We bought seats at Covent Garden but only used the edge. Every performance was a battle between Callas and the critics (the public loved her).Who could hold the stage silent for 5 minutes with that look of "I'm going to win" whilst every eye was on her without blinking. RIP unequalled Ultimate Diva. 50 years & nobody has reached the bar that you set.
I can't even BEGIN to tell you how much I love this! THANK YOU!!! Callas will always remain my favorite singer of all time!
The moment when Rescigno quotes Callas as saying: "Well, the greatest of them all - Renata Tebaldi" literally gave me chills down my spine. I couldn;t imagine my world withouth Callas and Tebaldi, their art surpassed everything!

I enjoy hearing Nicola Rescigno talk about Callas in interviews because you can tell that the two of them had a teasing, almost sibling-like relationship!
