    I’m 42 and began figure skating over a year ago. It has been so frustrating to see the children on the ice learn spins, turns, etc with no issue. And then there’s me! I get dizzy and “carsick” with very little. I’ve just thought I’m too old now. My body won’t do that stuff anymore.... but through your videos I’m realizing that I need to consciously work my vestibular system?!?! I have seen and felt slow improvements by simply working on the ice, but now I see that I can do these movements you show us at home and I will improve more!!! Thank you so much!

    It’s ridiculous how beneficial head nods and head movement is. I’ve also noticed that keeping my head up and more centered over my body, but mainly just keeping my head more on the horizon, especially when driving, helps with mood and relieves anxiety. Probably because of better information. It feels like it. Thanks for the info.

    Hi Tim!
    I just discovered OS through my Chi Running and Walking instructor conference in Charlotte NC and found it so interesting as I teach Kindermusik ( Music and Movement program for children 0-7 yrs) as well and in Kindermusik we really develop the child's Vestibular system through rocking and rolling and crawling etc through music....I am certainly going to share this video to my Kindermusik educators as well as this is great for both Moms and reiterates the benefits for their babies / children. Thanks for your insight in finding our original strength.

    We say that we have 5 senses, but actually we have 6 which includes the vestibular system. But we always overlook it because it's invisible. But in actuality, it's always functioning enabling us to function like you say.

    hello tim. I noticed that you mainly use the sagittal plane and horizontal plan to solicit the vestibular system. Why not activate the vestibular system on the third one (frontal)?

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  Před 4 lety +3

      Hey, thanks for the question. You absolutely can and should. Most of my videos focus on ground work because that’s where we start in life and that’s often the best place to return to when we are trying to rebuild, restore, or reset our bodies.

      @@OriginalStrengthSystem so is that mainly it. His vestibular system is better then others? I’ve never seen anyone move like him. When he runs it looks like he’s gliding. If he gets tripped when playing basketball he literally just absorbs it and rolls and pops up all in motion and never gets hurt. Never rolls an ankle even when jumping in. The middle of 7 ppl. He can stop and go and change direction like a damn cat. And I jump higher and run faster. But he still reacts quicker. Like he beats me to loose balls and on a rebound he jumps quicker. It’s so frustrating.

      You may want to visit a vestibular specialist/therapist. Beyond that, you may want to work eye and head movements a bit. I have a head control playlist that may be a great place to start.
