Frankfurt Höchst Walk

Frankfurt Höchst is the most unique neighborhood in Frankfurt, with about 400 half-timbered buildings that make it part of the Half-Timbered route in Germany, one of the oldest churches in Germany - the Justinus Church (830 A.D.) and a lovely little Schloss surrounded by a dry moat and the original city walls.

I'll walk with you. I was stationed at McNair Kaserne in 1981, and I've walked along these very streets so many times. Beautiful.

@@frankfurtonfoottours2361 I'm replying before I've searched, but I don't think there are many videos of McNair Kaserne as it stands, today. If you can get IN, that would be awesome. But I believe it is a school, and retirement facility, so I do not think you can get in. But I'd love to see it if you do!

i lived there for 9 yrs before we left for Canada in 1957 part of the moat used to grow strawberries and they also had trees growing very close to the wall which they cut down cause my brothers used to climb down and get the fruit put it in a basket the haul it up lol,always wanted to go back never got there 1 brother still lives over there

Really enjoyed this, thanks! I house-shared in Höchst for around 4 months or so, back in 2006 and this brought back some memories. Now 15 years later, I realise how nice it was there!

I love Höchst too! You can take a bus from the airport to here which is really easy and about a 20min. ride. How long is your layover? Send me an email and I can give you better directions. [e-mail]
