Very informative! I was wondering how do you know how much product to prepare for the day? Is there a rule of thumb?
To be honest, there isn't really a set amount. You'd find a pattern after operating for a couple months. I'd definitely keep an eye out on your POS system. They are great at showing you trends throughout the week. For us, our peak is from Friday-Sunday, so we prep more then. If we are running some sort of marketing campaign, we usually prepare double the amount. hope this helps! :)
Ice cream is frozen so no loss due to lack of freshness so make as much as u can hold.

survey and give your customers what they want. not about variety, but rather being able to tailor to their needs. design items that are year round and high in margins.

Due to economic sit's i can just start little with maybe softice, frozen with this ready fill bags mix with milk and Coffee of course. Do you recommend this type of ice mixes ? Its a not rich area, mostly even poor here, unfort i cant afford more rent for now in better places. I plan buy ice machine, rent the espresso machine and grinder, a few bakery things i produce, hot n cold drinks.

Hi from Québec I can't seem to find the link to the Ace formula. I purchased an Ice cream parlour last year, first time entrepreneur and season 2020 will be starting shortly. I have soft serve and will be making artisanal Gelato. The visibility and the branding is a work in progress...At this time the business as been built on copying others recipes. not quite sure about the grants in your local state. I am sure there are quite a few out there. if finance is your only problem and you have a killer idea that you truly BELIEVE in and will work around the clock to make it work.... then you can approach your friends and family to raise your first round of funding. be careful if you do tread down this path, you may never attend another christmas dinner with the family anymore if things turn sour... đ

Awesome videos regarding how to open an Ice Cream business. I am running two small Ice Cream Parlors for a year now and it's doing fairly well. I own three chinese made Ice cream machines two are Gongly and the other is named Mikan.
I would like a creamy ice cream texture which at times I am able to get but there are times the ice cream turns out on the heavy side. The mix I am currently using is a bit greasy and has a fairly high butterfat content.
My question and you mentioned something in your video is regarding the airflow as you said "the amount of air we pump inside the ice cream mix" How is that done? Is there a process that I need to do before putting the ice cream mix in the machine? Is there an apparatus that I need to add to my ice cream machine to get that air flow?

Nice, Reinier! i think you should consider flushing out the machine more often, i find that helps with the consistency of the texture.
the air content, overrun, should vary from 0-60%. this can be customized with your machine. the optimal % of overrun should run from 33%-45% depending on your recipe to get the perfect creaminess and density. should inquire with your manufacture + a ton of trial and error. email me if you need any other info. wilson@720sweets.com

Why an ice cream business? What's the reason for choosing that instead of a cafe or a sandwich shop or etc.? The type of ice cream you sell is based on a combination of your connection to it, what your market wants, or what is missing in the market.

+debasish naiding usually soft served ice cream can be kept in a container that is sealed to be consumed later. However, the quality, specifically the texture definitely decreases over time. Keep in mind the machine pumps air in the liquid to make the IC. So once itâs in the container the IC will âdeflateâ over time and lose the creaminess. Hope this helps.

What formula do you apply to price your product fairly ?
+xx300spartansxx generally COGs should be floating around 20-25%. Thats including the production and all the direct cost. From there I reverse engineer the price. Second step is to do competitive analysis on market comparables to make sure my pricing is competitive. Then Iâd adjust volume, portion to make the percentages work out. Hope this helps!

I bootstrapped with my first tutoring business. I went to the three university in my area and put up posters three times a week. once i had enough students, i hired a tutor and matched them. aside from the initial cost of printing posters and my own time, everything was profit. 3 months in, rented my first office, then another 3 months, hired a full time. slowly rolled out and accumulated until now.

ah - unfortunately, I only deal with commercial units. home making machines don't churn enough output and will be a waste of money if you are planning to take this seriously.

30-50 pints home machine would be tough. you'd be producing the whole night. I'd recommend getting a used machine at your local second hand kitchen ware stores. :)
