  • oh dear, it has not been fun at all.
DX Delivery messed my order up multiple times (courier) and in that time for the resin to get here, the car was demolished and split apart 4-5 times.
I really wanted to just cut the front end off and give up there.
but thanks to my kid, he gave up his computer time to help me hot glue it together in a way that it couldnt just fall apart so easy again.
I contemplated getting a 100 rolls of duct tape like another guy I seen building his, but cardboard boxes from amazon proved to be the ideal emergency instant hot glue-able columns.
I was up many times through the night to put the car wheels and tyres back on the traps to weigh them down after breaking free.
BUT. ... the resin arrived and oh boy did we have a glass matt party, I was splashing and pouring slipping and sliding my way to a fully covered car, that kept moving around still because of the wind, so some of the joints and corners lifted and bulges, but nothing that some elbow grease with grinders and Sanders wont fix.
I have changed the rear section so we can install the high up dual exhausts.
I changed the shape of the bonnet and the angles below the side windows.
I think this is what's causing my windscreen not to fit properly, but we shall trim ti FORCE fit lol. lots of areas to clear up first before windscreen can be fitted.
I will need to order another tub of resin at some point, at this point I have completely ran out of cash, extra expenses was paint brushes, mixing cups, mixing sticks, 3xscissors, rubber gloves, acetone, fuel for all these trips, extra traps, 10kg of resin
this stuff eats your money very fast.
my only advice would be, do it in a garage or big shed, as rain and wind just twist your melons man.
but obviously if I can do it in a tarp tent in scottish wind in my back garden, then so can you.
I just dont advise it, gardens get destroyed, wife gets annoyed.
let's hope nothing else I dont think of will damage it until I can clean it up and strengthen it.
see you on the next one !

Yes it's a bit crazy, I definitely bit off more than I can chew, much more work for one person than anticipated lol.
I'm installing the windscreen section today so it will add strength as I need to flip it upside down so I can finish the bottom.
I have a feeling everything will crunch and pancake, so if it makes it past that stage, this might actually be possible.
Not looking forward to grinding all the high spots and bubbles off, but needs to done before more fiberglassing can be done.
      I hope it works out
      👍👍👍
