    Ralf says
    "You put your entire life into making music and someone else takes it with the press of a button and creates something else with it"
    In his voice you can hear he's stressed/nervous
    Ralf also has a black eye, must've been a bad day for him

      @@KraftwerkArchives I see
      Really an awful day for Ralf
      To be honest I have no idea what actually came out of this court case in the end or if it's still going on
      Haven't followed it closely because it went on for so long

    It’s unbelievable how little respect there is for someone his original work . Stealing and earning money .

    Oh no, what's wrong with his eye?? Looks like he might've walked into somebody's fist!!
    I met him in 1981 when Kraftwerk played a concert in my home city of Liverpool, UK
    and just like the other three members of this legendary band and Emil, the manager, he was one of the nicest, most gracious people ever!!

    Machen schließlich viele andere Interpreten/ Band's ja auch.

      @ ralf, auch hier sage ich, du hast es auch nicht verstanden. Nenne mir 3 Lieder aus USA, die von Kraftwerk, verbotenderweise geamplet haben, dann lösche ich meinen Post und gebe dir recht. Ich spreche nicht von den samples, die Kraftwerk erlaubt hatte. dann mal los

      @@ethy_bates_art in the late 1970s their music was used in porn and by the early 1980s it was being used in Hip Hop. As I have always understood back then Kraftwerk elected not to seek damages or make any copyright infringement claims. Maybe that was urban legend?

    • @LeToplache007
      @LeToplache007 Před 11 měsíci +12

      @@v.a.993There was only one instance where their music was used in porn, and it was with permission. If you're referring to Kraftwerk not publically going after Afrika Baambaata, supposedly they settled that dispute with them out of court. Also what doesn't help the fact is that copyrights regarding sampling or copying melodies didn't really exist back then, but they sure as hell exist now. Ralf rightfuly won this battle since you can clearly hear that the part of Metal Auf Metal was stolen.

    • @v.a.993
      @v.a.993 Před 11 měsíci +4

      @@LeToplache007 To clarify, Kraftwerk's music has been used in American porn, as well as European porn. In both cases the usage of Kraftwerk's music would have been in the 1970s/ 1980s. To your point about not publicly pursuing infringement cases back then, that is likely how the myth/urban legend started about Kraftwerk "letting" others use its music. In the case of Afrika Bambaataa, Kraftwerk received royalties for the usage of their music. For the record, I agree that Ralf is well within his rights to pursue infringement claims.

      @@v.a.993 The case that was discussed in this video probably could've been settled out of court too but it seems like to me that the girl who stole the melody thought that she had a right to do so, and Ralf who is usually a chill guy had really no other option than to file a lawsuit against her.
