Lockers have been hard to get lately. There aren't many being auctioned off, there's a lot of junky ones, and the competition is paying high prices. I'm so happy I scored this clean and organized unit for $1,800 because it's looking really good. In this episode, just minutes after I bought the unit, I open a shoe box with money and gift cards. I love it when lockers start out like this!

Hello, I'm an American living in Japan, the blue bag at 27:54〜to end of video, that handbag says Keroppi, and it's a famous yellow frog cartoon character over here in Japan by SANRIO company, and each key chain in the 4 grey boxes are actually folding handbag holders you use at tall tables or counters to hang your handbag from. The circle part with noneslip part sits on the counter while the folding out tail curls out to hang your handbag from like a monkey's tail curls. All 5 of those are folding up handbag holders, the last one without a box is a famous shellfish shell called Sazae, and all 5 keychains are from Japan💪💪🇺🇸🇯🇵🗾🗻🌏💯🥰‼️
The thing you found at 28:30 is used to hang up your purse. You attach it to the top of a table/desk and you hang up the purse on the hook 🪝 part. Very practical
Red envelopes are for Chinese New Year. children are given lucky money to celebrate. People usually visit many different household and so with every visit the red envelopes accumulate. It’s a really fun time for children. The fact they were not even open suggests that something happened right after Chinese New Year that greatly altered their lives. Looks like all the boxes were professionally packed too. It doesn’t look as if they packed that stuff themselves or had any choices about what they kept. These people travelled a lot and lead a hugely social life.

The Christmas card with the money made me sad, at that time this card was given to that person and the money inside, the way he just put the card in the trash, and the card had peace on earth on it, its kind of sums up our world today, no time to stop and stare, just greed and me me me.
Its not like the card was meant for him, he's trying to get the money he spent on the locker back. He dont got no business reading someone else's card anyways. He's trying to be respectful of there privacy.
You see that in a lot of these lockers. There was one where the people had left their box of wedding cards they had received at their wedding. They were still sealed and full of money! They didn’t even care enough to look at the cards. There was probably enough to pay for their locker. A lot of people have no gratitude these days. First world problems.

If that stuff was that important to them then they could have simply payed for the locker in the first place.
I love these videos but it’s also sad to see someone’s entire life auctioned off.

I can't help but to worry about the family that left all this stuff behind. I wonder what happened to them???.... I would have at least took the money, pawned a few items or sold some things on eBay in order to pay my storage fee.... This is crazy!!
They are fine, from what I understand. They contacted the facility, a bit embarrassed about not paying on time. I think they might be a bit disorganized, and that's the reason for the default, not health or financial troubles. They asked to get the paperwork back, which I was happy to oblige!

@@LockerNuts It's strange that they were disorganized about their bills, but their locker was so organized! I'm the opposite. I'm usually on top of the bills, but my physical surroundings are disorganized.

@@_DanielFernandez_ I guess people qho have debt cant watch youtube.......and that is besides the fact...we don't really know the back story to what happened.. may have lost someone that these possessions belong to and it could have been emotionally taxing to go through the memories or they may have been experiencing medical emergency requiring time and focus prioritized over material items.. Im sure the financial part could have definitely been covered by the items and money found inside the unit which the family likely knew was there

I am late on this (& new here) but wanted to say I had this happen to a friend, she was late on payments & owed a couple hundred. She was a single mom barely making it & didn't have the money, they locked her out wouldnt even let her get her family pictures or important paperwork (she begged & pleaded) then they auctioned it for $24. She even said that they could keep all her stuff (she had all of her furniture because they had just lost their apt due to financial troubles) she just wanted her kids baby pictures & her own family pictures like pictures of her deceased father & her important paperwork. She pleaded with them to just let her get the irreplaceable stuff like that, even said they could go in & get it for her if they didn't want her in there. It's really sad & I wish I would've had the money to pay for her so she could've at the very least got that stuff out. Or I wish I would've known it would auction for so cheap because I would've done that too. I believe they ended up retrieving the paperwork stuff for her (I would assume they don't want to be liable for identy theft but don't know how the laws work on that) but wouldn't budge on the pics or family heirlooms. I don't blame the people that buy these (who wouldn't these can be awesome finds) but feel really bad for the people who got caught in a crap situation & lost everything.
It’s actually concerning. The cash and high end items inside their unit could have floated the unit for a couple more months. What happened to them? 🤔
@@shannonandkyle That is so very sad. I almost feel like people should buy the contents for $24 and give it all back to the person who it belonged to in the first place. Just seems like a nice, philanthropic thing to do. (I guess that's what you were saying.) But I'm also guessing the identity of the owner is kept confidential. Although it is possible to find their identity within the contents. But this guy spent way more than $24. People can't afford to do that too often. But that just breaks my heart.

Thank you Ladies, I came here to advise that they are purse holder/hooks too! In some countries of the world, a woman NEVER puts her purse on the floor or chair seat; it's considered unhygienic. It works in restrooms as well. Those look really nice as they are also a key chain so you'll always have your hook handy.
They look maybe magnetic 🧲 too. Hang on the bathroom stall.

The round items in the small square boxes are purse holders for when ladies are dining our . The round part sits on the table while the segmented “j” hangs down so you can hang your purse on it. It keeps the purse off the floor.
The key rings are handbag holders which you hand off the table when dining.
The 4 pack things are you put the round disk on the table and unroll it like you did the hang your purse on it to keep it off the floor.

The maybe keychain is a "hook" for a purse or bag. The round part is to put it on a table and the hook looks downwards. Now the bag could be hanging.

I feel so bad those people had some really nice stuff organized and I always wonder like why don’t they get their stuff out before like they can’t pay their storage fees anymore why do they just leave it there. I’m also wondering one of the owners was a teacher

This was a year ago, but those "keys chains" with the frame around the heavy flower pictures are a purse holders. The heavy part stays on the table top and the silver part that opens is the purse hook. Have a couple similar ones.

The keychains in the blue zip pouch that were in silver boxes are purse hooks. They unfold and the round part goes on the edge of the table and the other part hangs down to hook a purse on so you dont have to set your purse on the ground
@28:10 the one in the light blue zipper pouch with round magnet & silver metal that coils... That's to hang your bag on the table. The magnet goes on the table and the metal hangs down with the hook to hold the bag or purse. Most likely its use when you dine in. I have one of those.
The things you found in the Blue Sanrio bag with the gray boxes are purse holders for when women eat at a table.

The little magnet keychains are to hold your purse when you are out and about
The key chair things in the boxes are purse hooks. A lady puts her purse on the hook and the round part flat on the edge of a table. Keeps her from having to put her purse on a dirty floor at a restaurant or hanging from the back of her chair where it can get stolen.

I had exactly the same thought. If she was a teacher, she married well to leave all that cash behind. But I have the same collection of Starbucks gift cards (I'm a teacher). And I don't drink coffee. So, they pile up. I keep them for the odd occasion I do go into Starbucks. But I wish I could sell them.
@@heycarrieann there are actually plenty of online businesses that buy your unwanted gift cards. They usually pay 65-85% of the cards value. Better than them just sitting being unused 😊 Cardcash.com seems to have a pretty good payout option.
Not a teacher. With all of the clothes I have seen, the hotel toiletries, and now all these gift cards, and other stuff I have noticed, I am thinking the woman was a Pharm rep. The man's clothes weren't quite as *fancy* as Pharm reps wear. I wonder if she didn't get relocated and they never went back for the storage.

My sister in law is Chinese, she's one of 5 kids. They moved here when the youngest was an infant. Her parents give all the grandkids and in law kiddo's a lucky ornate red envelope on New Years with 101 dollars in it. It's good luck and prosperity for the new year.

The blue bag that had the round charm looking key chains those are purse holders you hang on your desk. The flat party lays on the desk and the part that hangs down is the part you hang your purse on. My boss bought the whole office one she owned a travel agency. It looks like the unit you got belong to someone who traveled a lot. Well happy hunting!!
I think the commendable thing to do is find the owner and be a blessing and give their gifts back. In times like these perhaps the owners did not want to say goodbye to their possessions.

People mad in the comments but the truth of the matter is that this locker was ABANDONED. The facilities do reach out to the people who aren’t paying and if no one reaches out then it gets auctioned. It’s not this guys fault. He bought the unit. He’s taking advantage of something fair and square.
The boxes at the end , you didn’t know what the were. They are purse keepers. The flat weighted end lays on the table top near the edge, the hook hangs down for you to hang your purse on. So it doesn’t sit on the floor.
On the things you did not know what they are you attach them them to a purse then you use the other end to clip it to a table so it does not have to sit on the floor.

And people leave money on gift cards all the time. after graduations and what not. Everyone is not as broke as the general public. a hundred dollars is like change to some people. Look at the quality of the storage thats left here. they were wealthy, something happened suddenly and it fell apart.

Little keychains that you found in that keroppi bagused to hang your purse you put the round side on top of the table the Little Hook you put your purse hangs from it
The blue bag with all those flowered pull-apart items (end of video) they are purse hangers. The flat part of the flower sits on the table and the strap of the purse loops through to hang off the floor. 'AVON' sells them as well as many other buisness. Happiness is Going Nutz!
Metal round thing inside Keroppi light blue bag is used to hang your bag when you go to church or hang it on a table in a restaurant.
Glasses with yellow lens eliminate glare from oncoming traffic at night - even from halogen lights. I love mine!
Some of the "gift cards" may be hotel room keyless entry cards. Perhaps they started a collection. If they are, they would make a wonderful auction lot for someone's collection.

Believe it or not but those glasses from Texas with a little holes in the lenses help you to read like readers but for some reason looking out the little holes enables you to read smaller letters
