Apostle Phillip, as played by Yoshi, was my favorite character, along with Roumie’s Jesus. Yoshi played it with such sincerity. I loved how he took Matthew under his wing. I will miss you on The Chosen, Yoshi. But I hope other doors open for you.
Yes I agree with the above regarding how he was soo good with Mathew- and soo many other scenes!! Going to miss you as Phillip 😞 It’s hard when they change out the characters- not sure if will get use to the New Phillip- it’s going to be hard 😞
Yoshi, you made Philip breathe and come off of the printed page. Your sense of humor and positive outlook on life made Philip my favorite apostle. Many thanks!!
Thank you Yoshi for being my favorite disciple Phillip. You brought such light and beautiful energy to that role and you will truly be missed. Best wishes on your future endeavors 💜
Ahhhh...Yoshi. Of course, you must follow God's direction in your life. Many blessings heaped on you and yours as you step out in faith. That said, I loved the heart, sweetness and sincerity you brought to the role of Phillip. So well done I wanted emulate your Christian approach to others. What a gift we have had to have you on the Chosen. You are irreplaceable. ❤
Beautiful conversation with Yoshi. So missing him on THE CHOSEN. He is a beautiful man, inside and out. Love the statement about being the shoulder and the wave. Will be praying for you Yoshi. You are a wonderful example of how to live a life as a blessing to others as Jesus did.❤
I will miss Yoshi so much - his portrayal of Philip was so warm and engaging. Thank you Yoshi and God bless you for the next step that God is going to take you on. 🙏🏼
Yoshi is an amazing actor and he will be sorely missed. I loved how he portrayed his character. He has a very calming wise presence. May God bless you on your next chapter of your life.
Thank you Jesus for using Yoshi to make Phillip so relatable! Grace this servant of Yours with wisdom, health, peace, guidance, love, and protect him always in all ways. Amen.
I smiled every time Yoshi came into a scene, he exuded confidence, humor and sincerity. Thank you for blessing us with your work on the Chosen, best wishes and prayers for your future endeavors.
I’m so glad that I found this by accident. I will miss you Yoshi but I do sincerely wish you the very best. You breathed humanity into the Phillip role for us and your interaction validated Matthew in a special way, because you were kind and gentle with him as he struggled to find his way. What you and the other men of The Chosen, have brought to your roles in this series is that you all have, exemplified what more men should be in their roles as fathers, sons, brothers, uncles, husbands, co-workers, bosses, neighbors, ministers, and leaders out in the world. The beauty of a male protector who truly loves and serves God is a gift to all who comes in contact with him. That’s who you are to me Yoshi. So, though I’ve become attached to your style of delivery and your unique mannerisms, (you have been our gift from God in this role). He loaned you to us for a little while, and for this I remain eternally grateful. Thank you and God’s speed my friend.
Such a lovely conversation. I’m very sorry Yoshi has left The Chosen, he drew me towards his character so brilliantly, but I wish him every blessing for the future. A humble man, God bless 🙏
Yoshi you were such a blessing as Phillip in The Chosen. The interactions between Phillip and Matthew were great and the episodes about Decapolis were hilarious. May God bless you and draw you close to Him. May He open doors for you that no man can close.
I so wish you weren’t leaving The Chosen. The way you played Phillip was very special, really taking Matthew under your wing and befriending him, and the way you were the voice of reason with a maturity and calmness the group many times needed. The new actor has big shoes to fill.
So sad Yoshi is leaving The Chosen. He had such a sweet spirit as Phillip. I will miss you Yoshi. 😢 Wish you well and hope you will follow Jesus in your future endeavors! Godspeed!! ❤
I love his portrayal of Phillip. In this, I can see and hear why he was able to play that character as someone that's full of love and kindness. I hope to see him in many more roles.
Beautiful conversation. Ty Yoshi will be missed. I love that Philip was such an encouragement to Matthew. Yoshi has a warm heart and is such an example of love and compassion ❤️
Love and blessings to you Yoshi. I thank you for sowing your gift to The Chosen if only for a season. You are such a beautiful gift to the industry. I pray for your future endeavors and your guidance as you move forward. Shalom to you. ❤
Hello, I am a new subscriber. I clicked on this video because I wanted to hear more about Yoshi. I pray and hope Yoshi is receiving back the Love, and Compassion as he expressed in this conversation. I NEED more people in my life like Yoshi. 🥰🤗💝
Yoshi, you're irreplaceable in The Chosen, in my opinion. As a fellow actor, I can't imagine what a difficult choice it was for you to leave behind a character you created and performed brilliantly, and pass it on to another actor. I have questions--how's your back? Are you still partners with Jordan in the wine business? Was there any animosity about you taking on the role of Jesus for Jason Sobel's Passover special? (I hope not!--you were wonderful!) I couldn't find your Facebook page, but I hope you'll stay in touch with your fans. You are very good at your craft.
I sure hope not. Rabbi, Jason is also one of the advisers of the Chosen. Also, when Jonathan Roumie worked for the Jesus Revolution movie, they also borrowed the cinematographer of The Chosen.
I loved him as Phillip. I will miss him on the Chosen but i am sure that God is leading him where he needs to go. May he be blessed to hear His voice with clarity and follow with love.
Thanks 🙏🏼 so much for posting this. Now that we know he won't be playing Philip in S.4 at least we have some sense of 'closure'. Truly appreciated the depth of character he gave to Philip. [Who knew that he's from the Cape?!! We're there often. If we ever see him, I'll swoon 😅 Godspeed, Yoshi❣️
Aloha from Hawaii 🌺🤗🌹🕊️🔥 You're truly amazing and beautiful through and through. The Lord used you to touch many lives through The Chosen series. Believing for God's divine plan to be fulfilled in and through you in the next season of your life. Trust Him in and for you. He is your Jehovah Jireh (God, your Provider) Psalm 139:14-16❤️
I am always the shoulder that people cry on. Although I may be feeling as bad as the rest I don't show it. I am only able to be this person because of Him. I can be the Rock for others because my house is built on the Rock. Don't build your house on sand. Hope Yoshi returns to the Chosen. Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day ✝️📖✌️💞🙏🐟🐟🥖🥖🥖🥖🥖
I believe Yoshi has to follow his heart. If he does decide to leave The Chosen, I don't have a problem with it. I loved his participation & hopefully he'll make the decision he feels appropriate.
So sorry he left the Chosen. I hope it was for a good reason. I doubt he will find another job that’s more impactful on the public. The Chosen is beyond special!
What an impactful interview. I love seeing younger adults having these deep conversation. Thank you for doing this! This gives me so much hope for my children! ♥️
Congratulations on your first Changing The World interview... and with an amazing actor. Yoshi captured our hearts as Philip in The Chosen and we are all sad to hear he will not be on the show any longer. BUT we pray that YHWH leads the way for him... and for you in this new venture! I am subscribed with notifications on and look forward to more of your work! "Seek Ye First..." and you will do well! ~Kim
Yoshi, I agree with what everybody in the comments said about you. Your explanation of being a support to others who are grieving while grieving yourself. Stellar!! I join in with the group to celebrate your beautiful portrayal of Philip. God supernaturally, abundantly bless you, Yoshi. Thank you both for an excellent interview. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍🕊🤍🕊 3:21 AM PST
Yoshi you were the most chill disciple- I love the way you acted your role on Chosen; but you must take care of yourself- very understandable. Maybe we'll see you again in another production!
As a person on the spectrum, I ended up paying more attention to Mary and Phillip in the way they interacted with Matthew. But then just went back and watched Phillip's interactions with everyone. The character became my favorite, Yoshi really made character warm through the dialog. Thank you. I am really sorry you left. The character and project will be less for it.
I appreciate your discussing the topic of dealing with grief and tragedy....which we all face at some point in life. Clearly, we will all have our own way of dealing. Speaking from my own personal experiences, I have personally found that sometimes the greatest support we can give to others, is to simply be vulnerable and willing to ride the wave WITH them. To be willing to cry WITH them. Walk the journey in honesty and acceptance with them. To have someone who understands the pain and is willing to just be there without an agenda or expectations.....that can sometimes be the most powerful gift we can ever give to another. There is a time for healing, for resurrecting and moving on. But when tragedy comes, especially in the beginning, and for as long as it takes, there needs to be the time to honor the pain. That may not make sense to some, but I know there are others who will relate to that. I think Yoshi really hit it when he talked about not making it about us. Making it a selfless moment. Lifting the tide....all beautiful thoughts. Thanks for a lovely interview with two lovely people.❤
You are absolutely a good actor. I am an original investor and I totally get you. Hang in there and I know you will succeed, your time has come. Be still and work hard…. Your not ready to begin swimming upstream yet. There is a ways to go yet. Gods speed.
