Hougang RiverCourt was launched in the November 2015 BTO exercise alongside projects in Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Punggol, Sengkang and Toa Payoh (Bidadari).
At first glance, Hougang RiverCourt doesn’t seem to stand out - it’s in a non-mature estate and not even close to any MRT (Kovan or Hougang). It also has just 285 units, which is definitely small all things considered.
Hougang RiverCourt does make up for its locational shortcomings though by having a neighbourhood centre integrated with the HDB development itself. And when we say integrated, we mean it shares the carpark and rooftop garden with the development.
7 years since, Hougang RiverCourt (both the mall and the HDB development) is now fully-built, so how has this HDB with an Integrated Mall played out so far?

Love how the space was tastefully designed - it feels like a luxurious condo apartment and the flow of design is very constant throughout the house! I didn't even realise they switched up the bedroom to the living area! Props to the presenter as well, very nicely presented and it's aesthetically pleasing to watch ;)

With WFH trending, I would switch the walk-in wardrobe and make it a study/work room instead. It's also not restful to see and a workstation in a master bedroom. Everything in the bedroom should be designed to make for a conducive sleep. But the switch between the living and first bedroom is masterful.
Ask women why the walk in is so important. LOL

I love their concealed cabinetry and material choices... can't help feeling the owners will come to regret the wallpaper in future years when they want to change up the wall paintings to add a pop of color...
I wonder if you guys would be able to feature the 83sqm 4 room. I think its a fairly rare type of 4 room that kind of appeared out of no where with some SERS and BTO projects. Been searching high and low and literally no one (not even the 15 IDs i spoke to) has featured or has had personal experience with this particular size of 4 room - so it's really hard to visualize the space. I sure hope I won't need to be the first one you guys feature when i get my place hahahaha
Hey! There are some 83 sqm 4 room flats around, some that come to mind are those in SkyVille @ Dawson and SkyTerrace @ Dawson. You can find listings on property portals - some even have 3D tours :)
Can you share more what is included in the $80K renovation cost?
I enjoy watching Singapore apartments and houses. Unfortunately this home and many others hang their pictures too high up on a wall. The centre of the picture should be at your eye level.

Nice interior and layout. However a lot of rooms were knocked down. Realistically speaking, if this is not one’s final home and there is a view to sell it in future, this should not be done

Bad idea for the relocated living room, looks so claustrophobic. Waste of the 80K budget.
interior design is too “unique” .. colour scheme is certainly too “doom” & not pleasant to many!

each to his own. I am sick of the Japandi minimalist style that almost all new BTO has., this is different. I want to see Singapore style in new BTO but sadly there is none.
