension. Now there is. They need to hurry and stop this war that's already starting. I'm wondering if we won't get more weather fx because of that.
That’s true! I heard 7 and 8 are the best episodes, so I’m very excited to see what’s going to happen. I hope there’s more weather things happening, especially big storms, we haven’t really had a whole lot of that
@@MelanieJenkins0 The tension hasn't been released because even though they're already going to war, they still have to muster their forces and prepare before they can actually meet in battle. That means there's still a ticking time bomb to prevent from going off.
@@MelanieJenkins0 The Nereid flat out says that Poseidon is “preparing” to go to war. That means his and Zeus’s forces haven’t seen actual combat yet, so there’s still time. And there’s a difference between preparing your forces for the POSSIBILITY of war and ACTUALLY going to war. It takes a little time to get going. Not a LOT of time, mind you, but time nonetheless. I agree it’s a pointless change, but it isn’t one that ruins the story for me. Tbh, I actually kinda like that the show is making some changes, because it means I can actually be surprised. I may prefer how certain things are done in the book, but every change the show has made has served the story it wants to tell, and I imagine this one will be no different. But, hey, to each their own.

The movies were full of bland and unlikeable characters, the plots were rendered entirely nonsensical (if Luke’s plan is for Percy to die in the Underworld, then WHY does he give Percy accurate information on how to escape from the Underworld?), and the only “jokes” in the movies were about Grover being an obnoxious and horny racial stereotype. Them making a lot of changes was just the rotten cherry on the fetid cake. You claim this show is poorly written? I’ve rewatched the movies recently. I know what a poorly written version of this story looks like, and the show ain’t it. I actually like these versions of the characters; this show’s jokes are actually funny and fit the books’ brand of humor; and while I don’t love all of the changes, none of them have ruined the story for me.

The Luke stuff in this was so heavy and I actually forgot a lot of what happened with his Mom at first but it's gonna hurt so much when they go all in with it, loved that they actually brought it forward here as now we get so much more on Luke's motivation. Loved your reaction to the Nereid scene, she looks so amazing and the deadline passing was just insane!! Honestly though it could add so much more now, both Luke and Percy failed their quests but go down different paths and this is no longer Poseidon using Percy, it's fully Percy's choice to continue going forward. Can't wait to get to the underworld next episode, we finally get to see one of the more mythical and magical locations!!
Yeah, I’m so glad the time stamps came up on my TikTok, I never would’ve realized it otherwise. Literally, Annabeth saying, “his mom” hit me like a truck, I was not anticipating it, but I’m so glad we got it now. Yes! It makes the viewers who haven’t read the books understand him and feel even more sympathy towards him and make that betrayal hit even harder. Thank you😂 I was shaking, she looked absolutely incredible. It is! Yeah, it could add more, hopefully they’ll give us the idea that the war is starting or about to start with crazy thunderstorms or super high waves in the ocean or something like that. Yes, they’re now even more closely foils of each other, so that’s very cool. Percy’s really taking initiative already and I love that. I heard from people who’ve already seen the whole season that 7 and 8 are the best episodes and everything will make sense. I can’t wait either, I’m very excited!!! There were new stills of the underworld and Olympus that came up earlier and they look AMAZING!

I think part of it might be because of how much Rick was hyping it up, too, saying it would be different than “certain movies” I’ve seen a lot of people comparing it to the movie, saying that the movie scene in the casino was better. The movies aren’t great, but that’s a pretty iconic scene, so I get it. The atmosphere was supposed to be pulling them in, making them want to play and stay forever, but that didn’t really happen as much here. I liked getting more of Grover, though. And Lin did a very good job playing Hermes, I was delightfully surprised I don’t mind some of the changes that much, I’m mostly confused😂 But, I follow this girl on tiktok and her and her friends have been sent all 8 episodes for reviewing purposes and they 7 & 8 will make us all very happy and I trust them

I actually watched it first with headphones that really made it stand out and I had the volume turned way up cause I figured if they were going to give a hint of Nico and Bianca it would be audibly since its easier to mask without casting someone as their characters, but what an awesome Easter egg I cant wait for the rest of the episodes!!!!
