You pay for your dentist wages who charge like $100/hr, you pay for their dentist business rent, for their receptionist, electricity to power their practice. It's crazy.

I was having a cracked tooth done today. The dentist put in two long injections. During drilling, the nerve caused awful pain. I now have a temporary filling and have to wait 4wks to see if they can try again or tooth will need to be extracted. I am with a private dentist.

A better question to answer might be; why is UK dentistry so much more expensive compared to mainland Europe countries who offer comparable standards of dentistry at far cheaper prices?

the real reason why dentistry is so expensive is greed for money to live a better life instead of what dental care was made for to help PEOPLE not make them feel like shit for having bad teeth due to personal life styles like most dentists these days are passive aggressive towards people with bad teeth and nhs patients but if youre private like you went im sure you dont get any of that anymore cuz you can just refuse to treat the cranky people with bad teeth , the only thing that will bring dentistry back to what its supposed to be is to get rid of private dentists and make a universal dentist that everyone pays the same price to be bale to eat and live life without any worries and stress but no this wont happen as the greed is too much you can sugar coat it anyway you want all dentists are greedy .
