Pine needle tea kills parasites. When this happens, we typically experience die-off symptoms, which could include headaches, diarrhea, increased fatigue, or vomiting. Although it may appear that you're getting worse, die-off symptoms are actually positive signs of healing.

Exactly, herbalists, homeopaths and naturopaths will tell you only a teaspoon, and if it’s a detox 1/2 a teaspoon and gradually increase after you see how body reacts. Detoxing is never fun if taking detox substance full strength. The water however not being properly boiled, watched and tested. Was a big warning sign when watching this video.

Just learning about pine needle tea recently, and it looks like you pulled correct needles from a white pine. My guess is maybe the water did not boil long enough to remove impurities of sorts and added to the taste? Spruce also works, but in general, avoid flat needles (they can be bad trees like yew, hemlock, or others that are highly toxic). Try it with younger greener needles in the spring also to mellow the taste. The more mature needles in fall/winter can definitely have a stronger taste and need a bit of sugar or honey sometimes to mellow the taste.

First time i made it, it turned out milky-white, it tasted okay however, but after a few sips i started feeling not so good. I was sick for 2 days and after that i did not want to drink it anymore. But a friend convinced me that it is not supposed to look that way, and that i should try it again. I did, and it tasted great, also the tea was completely clear. Months have past drinking pine-needle tea without any problem. And just this morning again, it turned milky-white.. needles to say i did not drink it. I look to these types of videos to learn and I’m finding that there are many youtubers who will post a video of something like this having never tried it before. I really think that can be dangerous with something like foraging because there’s so many plants out there that can be toxic and/or deadly.
This looks like a ponderosa pine, the bark is reddish with dark black crevices. I couldn’t see the needles to well though.
I love pine tea from WHITE PINE. The tips at the beginning of the year taste like Cotten candy to me, the needles have a stronger taste, still good though. I’ll make a pitcher about once a month and every time I drink it I feel amazing. You can also eat the inner cambien layer, (i collect it from fallen branches after a big storm).
All of this leads to my point which is, pine needle tea can be amazing when you don’t use toxic pines. Please do your own research and look through many field guides, videos, or apps before you eat something if you’re not 100%

It may be a good time to stock up and prepare. Prepare to store, spice, and consume alternative foods, such as squirrels (obtained by traps and bb guns), pigeons, dogs, cats, and burglars. Prepare for burglars by getting clean plastic buckets, and tons of pure salt, in case a burglar comes to steal your food, and his body/meat will not fit in your freezer. You can throw the whole burglar onto an open bonfire to sterilize/ cook the outside and inside before handling. Just debone the meat and pack it into plastic buckets in excess of dry salt. These sealed salted meat buckets can be buried away from premises. Now you have some fresh meat with which to barter, make meatloaf or sausage paties, or give away to the starving homeless. Or, hang whole salted burglar legs to dry in freefood shed out in front of your place, offering free food to anyone in need who stops by. Provide a sign welcoming other burglars to donate themselves as food for the needy by climbing over your fence like the last guy did. Tips: DO NOT STORE CANNED TOMATO OR PINEAPPLE PRODUCTS. THEY RUST OUT AND OOZE AND RUST ADJACENT CANS. ONLY GLASS JARS for tomato and pineapple. Store cans on a plastic grid to elevate them above moisture. Canned coffee and vacuum brick coffee lasts forever. Spagetti and white rice can last forever if protected from insects and mosture.

Ponderosa also called yellow pine, toxic yew, yew pine/buddhist pine. Some types of yew are safe, some are deadly. Norfolk island pine, aka australian pine. Semi-toxic, lodge pole, monterey pine.
Anything but white pine, including cedars and firs may induce abortions that can kill the mother and paralyse her. Only give small amounts to women, and not often. Rose hips, the the weird red hard seed pods of roses are also high in vitamin c. Do not eat holly berries or red winter berries on trees. They can kill you.

Do you really don’t have to sweeten it. If you get younger Pineneedles the flavor will be less bitter. Older Pineneedles have more vitamin C content but I’m more bitter taste. It might be because he picked such a long needles that the nails were very old and had a more bitter taste then a younger growth needle from the end of the tree branch

Look for pine needles in bunches of 3,that is the white pine.there is higher levels of turpentine in most other types .spruce is also a viable option but white pine is the easiest to identify to a novice.it should have a almost citrus peel flavor not earthy .you are probably drinking a nasty water source.
