I love watching these offshore videos! I do have a question tho- Is there any way to change rigging when getting Snipped by Spanish? What I'm wondering is could a person run just 12-15cm of wire to the lure at the end of the leader? Something like leader to barrel swivel to crimped wire to barrel swivel to split ring to lure? Surely that would make it harder for the Spanos to snippy snip you! I don't know if the wire would really mess up the lures action or if the fish would see it and not bite? I really have zero clue as I've never fished the Southern salt water. My other thought was when getting Snipped by Spanos OR Sharked on Doggies, could you run a soft plastic on a swim jig to avoid losing your expensive stickbaits or popoers? I cringe every time I see you guys lose a $20-$100 lure! That's gotta get expensive and frustrating as hell! I only have limited salt water experience in the N. Pacific around the western US\Canada border for fish like King cod and halibut and sea bass and Pacific Salmon. None of these fish have SUPER sharp teeth like Spanish or Wahoo. Anyway, love your stuff. Hope to someday make an expedition to the GBR or something like that to see all of these beautiful species! Keep on Bustin em!
The trouble is mate, that we are usually fishing for GTs and wire doesn’t really cut it or hold up to the riggers of GT.
