MILITARY EXERCISES
1. Indian Air Force contingent reached the Eielson Air Force base of the U.S. Air Force in Alaska, USA, to participate in the upcoming edition of the multi-national exercise, "Red Flag 24-2". Ex-Red Flag 21-2 is a two week advanced aerial combat training exercise.
2. INS Shivalik has departed for Yokosuka in Japan and is scheduled to participate in Japan - India Maritime Exercise (JIMEX) & Rim of Pacific (RIMPAC) military exercise. INS Shivalik, an indigenously developed stealth multi-role frigate , is part of the Indian Navy's eastern fleet deployed for South China Sea and Pacific Ocean.
3. Indian Army's Kharga Crops, under the aegis of Army's Western Command, successfully conducted a 3-day joint exercise, "Gagan Strike - II ", with the Indian Air Force at multiple locations in Punjab.
SPACE MISSIONS
1. National Aeronautics and Space Administration has announced its plan to build 1st RailwaySystem on Moon, and named as “Flexible Levitation on a Track (FLOAT)”.
2.China National Space Administration successfully launched an uncrewed lunar probe, namely “Chang’e-6,” through Long March- 5 Y8 carrier rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in the southern province of Hainan, China. It is the world’s first mission to collect and bring back samples from the far side of the moon.
3. Gopi Thotakura, an entrepreneur and seasoned pilot from Andhra Pradesh has been selected among 6
crew members for Blue Origin’s New Shepard-25 space tourism mission. This mission will be the 7th human flight for the New Shepard program and the 25th in its history.
INTERNATIONAL SPORTS EVENTS
1. The Indian boxing team bagged a total of 43 medals at the Asian Boxing Confederation Asian U-22 and Youth Boxing Championships 2024, held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Indian boxers secured 12 gold, 14 silver, and 17 bronze medals from both the youth and U-22 categories and ranked second.
2. Magnus Carlsen emerged as the winner of the 2024
Superbet Poland Rapid & Blitz, a part of World Chess Tour that was held in Warsaw, Poland. India's Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa finished 4th.
3. Neeraj Chopra claimed the second (88.36 meters ) spot in the Doha Diamond League 2024 held at the Qatar Sports Club, Doha, Qatar. Republic Jakub Vadlejch claimed the top spot with 88.38 meters.

Hi everyone...I have started reading daily pdf completely without fail. Later I started to filter data which I thought was not that important. Before mains, I read those PDFs again. May not work for everyone. Took a lot of time and effort but it definitely worked for me.

MILITARY EXERCISES
1) 5th edition of "DUSTLIK 2024",a India-Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise, was being conducted
from 15th to 28th April 2024 in Termez District, the Republic of Uzbekistan, there
The Indian Armed Forces contingent of 60 personnel was being represented by 45 personnel from the Indian Army (IA), majorly from a Battalion of the JAT Regiment, and 15 personnel from the Indian Air Force (IAF) and The Uzbekistan contingent comprising of 100 personnel, from the Uzbekistan Army and Air
Force, had been represented by personnel from Southern Operational Command, part of South-West Military District. Exercise DUSTLIK 2023, 4th edition of the exercise
between India and Uzbekistan was held from 20th February to 5th March 2023 at the Foreign Training Node, Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand (India) and The first edition of Exercise DUSTLIK was held in Uzbekistan in November 2019.
2) 7th “ SHAKTI 2024",a India-France joint military Exercise, conducted on 13th May, 2024 (14-day joint exercise & will end on 26th May, 2024) at Umroi, in Meghalaya. Ex-SHAKTI is a biennial training
exercise which is conducted alternatively in India and France.
In this Indian contingent was being represented mainly by a battalion
of RAJPUT Regiment , consists of 90 personnel, Observers from Indian Air Force and Indian Navy will also participate in the exercise and from French contingent will be represented mainly by personnel from 13th Foreign Legion Half Brigade (13thDBLE) consists of 90 personnel.

10th “LAMITIYE-2024” (meaning ‘Friendship’ in Creole) Joint Military Exercise between IA and Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF). The Indian Army (IA) contingent ‘Gorkha Rifles’ was participated there. It was started on March 18 and goes until March 27, 2024. It is a biennial event being held
in Seychelles since 2001.
SPACE MISSIONS
1) SpaceX's "Bandwagon-1"- First Rideshare Mission
(On April 7 2024)to low-Earth orbit at inclinations of about 45 degrees by Falcon9 rocket from National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Kennedy Space Center, Florida, United States of America(USA). It carried 11 satellites, including KOREA’s 425Sat(‘425 Project’ satellite for the military of South Korea was probably the largest of the 11 satellites), HawkEye 360′s Clusters 8 & 9, Tyvak International’s CENTAURI-6, iQPS’s QPS-Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)-7 TSUKUYOMI-II, Capella Space’s Capella-14 and Tata Advanced Systems Limited’s TSAT-1A.
2)Russian space agency Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities(ROSCOSMOS) Launched 1st "Angara-A5" Heavy Lift Space Rocket from Vostochny Cosmodrome
(On 11th April 2024) in Amur region, Russia.
This will replace Proton M as Russia’s heavy-lift rocket, which has been in operation since the middle of 1960s.
This rocket was launched into space, reaching more than 25,000 Km/hr. It was launched for the celebration of Russia’s Cosmonaut Day on 12th April 2024 which marks the 63rd anniversary of the day on which Soviet Union’s Yuri Gagarin(onboard the Vostok 3KA-3 (Vostok 1) spacecraft ) became the first man in outer space.
It is a 54.5-m three-stage heavy lift space rocket weighing about 773 tonnes & capable of carrying payloads up to 24.5 tonnes into lower orbit. It uses oxygen and kerosene as fuel instead of toxic heptyl making it more environmentally friendly than its antecedents.
This rocket family is named after the Angara River, which flows out of Lake Baikal in Siberia.
3) The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched "3 Black Brant IX" sounding rockets for the Atmospheric Perturbations around Eclipse Path (APEP) mission from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, USA (on 8th April 2024) to study the disturbances in the ionosphere(Earth’s upper atmosphere between 80 and about 600 km above sea level) created during a total solar eclipse
INTERNATIONAL SPORTS EVENTS
1) Youth World Boxing Cup 2024 (33rd Adriatic Pearl tournament) held at the Hotel Splendid Conference & Spa Resort in Budva,
Montenegro, from 3rd to 11th March 2024.There Indian boxing contingent won 26 medals (5 gold, 9 silver, and 12 bronze). Russia topped the medal tally with 8 gold medals. India finished second with 5 gold medals, while Poland was in the third position with 3 gold medals.
Indian Gold Medal Winners are
Chanchal Chaudhary in the Women’s Youth Light Fly (50kg), Nikita Chand in the Women’s Youth Light (60kg), Parthavi Grewal in the Women’s Youth Welter (66kg), Phalaswal Akansha in the Women’s Youth Light Middle (70kg), Brajesh Tamta in the (48kg) youth men’s category. Some of the awards are
Best male boxer of the tournament to Torekhan Sabyrkhan (Kazakhstan) and
Best female boxer of the tournament to Nikita Chand (India). The tournament witnessed the participation of 245 boxers from 22 countries. There were 93 women(12 weight categories) and 152 men(13 weight categories) from three continents, they are Europe, Asia, and America.
2) Kazakhstan International Challenge 2024 Badminton tournament in Uralsk, Kazakhstan from 2nd to 6th April 2024. India’s Anupama Upadhyaya of Uttarakhand
defeated Isharani Baruah in the all-Indian women’s singles finals and Tharun Mannepalli of Telangana defeated Soong Joo Ven in the men’s singles finals. And also Indian pair Sanjai Srivatsa Dhanraj and Maneesha K got second place in the mixed doubles, they lost after Malaysia’s Wong Tien Ci and Lim Chiew Sien.
3) International Chess Federation (FIDE) Candidates 2024 held in Toronto, Canada. There, Grandmaster Dommaraju Gukesh(17 year old) (from Chennai, Tamil Nadu) had won by
defeating Hikaru Nakamura (USA) with 9 points. He will now be competing with Ding Liren(China) in the World Chess Championship 2024. Gukesh ranks 16 in FIDE Open category. He had thus become the youngest challenger in history to qualify for the World Chess Championship, breaking the record created in 1984 by the GM Garry Kasparov (when he was 22 year old)(Russia). Tan Zhongyi (China) has won the candidates (Women’s category) 2024. Winner’s Prize will get 48,000 euros for Open category and 24,000 euros Women category.
