RAW PAPAYA HALWA - Mrs Vahchef

  • Mrs.Vahchef is very fond of cooking and her Recipes are very unique and fit for busy women specially working women
    The Papaya Halwa is another sweet delicacy made for special religious events. Papaya is a fruit commonly available and has many health benefits. It is rich in vitamin A and is a good source of fiber.
    INGREDIENTS:
    Ghee 3 tsp
    Raw papaya 1 nos
    Milk 1 cup
    Jaggery 1 cup
    Water As required
    Cashew nuts 8-10 nos
    Raisins 8-10 nos
    Desiccated coconut 1 tbs
    Almonds 5 nos
    METHOD:
    1. Heat ghee in pan, add grated raw papaya saute it, cook it for 5 mins until it becomes soft.
    2. Add milk and cook it.
    3. Boil jaggery with little water in a pan until we get one string consistency, later add to papaya mixture and cook it.
    4. Heat ghee in another pan and add cashew nuts, raisins, desiccated coconut, almonds and saute it, transfer into papaya mixture and cook for 2 mins, until it become thick.
    5. Now raw papaya halwa is ready to serve.

    I tried it's really tasty and healthy version for sweat lover's.

    If you use ripe sweet red papaya you don’t need to add that sugar syrup of jaggery as it will have its own natural sweet taste . Instead of adding milk, add coconut cream which is again deliciously sweet . If u want more sweet add little bit of Stevia and you bring the sugar too much down on the nutritional chart . Low glycemic index

    Coconut cream gives much better superior taste instead of milk . Stevia can be used too as a sweetener . Halwa will not be syrupy ( no chaasni because of Stevia ) . You can achieve that by adding more ghee like 7-8 tablespoon full of ghee 👍🏻
