    May I ask how much it cost to ship your 40 foot container of home goods?

    Shame about the delay in transporting the container. Freezer still works means the gas is still ok, so in my view, it won't take much to repair it. Siemens might be expensive though. Modern new furnishings are generally not great quality (stuff from Indonesia, Thailand etc) worth looking for good second hand products via gumtree etc. We bought solid pine furniture (made in Australia) and had it stained to look like local hardwoods. Hope your family is feeling more comfortable.

      Aah thanks Glenn! Yes we are hoping to do a minor repair to the fridge and sell it- great idea with staining pine furniture - totally agree with modern new furnishings quality 😅 we are feeling sooo much more at home now.

      Thanks so much! I will definitely be doing more of these. Unfortunately I am home in South Africa for a few weeks as my father has passed away. New video will be up first week of September.

    Does Dubai have the same type of plug sockets as Australia? That's one thing to think. About when taking appliances from other country's

    • @cathybotha
      @cathybotha Před 2 lety

      Good Point C M!! We invested in some Aussie plugs from Bunnings and changed the UAE plugs on our appliances when they arrived. Easy to do - but Budget anything from $50-$100 depending on how many appliances you bring.

    Do you have to fill out a detailed list of everything being shipped? Eg 8x folks 8x dinner knives, 1x cutlery tidy or just assorted cutlery ?
    Were planning on shipping a container full of cloths/ps4 & vr and games and mechanics tools ect we rented a storage container and just boxed it all and put in Halfords containers but will we need to pull it all out to list it all ?

    • @cathybotha
      @cathybotha Před rokem

      Hi Kate! We are absolutely loving Perth. It is a city with a small town feel and we love the outdoor lifestyle it offers us- even in the winter months!! Cannot wait for Summer to arrive and spend more time at the beach. Good luck with your own plans and journey!
