I start by giving some explanation and maybe will shed a different light on this piece for the listener to enjoy this sonata more as well as sharing what are for me some significant and impactful moments in this piece.
About Laurent Boukobza:
A Parisian native, he is a prize winner of many international competitions including First Prize in Piano from the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris. A recording artist with many CDs, Laurent tours widely in Europe, the Americas, and the Far East.
His teachers included Catherine Collard, Germaine Mounier, Yvonne Loriod and Michel Beroff. Laurent has been organizing his own International Music Camps in Europe every year in July. More details at www.LBMusicCamp.com.
Laurent Boukobza has performed in Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Romania, Singapore, Taiwnan. Poland and the United States.
In the process of recording the complete cycle of all 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas, the CDs, which have been endorsed by a major world renowned label, should be released in end of 2023!

C'était captivant, cette présentation éclairante de la Toccata qui rend son écoute encore plus plaisante la 2ème fois. J'aime beaucoup cette formule : écoute de la pièce directe, explications, réécoute. Je n'ose imaginer la complexité du travail sur cette toccata. De Poulenc je ne connais que le 4ème Nocturne, "Bal fantôme", que j'ai joué, qui à l'écoute a l'air facile et ne l'est pas, donc comme à l'écoute sa Toccata a l'air incroyablement compliquée... Tu m'as fait apprécier cette pièce à la 2ème écoute ! Bravo pour ton interprétation très riche et colorée, dynamique et tout en légèreté.
Et bien, génial ça ! Merci beaucoup. Donc je vais continuer avec les 2 versions (avant et après) car je pense que si vous le dites, probablement d'autres seraient d'accord avec vous! Merci encore de ce très beau commentaire.

In fact the hurricane was truly uneventful for us... but around us? like some streets got slammed really bad, and some lakes overflowed very dramatically.. it was very impressive, and as of today (Sunday) some street are still heavily flooded!! Poor people who have that to deal with.. I fell very sorry for them.
