If that isn’t genius, I don’t know what is. Had to re listen to those two parts again and sure enough it’s all layered in there. Incredible arranging skills.

Late to the show, but no, it's all six, Brian's vocals are just mixed beautifully and overdubbed a fraction of a second ahead (or behind) fora few parts. It's musical production at its finest, something Spector would've (and was) jealous of. But because their harmonies are so perfectly suuted for each other, it's sometimes hard to tell, especially with siblings.
I find it incredibly intriguing to believe that this was all Brian Wilson singing... for such a personal song that definitely didn't mesh with what the rest of the group had done at the time, it seems almost a given that he would have done all the harmonies and singing by himself, in a way, compounding the sense of isolation from the lyrics.
@@tyrannosauruszeppelin2205The wiki is just something someone wrote. Listening to it I only hear Brian. His solo stuff is all him, has a similar sound
Good ear! It only happens TWICE in the song and in the outro too. Brian knew how to write an ending -even though the majority of Beach Boys songs end with a fade out...
Those few moments where you hear Dennis at the end of words. At the end of "Found~" you can hear that sort of, I can't pin the words down for it, a vocal fry I think? Dennis had those really distinct ones. It's just sublime.
As good as the song with the music. I've never felt the urge to listen to a song with vocals only, and with the exception of maybe "Because" by the Beatles nothing will ever stack up to this. Brian Wilson: greatest pop genius in history.

My dad, a professional musician, used to say that a sign of great music is that the more you listen, the more you hear. THIS is great music.
This is over 50 years old, it's like they're in the room with you.
"In my Room".
Have never related to a song more in my life than this one here.. I love you So much Brian Wilson, you’ve truly saved my life.

2:40 brings it all home. Insane range.
I still believe to this day this is all Brian Wilson vocals. No one else on this track. My ears could be wrong but the blend to me is all Brian.
No Dennis is mixed in on the lead vocals. End of the phrases.
According to the Beach Boys: "There were six of us singing on that track."
@@KONAROCK1 according to my ears, this is all Brian.

No it isn't only him singing. Look it up on wiki. All of them are singing.

2:52 to 2:59 makes the whole goddamn song, honestly.
I agree, there's something eerie about the vocals and arrangement, very sad or dark
This is stunning.
Thank you for the upload!
I love ther songs.
So beautiful. Amazing!
Can't find nothin' I can put my heart and soul into.
I feel Brian was crying out for help
He was
I totally agree. :(

I relate to this song I seel very sad. I wasn't made there times
I keep lookin' for a place to fit in
Where I can speak my mind
And I've been tryin' hard to find the people
That I won't leave behind
They say I got brains
But they ain't doin' me no good
I wish they could
Each time things start to happen again
I think I got somethin' good goin' for myself
But what goes wrong
Sometimes I feel very sad
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Ain't found the right thing I can put my heart and soul into)
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Ain't found the right thing I can put my heart and soul into)
I guess I just wasn't made for these times
Every time I get the inspiration
To go change things around
No one wants to help me look for places
Where new things might be found
Where can I turn when my fair weather friends cop out
What's it all about
Each time things start to happen again
I think I got somethin' good goin' for myself
But what goes wrong
Sometimes I feel very sad
Sometimes I feel very sad (ain't found the right thing I can put my heart and soul into)
