- Check out this rare catch of South Metro Red 1, Red 2 and Battalion Chief 32 responding to Centennial Airport for an Air Alert 2 Inflight Emergency on 10/9/18. The aircraft landed safely without incident.
Unscripted Episode 16 is coming soon and will feature more information about Station 35 and the ARFF Team.
OH MY GOD! I wish i could get this response!!!!!! the fact that they have to respond on the road out of the gate makes it so much cooler!!!! this is so cool, dispatch and all!
i knew you’d find this as cool as i did!!!
Love the sound of Oshkosh Rigs responding. No sound like it out there! As a professional aviator....thanks for all you do for aviation!!
Brian White back when Osh Kosh made good trucks
Detroit diesel has nothing to do with other kosh. Thank God they switched to cat for the military contracts
That is pretty interesting having ARFF based outside of an airport.
I don't think I have seen that before. I have seen a crash tender based outside an airport before but that is not used just for ARFF - it's used for as a foam tender in DC near the White House for any responses related to Government aircraft such as Marine 1. Sill pretty awesome, nice video
Love hearing the Detroit Diesel 8V92 On the Oshkosh.
Beautiful Rigs!Great Video and Nice Catches!
I work at an ARFF department and we have a mutual aid agreement with the city and the county. We run 50 plus call's in the first 2 months this year off base and almost a dozen a crash truck has been used.
Amazing Catch
Nice! We don’t have ARFF trucks in my county because the airport is so small.
Hope you do more response videos!
i think we have like 8 foam units in Portland airport its a big airport
For a "Re-Furb" RED 1 is still an AWESOME OSHKOSH rig!!
How fast can red one go and how long does it take for it to get up to speed?.
Nice catches!👍🏻
Sweet rig!!!!!
Is the red ran by the engine crew???
Business as usual, much respect to the fellowship of American Firefighters regardless of where you serve because we don't see who you are but what you are and some have gave their lives too show it America 😊
ARFF not on the airport grounds??
Love it be safe
Any plans for a new airport response truck?
Yes, an apparatus committee is currently active and working on initial specs for 2 replacement ARFF units for Red 1 and Red 3.
They should do a episode at that station
They are read the disc
They did
@@shirashump1130 your 2 years late bud l.
I’m aware
What is the normal ARFF response for an Alert 2?
Red 1 red 2 red 3 a batt chief 1 saftey officer 4 engines 6 medics and metcom ops channel and Port 5
Yep need one in my driveway
What is your response time to the airport?
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO Thank you for the info. Are you going to do a, "Fleet" special on Red 3?
How close is that station to the airport? And is it a smaller or larger airport? Just curious
This Station is about 0.4 miles from the closest runway access point. Centennial Airport is not FAA Part 139 certified so ARFF isn't required to be staffed onsite. Although the airport is relatively small, in 2020 it was ranked the 3rd busiest general aviation airport in the U.S.
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO cool! Thanks for letting me know! I live in a town about 4 hours from the Denver area and our small airport has surprisingly large aircraft coming in every once and a while
GO GET EM BROTHERS 💪
Good Ol Oshkosh T-3000!
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO Wow, never would have thought there was a T-2500. That is indeed very rare then.
Did the Alert said Air Alert 2 in 1 or just Air Alert 2?
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO we call our units in The Airport Foam 1 Foam 2 Foam 3 & Attack 19
Where's Red 3
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO that's pretty cool that station 35 and 44 have the airport trucks.
I would of cancelled Red 2 and took L35 in case.
@@SilverSprings95
1. I can't say for certain but usually there is protocol for something like that IE if an air emergency is called they are REQUIRED to bring Red 1 and Red 2.
2. A tower is going to be much more useless for an aircraft emergency than Red 2. It is specially designed and equipped for airport firefighting and rescue while Tower 35 just isn't equipped for those scenarios.
3. This is serving a general aviation airport and not a commercial airport (hence why they don't have the fire trucks at the airport and they respond from outside it) so they don't have to worry about massive commercial aircraft
4. They are first due, along with Red 3 from station 44, and the Red trucks are going to be better at any aviation emergency (as previously stated) and if they require additional help they can call in other apparatus to assist, which could include towers, rescues, engines, and squads along with BLS and ALS ambulances. They need the capabilities of the Red trucks to act as fire suppression and rescue and additional apparatus would act as support and manpower to assist them.
How often do these rigs roll for airport emergencies?
Cool, it'd be cool to get passed by that truck responding code.
Question? If this station is intended for aircraft rescue and fire fighting? Why isn’t it in an airport but instead in the normal suburb?
Since Centennial Airport doesn't meet FAA Part 139 criteria, staffed ARFF apparatus are not required to be on airport grounds.
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO but they can respond to other incidents as always, if not in airport?
They didn’t say that
This is the first video
Red 1 needs a better lighting package.....cool old rig though.
It's adequate
Niepi maybe if it only responded on the airfield. Very inadequate for response through traffic.....
Julio sauldos Ecuador
What are the different Air Alert level?
On the other video

So what is that? This is an airport fire brigade and make a slow train from there
Crush: hey come over tonight
Me: sorry I can't I'm chillin with the boys
Crush: my parents aren't home
Me: 1:14
Check out florida fire departments my local fire department has some nice rigs check here #seminolecountyfiredepartment
Why there are black smoke emerging from the truck?
sometimes diesels have black particulate when revving up.
I am a Jr fire fighter
I wanna do something kind of like acting like you’re drowning so the hot lifeguard will come over to you. Like I wanna crash my plane intentionally just so SM’s ARFF units can come. Sexy trucks I’ll tell you that.
Oops! Blue lights on fire equipment!
We've learned from CZcams comments that not every State allows fire apparatus to have blue lights. Here in Colorado any ambulance, fire apparatus or law enforcement vehicle may have any combination of red, white, blue and amber lighting.
robotic dispatch sounds horrible.
I think it sounds cool
Rather useless rigs...those should be on airport not off airport. If a plane goes down, their response time is too long.
