Saharan dust may reach Florida this weekend

- FOX 13 Meteorologist Valerie Mills is tracking the first round of Saharan dust making its way off the coast of Africa. She says as the dust moves west toward Florida, it will squash any tropical waves that try to develop. That’s because the Saharan dust is 50 percent drier than a typical moist air mass that meteorologists would typically see this time of year. She says some of the Saharan air will make its way to the coast of Florida this weekend, which may reduce the air quality.
Mills noted that there is one wave on the edge of the Saharan air that has a low chance of development at the moment. However, it may develop more tropical characteristics as it moves west toward Mexico.

Someone should check the flight tracker and see if there’s a bunch of geo engineering flights over the Antilles and eastern Caribbean
I like this stations weather, but what happened to "the worst hurricane season ever"? time is running and looks better than it has in years, i hope they are wrong as mayo on french fries.
gonna get dusty. Better break out the broom and start cleaning. Every year is going to be bad . When we listen to them
Can't believe now we have a dust forecast. What's life coming to. Guess it isn't hot enough to talk about global warmer. Hey that's it Gates just make machines to sprinkle dust in the air and it will block the sun and stop supposed global warmer. Where's my pay for coming up with the answer that you guys have been trying to do for decades
Too early in the season to tell, the worst months are August, September and October.
Just September and August
@@sunshinefl6586 Except this year , they are trying to say the the ocean temps are 3 months earlier than any other year. So if this were true technically we should be experiencing August temp right now.
Thanks, Val. 😘💐👈
Hope that dust or sand replenish the beaches. I do like a good beach.
Think it'll reach SoCal?
Nice that it's hitting USA and not Great Britain 😮
Is there going to be a hurricane in Florida this year?
I don't know, today I saw a huge thunderstorm sound and my house internet is unavailable. I can't tell if it was a hurricane
