I have my grandfather's old pot belly stove that he had in his house. We live in the country now , And I have it in my garage. It came out of a caboose back in the 1940 . Still works
I can't believe you have cold weather camped Tac!! Definitely get a cot. Better than sleeping on the ground, you can stow gear under it, and (especially as you get older) it's so much better to put your boots on in the morning when you can sit on a cot. And I would definitely watch a restoration of that axe.
Tac I do quite a bit of winter camping in a hot tent with wood stove, the taller cot is the way to go. Staying in the heat zone is important. I have the low style you’re taking about and you have to keep a raging fir going constantly. Cabela’s/Bass pro has cheap ones on sale most of the time and I know this because sleeping on the ground multiple times a year is also not becoming my friend. I’d stay in that sugar shack but plugging up those top holes is a must as you’ll lose all your heat. Drink a few pops and give it a shot.
