What a fine tool!
Are there any models,or adjustments to sow seeds as big as 20 milimeters? I think of bigger common beans and fava beans. Thank you!
Can I use my jang in the rain?
Hello John, is this suitable for onion seeds?
Can it sow cotton 9n sides of furrows
You forgot to talk about setting the furrow opener depth which is probably the least convenient thing about this seeder as you switch seed varieties. This seeder singulates some seeds pretty well but is not magic, it does not eliminate thinning.
Thank you for the valuable feedback.
im trying to build something like this using old scrap parts an my 3d printers, i have it pretty well done an its working but i need to get more sprockets to change the drop speed for the seeds being used but i made it for my dad to use in his small garden so it will probably only see a couple different type of seeds an as soon as we get a few clear days of weather he will be putting it to use so thats why im here now looking at how others work and this seems to be the most similar to what ive put together. the little metering brush, is this used to keep only a single seed in the hole at a time?
Hello!
Yes, that is what the brush is for. That sounds like a wonderful tool you have made and fun work. We wish you well with it!
es para todo tipo de semilla? cuanto cuesta?
Viene de serie con cuatro tamaños de semilla de orificios para semilla pequeña y mediano tamaño. El costo es de $ 249.00 sin incluir los gastos de envío aplicables.
is this suitable for hard clay soil?
+okin niko Hi Okin, we do not recommend running a seeder thru hard, clay soil. We recommend that you amend your soil until it is either soft/fluffy or you are able to run a seeder thru it. I hope this helps Okin.
Do you always have to use pelleted seeds?
Hi Bob, no you do not always have to use pelleted seeds. A lot of customers prefer pelleted seeds due to their precision. I hope this helps.
where can we buy jang jp1 in the Philippines ?
Hi Mike, we are not aware of any distributors in the Philippines. Sorry for the inconvenience.
no discussion of furrower depth adjustment. coming from earthway, this is the most confusing/absent part of the directions... any input?
There is a horizontal bolt on the front of the bottom brass portion of the hopper assembly. Not the vertical wing bolt, but the horizontal hex bolt. The shoe should have a shaft protruding through the brass section just behind the wing bolt. The horizontal hex bolt should have a hex set-nut on it used to keep it from coming loose. Loosen that nut, then loosen the bolt itself. Adjust the shoe up or down to the desired depth (you should see the shaft move). Now, holding the shoe at the desired height and parallel with the length of the seeder, tighten the horizontal hex bolt against the shaft of the shoe, then tighten the set nut to prevent inadvertent movement.
@@JohnnysSeeds the bummer is that there are no markings like there are on the earthway. It was surprising to me considering how much better of a tool this is, but I had to awkwardly measure out the depth of the furrower.
@@jkochosc you can't adjust seed speth with the jang, 2 nuts to fiddle with AND very hard to access them. Needless to say seed depth is never adjsuted on that seeder.
The Earthway allows you to asjust seed depth very easily AND it tells you in milimeters how deep you're going to seed.
@@charabotte1 you can change it, and I do…but obviously 100% agree it’s a terrible design and there’s no reason it should be so bad!
I wish some reference was made to the depth of the shoe plow....
Hello!
Thank you for that feedback. I am happy to pass that information to our tools team. The Jang JP 1 seeds to a depth of an inch. The shoe plow height is adjustable.
Can you plant rutabagas with it
Yes, rutabagas can be planted with our YYJ rollers.
You can use knee pads too!
