    I have had both the Vulture II and the Rush 72 for years now and have got A LOT of use out of both. While they are both great packs I would definitely recommend the Rush 72 for a number of reasons. First and probably most important is comfort, Rush 72 wins hands down, all my friends that have tried both agree. Second is versatility, Rush 72 can fit all my Molle attachments and more. Vulture II can fit a reasonable amount but you are limited where you can put them. The 72 has more features and options. Last and probably least, the Rush 72 just looks better when it's fully tricked out. Both are pretty handsome packs but the 72 looks seriously mean.

    Like Fred mentioned, I'd like to see a video on what you have in the bag. Very well done vid!

    These are both great bags with similar quality of manufacturing. I feel the rush 72 has way more bang for your buck, more molle, drain holes, wet compartment, just to name a few, also the rush 72, as you mentioned allows you to open the pack fully, which i feel is far superior as you don't have to rummage through your pack to find those items at the very bottom. In although both great packs and it was a good review.

    I've had this pack in Khaki for about 2.5 years now and still love it. Good review, good vid. Thanks!

    I have had this bag for about 3 months now. I have not built it up yet because I am not sure what I am going to do with it. I was going to be my primary camp bag (72 hr) but, it was much smaller than I thought it would be. The vertical front zip threw me a little and I have not warmed up to it yet. I would use it for a hunting bag but, it is too noisy. Most likely will turn it into a B.O.B. It is a great quality bag but, I like the Condor an Falcon 2 set-up better with the 2 front pockets. Great review and happy that you are pleased with it. ATB2U - Stan

    5.11 is made for police and military. The space in between the bag is for a helmet and things like that. Maxpedition is more outdoors. I own both brands and various items of each brand. Can't go wrong with either

    I love my Vulture II in DFC! Just too bad they stopped making the DFC. I got a lot of attachments also, before the discontinuation. It fits me perfectly, I'm about 5'10" and run right about 25lbs. I hiked a lot this summer with it and it was beautiful! Top quality gear for sure! Thanks for the review Ben!

      MrSrtman18 Yeah, I'm about 5'10" and loaded mine is about 20-25 lbs as well. Thanks for the comment and watching.

    It was this video (christmas 2018) that you made, between two great bags....that got me to pull the trigger on getting the Vulture II....I'll let you know how it works out in 6 month use.

    And i forgot to add the huge bonus of two side compartments which will easily hold a nalgene each. No need to purchase two additional molle water bottle holders.....huges savings right there.

    Great review. Could you give me a measurement of the space between the shoulder straps where they attach to the back of this pack? That space is very important to comfort for me and am considering buying this pack. Thanks for sharing.

    • @jacqueline7118
      @jacqueline7118 Před 8 lety +1

      You also mentioned that the Rush 2 hurt your shoulders, just curious if this was wearing the waist belt or not. I am stuck on the this bag or the 5.11, they both have fantastic features, just need to weigh out the pros and cons.

    LIVING SURVIVAL How tall are you? I've owned the condor version of this pack just to get a feel on how it fits and hugs my back as well as using it as a grab and go pack for my motorcycle. It was alright but I just want to get an idea as to how tall the rush 72 is in comparasin. I'd love to get the tiered system with the Moab 10 pack and go with the rush 24 but the 24 doesn't have a waist strap.

      @livingsurvival  Před 10 lety

      5'11" - I had the Rush 72 and just hated the fit. I was going to get the Condor II but the Vulture II has the flared bottom perfect for a sleeping bag to fit down in. I am very pleased with it. Thanks for watching!

    I also have a maxpedition vulture II but I find that my pack is about 45 pounds so I'm trying to figure how to make it lighter.

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  Před 10 lety

      Mine is 25 lbs max without water. Just look at your heavy items and lose what you don't need.

    I had this pack for awhile and it was a love hate thing. While it looks nice and sturdy, it was not comfortable as the straps sits close on the back of my neck and the belt straps are too high.
