- Today I am exploring the Pennrose Mall. This mall was opened back in the late 1960’s. How many stores are still open? What kind of condition is the mall in after all these years? We are going to find out NOW!

I think growing up in the 70s 80s and 90s was the best time to grow up. I feel everything after 2000 just changed. People do shopping online. People have their groceries delivered to their homes. Its like people dont get together and hangout like they used to
I agree with you. When the internet became embedded in most households after the 2000. It really changed the landscape of day to day life. Have a good day my friend.
I feel like we skipped to an alternate timeline in or around Y2K. I actually feel like it was a bit later, maybe as late as 2006. People changed. Not everyone tho.
The “kiosk” was The Peanut Shack. Snacks, drinks, candies, cookies, and the best item… ICEE’s! Past that was JC Penny. Across from the Peanut Shack was CATO and CATO PLUS, women’s clothing. Hibbet Sports came later. Before that it was an Eckerd Pharmacy that had a small food counter. I remember eating grilled cheese sandwiches there.
Thank you for the info Josh. Thanks for watching and have good day!👍
👍🏼
So sad seeing malls like this now. You know back in the day it was probably the place to be. I miss the excitement that malls use to have. I love seeing the old pictures when malls would be full of shoppers. Usually people were dressed nice. It was an event to go shopping at a mall. I've been to quite a few malls that have so many empty stores. Thanks for sharing.
Really your sad for a empty mall
@@Mike-fd5zq Absolutely! Think of all the jobs lost. Also the increase in buying online and the decrease of using cash. The tax dollars lost for the community too. Just like the local businesses when they close is sad to me.
There are children going to bed hungry right this minute some were in world and your sad for a empty building
@@Mike-fd5zq There are so many sad things in this world. Children are murdered before they are born-that is a tragedy. But the most important thing is that people accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. This world is temporary and eternity is not.
Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life much more than a empty building
Great job!! Thank you I like watching stuff like this.
Awesome, thank you for watching my friend. I hope you have a great day!
China grill just closed like 3 months ago
I was truly impressed by how long Signal Hill stayed on life support. We all knew it was coming, but it was still really sad when I stopped by to see it was finally closed.
The fact that the JR building now has the red x of death on it surprised me too. Hard to believe it's in that bad of shape now.
I'm going to check out this mall soon. I was also lucky enough to get to go in the eden mall right before they closed it for good. It was the same as far as temperature. It was so hot inside because the I'm sure the AC was off.
JR Tobacco was my first job after I graduated high school. I hate to see that building in such disrepair. Thanks for watching my friend.
Great vid...Dan Bell does alot of good vids on dead malls
Dan Bell is my favorite when it comes to dead mall tours.

Used to Be "Bumpin'"...Back in TheEarly90's.😢
It is so sad to think today’s generation for the most part will never experience how much fun malls could be back in the 90’s.
That RC can came out around 78. That's the year I moved back to Greensboro. Holy shnikies. Loved that mall back then but I didn't really know any better.
Thanks for watching Roland. Thanks for the RC can date.👍
I like Reidsville, but yes....a lot of the businesses closed after the tabacco industry left. It is getting better and there is a lot of new development, but there are still a lot of shuttered businesses in town. NC is currently turing route 29 into Interstate 785 and its expected to bring a lot more industry and jobs to Reidsville. Myself and a lot of other people living near Reidsville wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Hey Jay! Thanks for watching buddy. Also, I appreciate you shedding some light on the positive outlook for Reidsville and the surrounding communities. It sounds like interstate 785 will be a big boost to the area.
You should see the remenants of the "mall" up the way in Eden!! They've sold the ends of the building but the middle used to be just terrible, they may have it blocked off by now.
I think you are correct about the Eden Mall. It is permanently closed when I looked it up on google. Thanks for the information. I like going to old malls. Thanks for watching my friend.🙌
@@HitchHikingYeti weirdly another youtuber named @AcesAdventures1 did penrose 4 days ago and eden 5 years ago!
I guess the old Pennrose Mall is becoming famous!😂@@fluffyashes
We had a Roses in Belmont NC
it's still here.. ?
We have two meals Carolina Mall and Concord Mills.
Concord Mills was my favorite mall to visit back in the early 2000’s. They had a cool NASCAR simulator I would frequent.😁
I just moved to the Reidsville NC area. Sadly I have to drive to Greensboro area for a mall. Not that I go often but seeing what Penrose mall , I didn't really want to even go in!
@@shawngraves3169 I live in Reidsville and they've got roses straders shoes in Belk which are really good stores. The rest of it obviously seem better days. Definitely check out Strader's shoes
Not much happen in Penrose Mall. Just locals walking for exercise.
There is abandoned malls. All over the USA. So sad , everybody buys on line. The brick and mortar bldg s can't survive.
You are 100 percent correct William. The online shopping has destroyed the American Malls. Thanks for watching buddy.
😢 what is happening to the stores etc. In Chicago allot of stores barely open. Small business gone. So Sad.
Online shopping is killing the malls here in America. Thanks for watching friend!
baseball player Rod Carew seems to be still alive
Thank for the info on Rod Carew! Thanks for watching!

Abandon malls are creepy.
You don't know what's hidden in
There.
Not half as creepy as exploring a 100 year old abandoned home. Check out my video from last year. Here is a link czcams.com/video/-851gUYP8lk/video.htmlsi=7YDOtoHt6872wysJ
