I‘m willing to give this a go. The liquid in brown bottle was likely a standard auxin based rooting hormone. Aroids can tissue-cultured in liquid media from single leaf cells, in tricky and expensive sterile conditions. The Aloe vera probably gives just the right kind of clean environment for the leaf to switch to a growth mode rather than simply going rotten and dying. Here, one side had most of the mid-rib removed and seemed to produce fewer roots. Would like to see the missing part two of this minimalistic but interesting video!
It won’t work, alocasia leaf cells are not capable of growing an entire plant. You’d need cells from the centre of the crown, or from buds or bulbs. You’re wasting your time and money. And in the unlikely event you get a root, it won’t be capable of actually growing an apex

@@Hals-Ueber-Kopf corms. They’ll grow under your alocasia and you can find them during repots. You simply put them in a sauce cup with a bit of water (they wanna sit in it, not swim), put it somewhere humid and wait.
There is more than one way to propagate most plants, it doesn’t mean that there is a right or wrong way!

Las alocacias se reproducen por sus bulbos nunca por hojas . Se la pasan haciendo contenido falso las supuestas raices las pegan con resistol , hay plantas como las begonias y calanchoes que si se reproducen por sus hojas pero no todas las plantas pueden pregunten a un experto

A rooted leaf, I believe doesn't have the ability to grow another plant. Now you've got a strange rooted half-leaf that exists. If that was the end-goal, I guess you've acheived it.

i agree. this video is rubbish. You can have roots on a leave, but it won't grow new leaves. it needs a growing point from a corm or bubil

Es arena pero , no funciona es puesto raiz de frijoles o habichuelas quiza una colocacia o alocasia jamas se reproducira por hoja solo por bulbo o por semilla gracias.
