Fascinating indeed. Need some more time to digest it all and will come back at it at a later time, when I have watched it one or two times more. I am a fan of Finger Sargent myself.
    Congratulations on the fluid presentation!

A tour de force with the painting and the vases together. A must see in any visit to Boston. Miss Hirsler's presentation was excellent, with a command of the subject matter and the cadence in bringing the viewer/listener into the time frame of the subject.

On Madame X her response to why did he repaint the shoulder strap is "Honestly he was embarrassed" not backed up, not cited, while I admire her knowledge overall Im not convinced, especially when we now know what a scandal it caused such so that he moved to England...

Thank you for a fabulous presentation! From a non-professional, the Boit picture’s compositional “Urlinie” seemingly also evokes Degas-the green curve from the vases through the rug, the opposing white curve, the not-so-subtle correspondences between the girls and various of his ballerina renderings-to me, quite as much as of Velasquez. Would that have been intentional, do you think?

A lot of people on here who seem to know more than the scholar and her extensive research! Personally I wouldn'tt have the temerity to be so presumptuous. I listened to learn.

Decent presentation except my personal peeve with the lecturer's pronunciation of Velasquez.

Arts lecture should never be personal but do diligent research to present facts and let the audience to have their own interpretation

great presentation, however i feel as if her narrative voice is rather mechanical
