'Call of the Wind' is the second single taken from the new Furor Gallico album 'Future to Come', to be released on March 22nd by Scarlet Records - the song is about the struggle to escape from the cage of isolation that sometimes we create around ourselves, along with the self-feeding feeling of hopelessness. The wind that the individual feels represents a renewed spirit of freedom, once the prison is shattered.

I love how metal in 2024 uses flutes and harps and it's not out of place at all. When I was growing up some bands wouldn't use a keyboard so as to not dilute their sound. Thankfully, I'm an "all metal is good" guy. Well, almost all metal, but Furor Gallico certainly sounds really great.

This song is a masterpiece and ticks all my boxes! Folk metal, tin whistle, harp, beautiful clean vocals alternating with brutal unclean vocals, with an Eluveitie vibe, but definitely has their own uniqueness. It has become one of my favorites.

An enjoyable sophisticated Folk Metal tune with a lot packed into its' 5.5 minutes. The production and arrangements are excellent and it's got something for everybody. I enjoyed the clean vocal chorus more than the growled verses but it's nevertheless worthy of the playlist. My Score: Good 3*
