Listen, as a huge pizza tower fan, you knocked it out of the park with this update. The effort that the entire dev team made turned out as an absolute banger, and the entire Other Tower community is proud of yall. This is singlehandedly the coolest pizza tower CYOP mod, and the 7 months were definitely worth it. You are all huge inspirations, and I can't thank you enough for this amazing experience of a mod. Mayo for Sam btw !! :v
If there is one thing that this level genuinely gets better than most actual platformers, it is telling a story purely through the game. You step off the train you took to get here, into this strange town, slowly unraveling a big conspiracy theory about the volcano, what I can only imagine is a bizarre cult sacrificing a pig cop to a Wicker Man, maybe to keep the volcano at bay? There's intrigue and developments as you get closer until you enter the volcano. It really feels like an adventure that you just went on. A+
That was the whole goal, really wanted to make the level feel narratively driven to a degree. Glad we succeeded!
You meant P+ haha amiright guys haha I'm so funny
@@MarioFanOnCZcams didn't know it was normal to put 7 unneeded words after your joke.
(nice joke, just grow a spine.)
@@SysFan808 I'm not quite sure what "grow a spine" means, but the 7 not needed words are meant to be ironic because that can't even be considered as a joke, it's so bad lol
@@MarioFanOnCZcams it isn't bad in my eyes.
"grow a spine" means have confidence.
My favorite part about this level is the escape sequence and how much chaos happens during it. The volcano has erupted putting the town in big danger and the moment you leave the volcano the town has already been almost fully engulfed by lava. Idk if other people saw this but you can see the cop pig who was being sacrificed(?) get killed by the lava. You make it back to the train station and see the train you got here on trying to go full speed out of this place only to end up crashing. Other things i like are the backgrounds and changes around the map. Especially the “The end is near” sign turning into “The end is here.” Great job on this level I literally cant stop playing it!
I love how fitting for the level's story this is. It feels sinister, as if there's something WRONG with this small, rural town (which makes sense, as they are seemingly sacrificing a cop), but it also feels somber. After all, even if the town isn't the best, does it deserve to be burned to the ground, and by your own actions no less?
Yeah, the song itself gives the vibe that this town's best days are long behind it, and even without the fast italian wrecking things, they ain't coming back.
I read somewhere that the town had a prophecy that Peppino will cause the volcano to erupt and that they built that hay statue for Peppino to be caged in but instead the cop got nae nae'd
One relatively obvious thing, but one that I've noticed is that every level in Other Tower has a combination of two level gimmicks from the main game. Po-boy Bayou has Wasteyard's corpse riding and ghost transformation, with Oh Sh*t's water stuff. Golf 2 has WAR's timer and rocket riding with Golf's progression style. Idaho Volcano, from what I have seen, is a combination of Fun Farm and FastFood Saloon. Just thought I'd put that out there.
I believe it's fun farm and bloodsauce dungeon, what with the insane amounts of lava and the whole volcano thing.
This level is really a huge combination of carefully picked gimmicks from different levels.
- Fun Farm's enemies
- Bloodsauce Dungeon's boiling sauce
- Oregano Desert's cows
- RRF's thermostat
- and not to mention the unused hay bills from Mansion
Samwow also said a huge inspiration was an IRL vacation he took to Idaho, which is cool
I’d say it’s more pepperman mansion mechanics with R.R freezerator level design.
If you don’t wanna include the mansion then it would be fun farms enemies + hay bales and R.R freezerators mechanics (just an inverted freezerator
@@gamercentral2417wdym by pepper man mansion mechanics?
This theme is so perfect. It makes me complete. I don't know how you made the samples and the music fit together so much but they really do. This just feels so diffrent from a pizza tower level. This is something much better. The town section overall is the most coolest thing i've seen made in pizza tower by far! Love this level. 🌋❤🔥🔥
As a member of the team I appreciate your words so much you got no idea. 🙏
When I played this level for the first time, I'm not quite sure why, but this piece in particular really took me. I think it perfectly captures the vibe of being in this doomed little town in the middle of nowhere. It goes from kind of wistful and melancholic to foreboding and apprehensive, as if the song is telling you you're watching this small town's final moments. It's eerie, and I really like it!
This could easily go toe to toe with any track from the main game's levels. The driving train siren and melody are just marvellous. That sample use makes it sound even more Pizza Tower
Circumstance had me judging this level harshly (and playing terribly) when I initially played it the other day. In retrospect the only piece of real feedback I can give from my experience then is that the Lap 2 portal placement might be unfortunate for a player with 30 seconds on the clock desperately racing for the exit, only to fly directly over an edge into the portal.
That said, having not yet replayed the level in brighter spirits, this is my favorite track of yours and was maybe five months ago (?) when someone showed me it was in the code. 0:16-0:47 especially evokes a feeling that I can't describe better than melancholy, but certainly in a good way. I think your music will be one of your greatest boons in game dev.
I remember when this was a mere concept, only the collisions were done, I had no idea what it would look like. WOW, this is amazing. Also, side note, the 2nd theme was COMPLETELY different from the original in the first iteration that’s publicly available.
this is the music that starts playing when you do your american history homework
This song pretty much emphasizes the depressing idea of having an end to your life life; you're going to exist for only a limited amount of time, and yet, here you are, making plans for when you go.
The town has dedicated itself towards its own demise, counting down the seconds to the volcanic eruption; where Peppino, as I think I've read before, has been turned into this deity for the town, whose existence is purely a symbol of death and destruction.
This town has been dedicated purely to its own destruction, and for what reason? Why? Because it's depressed, it has not seen a reason TO exist, and believes it so wholly that nothing here is for it - that it's just here to be a timer for the next event in someone's lifetime.
I can’t describe why but the beginning has the same vibe as the “You were alive this morning” tape from the work safety JonTron video
It's the same as the main game golf (aka golf 1) so it's worthless
@@Jason_Lol I have no idea what you’re talking about
@@Jason_Lol congratulations, you have made an utterly incomprehensible comment!
This would not sound out of place in the base game. Very nice work!
This music absolutely SLAPS! The little train sounds in the background make it perfect and I love those leads! Keep them coming!
The way that eery pressure builds in the second part... Magnificent work!
Cannot stop listening to this and the B side. Very well done, quite reminiscent of the Pizza Tower style

Bit of a question on the side, but what's the title card referencing?
The Wicker Man starring Nicholas Cage
@@SagaHanson25 There's an even older version of that film that the Nicolas Cage one was a remake of.

And where is it from?
This is good! What key is this in?
Probably E Minor but ley has never been my strong suit
You know Im curious. At the start of the we hear a sample of a man speaking which sounds like its from an old movie. Where did the sample come from?
It's from Norman Cook's Skip to My Loops, a sample pack used across a lot of Pizza Tower's actual music.
You know something? You could do good Pizza Tower styled takes on KoF '95's OST. You much for KoF '95?
Never played it but I might go check out the soundtrack
@@Samwow Groovy! I'd recommend checking out the Arranged Soundtrack AS WELL as the Original one. That's why I'm... Kinda double-posting here.
Sounds kinda like eletro swing to me.
Wait, what is he saying in the beginning?
“Come along children, now we’re gonna have a little music, just like old times. Look, now I’ll start the melody on the organ.”
While word of this level isn't as widespread as that of Golf 2, it is definitely the most perfect level in Other Tower.
The great soundtrack (a given) and neat level design is a delight to play (when you get past the lava sections above obstructive semi-solids), not to mention all the eye-catching details when Pizza Time starts.
It's also the least painful to P-rank, which probably affects my bias.
