Step one is making the the H/R single shot shotgun, lighter, more compact, more versatile loads, and most important more accurate. 12g boresnake amzn.to/2nBBnOt
Overgrown - This was a face palm video. I would just buy a few of these and just leave them as is... to be legal, and if the SHTF and laws don't matter anymore... they would quickly become chopped down boomsticks.
+Overgrown Very true. When it's all finished, you still have a single shot smoothbore. It serves its intended purpose very well just the way it came out of the box.
The best upgrade for survival that I have seen with these is the sleeve inserts that allow for multiple gauge shot and calibre bullets to be safely fired. Taking weight AWAY from a short shotgun is definitely going to make it even less comfortable when fired.
Iv shot a couple thousand rounds threw my HnR of 20 plus years and have no problems and gave it as a gift to my uncle who loved me shooting against people with it made him want one. He got one it got stolen so I gave him mine and it still looks and works great either I got a good one or they are just great guns.
The 12 gauge is an awesome shtf weapon! It can fire so many different rounds especially with the modern pistol or rifle round inserts. Recently shot 1 with a 45/70 insert. Every bit as accurate as a rifle. Or a person can fire pistol rounds with the inserts as well.
I think there is a distinction to be made. When some people think "survival situation", they instinctively feel a need to pack a 20-30rd AR or 8-10rd pump action shotgun because in their mind they want to be ready for a "standoff" scenario where an armed mob or militia is trying to kill you. This might be necessary in a post-apocalypse situation, but the more likely survival scenario is a natural disaster where the police are no longer able to maintain law and order in the suburbs... thus necessitating a simpler standoff ("home defense") gun like a single-break shotty. If there is some prolonged post-apocalypse where ammo conservation is critical and you don't have all the guns to shoot it, the adapters can be a good functional reason for the single-break as well. In either case, I think shotguns AND rifles make you a "harder target", but in the open, others may perceive you as a threat that needs to be killed... which means concealment wins over firepower. The other "survival situation" that people think is likely is one where you and your family are forced to go into the wilderness and hunt wild game, but if you don't live near a wilderness with plenty of biodiversity to support a family, simply purchasing a 30-day supply of food and water and waiting for the disaster to pass might be a better strategy. If there is a zombie/nuclear/ecological apocalypse, then everyone will have much bigger problems than survival.
+Alan Noorkoiv Absolutely agree. I love how a single shot comes quick to target. Also taking weight out of the ass just makes it front heavy. Shooting buckshot out of it now will be worse after losing all that weight and I'm not sure I'd like trying to reload that thing quickly with a pistol grip.
I have a Savage Stevens break action gun that is about 70 years old. It is a great SHTF weapon, especially with the sub cal inserts I bought. Just remember, that the pistol adapters (.22 and 9mm) are about useless in accuracy. No optics / sights can overcome a 2" barrel. The more expensive 7" adapters are better, but they're big and bulky. The .410 is perfect. And for God's sake, get that plastic off that shotgun! You shouldn't try to shave too much weight off a 12 ga.
The factory furniture (with a decelerator pad of your choice) helps in absorbing the energy of any 12 ga. shell you run through it. Throw away the ATI furniture. It's aftermarket "tacticicool" garbage. Paint or finish the original wood in a finish / pattern that's appealing to your eye, and it'll be as comfortable of shoot as any 12 ga. can be. It'll keep your cost down as well as make your scattergun "manufacturer like" efficient. Though it may end up a back pack gun, you don't want it too light. it'll knock you on your a$$ every time you pull the trigger. Happy trails, tight groups and safety first. Thanks for sharing.
My choice was a Savage M24 campers companion in 22 LR over 20 ga. It has short barrels and ammo storage in the but stock. It also comes in a storage pouch that can be tied to a back pack. Add a couple of shell sprinklers and you are pretty well set.
Thats a cool bb gun i like my 410 similer set up. I can load rounds with .44 mag aswell. I been playing allot with it. I regret giving my single shot 12 away lol.
I have a model 1875 swing action, it's sweet... I took the whole trigger block assembly out cleaned it did some honing here and there, And I cut the barrels down to 18.5 inches, It's still VERY accurate, probably getting a this shroud that has built in ghost ring sights for it...
It never hurts to have a 12 ga single shot around the house. Easy to learn to shoot for anyone in the family. Easy to operate under stress. With practice, reload time isn't bad. Ammo adapters are available. They are very versatile even without the modifications.
I owned a single shot 12 and a 12 gauge pump. I've since sold them both and kept my old NEF single shot 20 gauge. The only thing I've ever shot though these were deer slugs, and the 12 gauges were NOT enjoyable at all. Another reason to keep the 20 is the stores still have 20 gauge shot shells on their shelves. They don't have any 12's or 410's but they had plenty of 20 gauge. After all, what good is a firearm without ammo? I recently restored my old 20 gauge single shot and now she's a keeper. (I've owned it for forty years) I like the simplicity of a single shot and the lighter weight. Most of the time when I fired a second or third shot out of my 12 gauge pump at a running deer, I was just throwing my money away. The first shot is the most important one. It's like I told my wife when she took my single shot 20 deer hunting. I told her she only needed one shot, just make it count. She came back with a 12 point buck.
I have been using an H&R break 12 ga for the last 6 months now and have shot about 250+ rounds of bird through it and its working great still. I cut it down to 17in and handed it down to my girlfriend and she loves it because its small and fits her better. recoil pad is a must.
Cant wait to see how it turns out. I bought an NEF SB1, smooth bore, with rifle sights b/c my 9' .22lr and 9mm, adapters wernt accurate enough for my taste (4' at 50ft) I didnt know ATI made ghost ring sights that fit on a 12ga barrel, that didnt have a vent rib on top. I'm excited to see how yours turns out.
Heres a silly suggestion, Buy an Over /Under 20" barrel Akkar Churchill 12G They have a ribbed barrel, You can buy rifle sights that bolt onto the rib, (Legal requirement here in AU for deer hunting with shotguns and slugs)The Akkar also has removable/interchangeable chokes, ( i use Improved Modified for Slugs), Buy an ammo belt to take 12G ammo that has a pouch built in, You can then carry your adapters in the ammo belt, Tools, Spare chokes and sub-cal ammo go in the pouch,You now have a gun that can be broken down to no more than a 20" package in seconds, and re-assembled in the same time, Buy an ex-mil tactical vest with a 20" or longer, back pack pouch, to store it in,(you can buy these with a water bladder in them) and with a couple front mounted ammo pouches for carrying basic survival equipment, ie: first aid kit, fire starter,Water purification tablets, Radio,12G Flares, etc.
That shotgun is signing up to do a lot of different jobs : ) I realize this is to demonstrate to an audience of its versatility on different loads, but I would raise the question to folks watching this is "what do you want your gun to do"? Awesome having options, but then narrow down the field to one main set up & a secondary. Great stuff brother, looking forward to it.
with the wood stock you can add a "dead mule" by filling the bolt recess hole with lead shot and a piece of duct tape. This will help reduce recoil significantly with the heavier loads.. The ATI stock has some great feature also. Adjustable length of pull etc. The ideal on the ghost ring sights is a good one no matter what stock option you go with.
I look forward to see how this progresses. I would like to lighten mine up though I am not a fan of the pistolgrip on a shotgun, just my personal preference.
If you go with the old Stevens Model 94, you can get yourself barrels in .410, 20, 16, 12, and .30-30, interchangeable by snapping off the fore end. No need for adapters.
A 12 Gauge with a 1 oz slug produces one ton of energy at the barrel. It will stop an elephant. I personally would prefer more than one shot if a bear were charging me but this would get the job done. It's sure better than being totally unarmed or armed with a knife or most handguns. Don't miss!
I use a H&R that has a huge 10ga barrel under-bored to 12ga and rifled. The same 12ga adapters that you would use with the cheaper H&R single shot smooth bore guns works in them just fine. They are already drilled and tapped and in fact come with a Weaver base already installed. I have no clue what type of insane price they sell for now but they used to sell at Walmart for $99-$149. If you have to buy new might as well get one that is already drilled and tapped for a scope if you intend to use it as something other then a "scatter gun". If I use Sabot Slugs I can put 3 rounds into a 2 inch circle at 100 yards shooting off hand no rest, no shooting sticks or a bag etc....That is with a 3-9X scope though. I have to imagine that if I used a 7 inch to 9 inch rifled adapter that I would get accuracy at least on par with a scoped hand gun. At the end of the day if you plan on doing something like using an adapter on a shotgun you might as well plan it out enough so that it all works out. Anyone with enough money to waste on an AR platform should be able to do a shotgun and hand gun cartridge adapter with in their budget!!! It is different if you already have an old single shot shotgun just sitting around collecting dust to put it to use and go about modifying it. IF you actually have to buy something new though it really only makes sense to buy something off the shelf that will work great with out needing a new expensive stock or gunsmiths etc....
Those H&Rs are terrific little guns. Back in the 60s they offered a set with six interchangeable barrels in assorted rifle and shotgun calibers. Always wanted one but by the time I was old enough to afford it they disappeared.
the shotgun is one of the most adaptable weapons out there. you have 3 basic rounds bird, and buckshot, and then the slug. with many variations in each of those basic rounds. add in all the exotic rounds from flashbangs to armorpiecing incindary. and then all the other things you can slap onto the gun that fits it to you.
I have had H&R rifle shotguns for about twelve years now, it was my first firearm purchase. And it is not expensive to buy other barrels for them. the catch is, from what ive read, is that if buy one of the shotgun types like the pardner, they wont fit a rifle barrel on it, but if you buy one of the rifle versions, they will fit shotgun barrels on it. I dont know why. so thats just some fyi about these i havent seen anybody mention. Thanks for vid beast.
Building up a long term truck gun presently. Great idea to have the adapter sleeves to shoot other calibers, especially 410 and 22lr. My main objection to your initial choice of shot gun is that it is not an easily packable break over. Where do you conceal a long gun ? A break over fits in a backpack. Anyway, best of luck on your efforts with that gun!
Words of wisdom, folks, listen to him! And BazFella, YOU in the UK CAN get your freedom back, but the people will have to be committed to whatever it takes. I know you Brits can do it, you all are one of the toughest, most resilient people I've seen! Good luck!
I've never had my new england 20 gauge shotgun single shot break over out and shot it yet, was given to me by a friend who I helped move a lot of stuff it's not new and he had bought the pair together the 12 gauge shotgun single shot break over and the 20 gauge and I ended up with the 20 gauge wish I would have bought the 12 gauge so I would have had them both.
Picked up a used one for $65 a few weeks ago. I also have a 22LR adapter that is unrifled. I want to trick it out with the survivor stock with the extra storage for it.
I own that exact shotgun, the number one reason I choose it of the remington 870 or any other shotgun weight. When you get into your old age mode those extra pounds mean alot.
Ghost Ring sights on a $100 shotgun? I've shot slugs out of a 100 year old shotgun with standard bead sights at 100yrds consistently...its not very hard, don't blame the gun just practice more man
i have that shotgun. last time i was shooting skeet it wouldn't eject the shells. i had to use a ram rod to get em out. first time it ever happened to me and i think i've only used it less than a dozen times.
+BushmasterXM15E2S I believe the opposite is true. In the case of this single shot top loader the original configuration was the most ergonomic. Most ergonomic to bring to target, and the most ergonomic to reload. Weight distribution was better and recoil will most likely be more severe now. This is a hunting weapon that can be used in a pinch for defense. Bolting on AR style equipment is ALL about how it looks. It sure as hell doesn't shoot better now.
Cool project! Many moon ago I had a single-shot Ithaca that cocked without having an exposed hammer. That would probably work a little better with a pistol grip -- wish I still had it!
Great video my friend. I have bought 2 of the ATI "tactical" stocks mainly for my daughter so we can adjust for a petite or man-sized shooter. But I do appreciate you showing the interchange between the AR & H&R buttstocks. I also got the Scorpian butt pad for a little cushion. I also don't care for the ATI forend. I am thinking of re-finishing the wood forend in gloss black or changing it out with the synthetic black forend. The only real advantage of the ATI forend is that you could put on a rail for a small light and/or pistol grip. I currently have 5 of the H&R platforms and everything pretty much is interchangeable. SB1 & SB2 refers to the action. If you go to the H&R 1891 web page and look under their barrel accessory program it has a very good explanation in the difference between the SB1 & SB2. SB1 is the shotgun & heavy recoil round action vs. the SB2 for the lighter recoil rifle rounds. www.hr1871.com/support/accessoryprogram.asp
That's great! Beast! But if I was to look for a very packable, adaptable and great all around shot gun, I would go for the Keltec KSG. With it's capacity of 14 rounds of 2 3/4" 00 buck or slug 12 gauge goodness. Throw in the fact you can lock out the magazine tubes and manually load an adapter for .45 cal all the way down to .22 cal rim fire gives you the versatility of using what ever ammo is at hand. Add in the fact that the entire weapon system is 21" long makes it a great pack weapon.
It's been passed down from the cold war. Many of our grandparents and parents grew up in preparing for nuclear war. It became somewhat of a pass-time. There was a huge sub-culture devoted to it up. The seriousness of it has mostly ended, but many people adopted it as a hobby. Also, much of the skills coincide with other popular activities like hunting, shooting, backpacking, etc. Also, some of the resources have been known to come in handy during emergencies like natural disastors.
You fire a shotgun you pretty much give your position away. I think a sniper hears you, he's going to think... hey free shotgun... nearby... lets get me one
If you shoot any gun, except maybe a .22, unsuppressed, you are giving away your general location. Why? Because gunpowder is loud. EDIT: Gunpowder isn't actually the main contributed to the sound of firing a gun, just to not mislead anyone. A huge portion of the noise created is from the projectile (bullet) moving faster than sound. It's why suppressed subsonic ammo is much much quieter, while most ammo is still very loud when suppressed.
CHOPPERGIRL AIRWAR Assuming you are talking about a survival/end times situation where Law Enforcement is moot. Any firearm makes a report unless suppressed. and if a competent shooter with any kind of rifle gets the drop on you, it won't matter what kind of weapon youre sporting. You could use a bow of course, but you would have to be a crack shot with it to nail a running rabbit or a bird taking flight. Plus bows lethality is more dubious depending on the skill of the shooter.
Awesome set up! I will follow this closely as I too like the idea of a single shot shotgun that can use the adapters. Have you thought about getting one in .223 so you can shot the same ammo as the AR-15?
you better put some Thread Lock on the butt end of the AR stock. The front part of the AR stock is fine, doesn't move at All regardless if thread lock is applied or not. A 'Sissy pad' is more then needed for this shotgun too. the front end of the stock also comes with some decent holes for a rail or anything such as that. a sling on this shotgun with this ATI/AR stock? looks sexy too. a side ammo saddle from ATI looks great on it too (it's a MUST to thread lock that one on tight lol). Random...
those plastic collapsible stocks are ridiculous on a 12 gauge single shot. They kick pretty good and that wood will outlast and outperform that plastic thing.
If you nest the adapters you will gain space for ammo or other survival items. Instead of 12 gauge to 20 gauge, 12 gauge to 410 and 12 gauge to .22 you need 12 gauge to 20 gauge, 20 gauge to 410 and 410 to .22. All three nest perfectly, weigh less, and cost the same. You also gain more versatility if you own other shotguns in 20 gauge or 410.
For all those who are pissing and moaning about this, let it go. Is this the best thing in the world? No, but it is for this guy and at the end of the day isnt that what matters? The best gun in the world is only measured by the hand the wields it.
and he can probably shoot you at 100+ yards with those caliber adapters, which is a shot ive personaly made with my M48 topper and a 9mm adapter. single shots are one of the best guns out there for SHTF situations. with a 12ga break action and those adapters, you can use any caliber from .22lr to .308 all in one gun
great video ! Do you have any Signal Flares for the Shotgun ? Also for a weapon, an Axe and/or a chainsaw you need a Trauma Kit with a Tourniquet ! Just picked up a Polish Flare Pistol for Survival when out of cellphone range ! tjl
Hmm. Good theory and philosophy of use. I believe you're accomplishing what you're after (accomplished?) with the modifications of this shotgun. I don't like that it looks like a Walmart bubba special, but I feel like that's forgivable because those characteristics have come secondarily to the main purpose of the additions. I had to watch it carefully and ponder the message behind the video. It's gotten me thinking more about making modifications to an existing old firearm of mine to make it more suitable in an emergency role, and I like it when videos get me thinking like this. Thumbs up,
Good on U, Yep adapters , Best U tube video on a SHTF survival gun, So surprised on how many so called expert survival Gurus never even know or mention these inserts ? But they will tell me how 2 buy a wallmart single shot & it is all U need. Thanks 4 telling the people man. I Have several Adapters & enjoy them.
The Savage over-under combo guns would be a fairly good option for survival and eliminate some of the trial and error,, they are heavier but the choice between barrels is a flip of a switch!! There usually isn't much time to waste in a survival situation.
That is one of the coolest BB rifles Crossman ever made. Not a lot of power but it looked so great. I had one as a boy in the 60s. Mine had crappy woodgrain plastic stock. Yours looks better with the wooden stock.
i had a H&R single shot 12 g., Just like yours for a few years actually - even bought the ATI stock for it also, lol (It was a flash black to my days with my H&R when i saw that You did the same, lol). Just wanted to point out that, with out any type of Thread Lock? the bolt inside of the butt of the gun will start to wiggle and eventually loosen up. That AND not shooting slugs will help things all keep in one Place and not wiggle around. To be honest, i should of put the Old stock back on.
How to put $300 into a $100 shotgun...
Overgrown - This was a face palm video. I would just buy a few of these and just leave them as is... to be legal, and if the SHTF and laws don't matter anymore... they would quickly become chopped down boomsticks.

+Overgrown Left mine stock, 'cept for a $3 butt pad, a $4 shell holder and a $5 hacksaw blade to cut her down a bit.
+Overgrown Very true. When it's all finished, you still have a single shot smoothbore. It serves its intended purpose very well just the way it came out of the box.
It's not a $100 shotgun anymore, now is it?

i have to say that my new england single shot 12G is built like a tank and is without a doubt an amazing survival and hunting gun

With the Stevens, just buy spare barrels in other calibers and they usually fit with a tiny bit of filing, if anything.
Very cool so far. Will be interested to see the final result. I love my NEF, its a great all around shotgun imo.
Thanks for this post, it's good to see what's out there for options.

Looking forward to seeing the ATI Ghost Ring sight setup when you get to it. I've got a 70 year old 94A that is very similar in dimension and action.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't possibly imagine why you'd want to go through all that work on a $120 gun?

Interesting...
I look forward to see what you come up with.
Thanks
the shotgun is one of the most adaptable weapons out there. you have 3 basic rounds bird, and buckshot, and then the slug. with many variations in each of those basic rounds. add in all the exotic rounds from flashbangs to armorpiecing incindary. and then all the other things you can slap onto the gun that fits it to you.
Great video, looking forward to the rest. Take care and thanks.
That gun is so cool
Words of wisdom, folks, listen to him! And BazFella, YOU in the UK CAN get your freedom back, but the people will have to be committed to whatever it takes. I know you Brits can do it, you all are one of the toughest, most resilient people I've seen! Good luck!
Lets say you are in a woods and all of sudden there is a kodiak bear charging at you. Do you think this weapon would work?
I've never had my new england 20 gauge shotgun single shot break over out and shot it yet, was given to me by a friend who I helped move a lot of stuff it's not new and he had bought the pair together the 12 gauge shotgun single shot break over and the 20 gauge and I ended up with the 20 gauge wish I would have bought the 12 gauge so I would have had them both.
Picked up a used one for $65 a few weeks ago. I also have a 22LR adapter that is unrifled. I want to trick it out with the survivor stock with the extra storage for it.
Choate machine and tool has an awesome "survival" stock for the HR shotgun. It has compartments in the foregrip and the butstock.
I own that exact shotgun, the number one reason I choose it of the remington 870 or any other shotgun weight. When you get into your old age mode those extra pounds mean alot.
Thanks great video, I'm really forward to what you come up with!!
Sweet video. Now where's part two?
When the time comes it won't matter if it's enjoyable to shoot.
People have different tastes. It doesn't make one "better" or "worse". It's just taste, why is that so hard to comprehend?
Another great video sir. Ive been looking at the single shot for a long time since it is so cheap to buy. More fuel for me to get 1
Dayaam! That M1 Carbine is sweet! Looks like a battle field pick up.
love it man i might do something like that with mine
Ghost Ring sights on a $100 shotgun? I've shot slugs out of a 100 year old shotgun with standard bead sights at 100yrds consistently...its not very hard, don't blame the gun just practice more man
i have that shotgun. last time i was shooting skeet it wouldn't eject the shells. i had to use a ram rod to get em out. first time it ever happened to me and i think i've only used it less than a dozen times.
why must every gun,( even a single shot .410) have to look like an AR?
+Salvador Garcia I agree
+Salvador Garcia
ergonomics.
+Salvador Garcia It's not about appearances. it's about ergonomics and ARs are the kings of ergonomics!
+Salvador Garcia it's not about ergonomics. it's for the morons who think it's cool but can't afford an AR. it's just "COOL" man!
Nice video! Haven't seen many new ones from you lately.
Great project! You've inspired me. Have you considered how you'll mount the cartridge adapters now that you gave up the wood stock?
Cool project! Many moon ago I had a single-shot Ithaca that cocked without having an exposed hammer. That would probably work a little better with a pistol grip -- wish I still had it!
Tactical? Not so much at all ....
But for practicality it's perfect.
I shot a 3" Mag out of one of these shotguns back in '94, my hands swelled up for about an hour, man, that stung!
I picked one up for $11, took it to the shop, chopped it off at 18-1/2" and painted it three colors, just for fun, but it really recoils hard...
As soon as someone says "Dave Canterbury" I feel like I have been suffering from an intestinal parasite.
lmao very funny.
why?
Matt comment
Dupa Krowa Stolen valor. That's why.
James Huls As you wish.
Could we please have a part 2?
You fire a shotgun you pretty much give your position away. I think a sniper hears you, he's going to think... hey free shotgun... nearby... lets get me one
what sniper? Who brought a sniper?
If you shoot any gun, except maybe a .22, unsuppressed, you are giving away your general location. Why? Because gunpowder is loud.
EDIT: Gunpowder isn't actually the main contributed to the sound of firing a gun, just to not mislead anyone. A huge portion of the noise created is from the projectile (bullet) moving faster than sound. It's why suppressed subsonic ammo is much much quieter, while most ammo is still very loud when suppressed.
Brandon 5.56 i was actually gonna chop the barrel down to like 8 inches long and fire it a few times then throw it away LOL.
DEEE STROYED wrong place to talk about that sir...
Random...
.22 bolt gun would be my vote, you can carry a heck of a lot more ammo then a 12g. 500 rounds of .22 =
those plastic collapsible stocks are ridiculous on a 12 gauge single shot.
Houge makes a great butt stock & front grips, w/ storage in both, a rail on top would allow better sighting options! A good sling helps too.
i' got one, how much did you spend on this progect?
can you give the links of the parts?
thank you.
Awesome Gun Subscribed!
Do you have a video showing finished product with all the mods ?? Thanks
I currently have this rifle somewhere else. sorry
For all those who are pissing and moaning about this, let it go. Is this the best thing in the world? No, but it is for this guy and at the end of the day isnt that what matters? The best gun in the world is only measured by the hand the wields it.
and he can probably shoot you at 100+ yards with those caliber adapters, which is a shot ive personaly made with my M48 topper and a 9mm adapter. single shots are one of the best guns out there for SHTF situations. with a 12ga break action and those adapters, you can use any caliber from .22lr to .308 all in one gun
what kind of stocks did you use for the h&r? because thats great, could you tell me the brand suitable for thath shotgun, because i own one.
As long as you don't cut the barrel shorter than 18", it's perfectly legal. I leave an extra half inch just to be sure.
So are you ever going to finish this series?
great video ! Do you have any Signal Flares for the Shotgun ? Also for a weapon, an Axe and/or a chainsaw you need a Trauma Kit with a Tourniquet ! Just picked up a Polish Flare Pistol for Survival when out of cellphone range ! tjl
sooooo maybe i missed it but where is pt2? i searched your channel couldnt find it. love the idea but would love to see teh finished product.
One thing I did to my H&R was put some shrink tubing on the trigger. After a box or two my finger was pretty ripped up.
Like it I will be following for further developments.
All shotguns have a rear sight, no shotgun exists without a rear sight.
It's the shooters eye.
The Savage over-under combo guns would be a fairly good option for survival and eliminate some of the trial and error,, they are heavier but the choice between barrels is a flip of a switch!! There usually isn't much time to waste in a survival situation.
have you tried firing a 22 through three nested adapters?
That is one of the coolest BB rifles Crossman ever made. Not a lot of power but it looked so great. I had one as a boy in the 60s. Mine had crappy woodgrain plastic stock. Yours looks better with the wooden stock.
You might train running like hell as well !
Got mine at Big 5 in CA.
i had a H&R single shot 12 g., Just like yours for a few years actually - even bought the ATI stock for it also, lol (It was a flash black to my days with my H&R when i saw that You did the same, lol).
Just wanted to point out that, with out any type of Thread Lock? the bolt inside of the butt of the gun will start to wiggle and eventually loosen up. That AND not shooting slugs will help things all keep in one Place and not wiggle around.
To be honest, i should of put the Old stock back on.
